He died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born July 25, 1934, in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Elsie Holt Dennis.

He was a farmer and a member of South Fork Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Lucas Dennis; a son, David Dennis of Stanford; two sisters, Bonnie Denham and Mrs. Paschel Grigsby, both of Stanford.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

Eleanor Cook

STANFORD - Services for Eleanor Cook, 81, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Stanford, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. David Gambrel. Burial will be in Waters Cemetery.

She died Wednesday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 29, 1924, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Garret and Beryl Marlow Alford. She was a homemaker, a Baptist and the widow of Ira Cook.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Cook of Stanford; a daughter, Martha Taylor of South Fork; two brothers, Sterling Alford of South Fork and Thomas Alford of Hustonville; two sisters, Alice Wilson of South Fork and Elvera Campbell of Geneva; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Cook Jr., Curtis, Clark and Mick Cook, Donnie and Randall Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Stephen Reed and Brandon Fields.

(Source: Lincoln Co Deed Book 99, 299, Affidavit of Descent recorded in the Lincoln Co Court Clerk's Office states, Henry Waters died 7th day of August 1881. However, he is listed as alive and drawing a pension on the 1883 pensioner's role. It should be noted that the Affidavit of Descent was not filed until Feb. 16, 1945. Water's daughter Mary Jack Murphy gave the information for the Affidavit. Furthermore, minutes from Waynesburg Masonic Lodge No. 328 for Dec 24. 1887 give account of Henry L. Waters explusion from the lodge (page 85). It appears Sarah is the widow listed on the 1890 vets census for Lincoln County. However, her late husband is listed as J.T. Waters of Co. F. Henry was a member of Co. K.). He married SARAH E. FLINT January 11, 1866 in Lincoln Co., Ky., daughter of JAMES FLINT and PERMELIA COTTEN. She was born May 11, 1849, and died June 30, 1914 in Kings Mountain, Lincoln Co., Ky..

She died Wednesday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 29, 1924, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Garret and Beryl Marlow Alford. She was a homemaker, a Baptist and the widow of Ira Cook.
