John Melton is in the Wayne Co., KY census in 1810 then in Lincoln Co., KY in 1820 then he is gone after that. John had a son named Nathan Melton who married a Betsey Hammond. Betsey's father's name was George Hammond. Name is also spelled Hammonds, Hammons & various other spellings.
