According to Vern Paul, Mary's maiden name was Franklin. However, Eula Bridgewater Collins, granddaughter of Mary and Henry and daughter of John lits Mary's maiden name as Hamlet on her father's death certificate. Also note Henry and Mary's son James named a daughter Sarah Hamlet Bridgewater.

Death of Mrs. Susan Taylor

An Old Settler of Ricards and lived in Nevada a year

"Mrs. Susan Taylor, 83 years of age, passed away at the home of her neice, Mrs. J.A. Walker at 2:30 Saturday morning, of a complication of troubles. She is survived by her children, H.S. Bridgwater, of Kansas City, Mrs. Elmer Koontz, of Richards, and Mrs. Sallie Parrish, of Washington township. Her husband died at Richards a year ago, aged 83 years.

Mrs. Taylor was an old settler of the Richards neighborhood, but came to Nevada to live with Mr. and Mrs. Walker at the time of the death of her husband. She was a member of the Christian church and a very estimable woman, The funeral will be conducted by Rev. Arthur Stout at the home at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon and burial will be at Newton Burial Park."

Notes for JOHN HENRY BRIDGEWATER:

John H. Bridgewaters' obit says he was survived by his wife, two brothers and a sister. It notes that one brother lived in Belgrade, (Gallatin Co) Montana and was unable to attend his funeral.

His funeral service was preached by the Rev. J. Frank Moore, pastor of Pine Street Baptist Church, and a Dr. Amerman.

The fact that John Henry is the son of James H. Bridgewater was provided by Darrel Dawes. However, no other documentation has been found to support this.
