Bessie May (Breedlove) Abner, 87, of Indianapolis, IN., died Sunday, Feb 10 at the  St.  Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, IN  

A native of Stanford, she was born May 14, 1914 to the late James R. and Annie E. Flanery Breedlove. She was the owner of  Abner's Beauty Salon in Indianapolis
for 20 years and was a member of West Morris St. Free Methodist Church in Indianapolis.  

Survivors include a sister, Violet M. Westerfield of Indianapolis, IN and several nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 13 at the G. H. Herrmann Madison Ave.  Funeral Home in Indianapolis. Burial was in the Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.

January 26, 1901 - February 22, 1979  

Rites for Mrs. Amanda S. Adams, 78 of Crab Orchard, who died at 5 a.m. Thursday, February 22, at the Fort Logan Hospital, Stanford, Services were held at 2 p.m.
Saturday at Beazley- Martin-Speaks Funeral Home by Joe Messer. Burial was in Merritsburg Cemetery in Rockcastle County. Grandsons served as pallbearers.  

Born Jan. 26, 1901 in Rockcastle County to the late Rubin and Lucy Owens Burton, she was a retired cafeteria worker at Crab Orchard schools. She was a Baptist.  

Survivors include her husband, Clarence M. Adams of Crab Orchard; three sons, Harold D. of Crab Orchard, Elmer H. and Clarence Adams, Jr., both of
Norwood, Ohio; two daughters, Cornie Woods and Arbedella Begley, both of Crab Orchard Route1; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

ADAMS, Clarence  

April 13, 1905 - May 03, 1979  

Clarence "Shorty" Adams, 74, of Crab Orchard, died Thursday afternoon, May 3 at his residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Lincoln County Coroner, C. R. Barnett. 

Born April 13, 1905 in Rockcastle County, to the late J. F. and Carrie Houke Adams. Mr. Adams was a member of a Baptist Church in Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amanda, in February.  

Survivors include three sons, Elmer H. and Clarence, Jr., both of Norwood, Ohio, and Harold D. Adams of Crab Orchard; two daughters, Corine Woods and
Arbedella Begley, both of Crab Orchard Route1; three brothers, Arthur A., of Brodhead, Albert of Mount Vernon and Ben Adams of Middletown, Ohio; two sisters,
Lizzie Holcomb and Carrie Barnett, both of Brodhead; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Beazley -Speaks- Martin Funeral Home. The Rev. Joe Messer officiated and burial was in Merritsburg Cemetery, Rockcastle County.

Mr. Adam's grandsons served as pallbearers.

ADAMS, Elmer Anderson 

February 04, 1908 - May 26, 1989  

Elmer Anderson Adams, age 81, of Brodhead, Rt. 1, died at his home Friday May 26, of an extended illness.  

He was born February 4, 1908 in Lincoln County to the late Charlie Adams and Mandy Benge Adams.

He was a retired farmer, a janitor for the Broughtontown School for 10 years and a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ.  

Survivors include his wife, Isabelle Gibbons Adams of Brodhead, one son, James Milton Adams of Brodhead; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and a host of friends.  

Funeral services were held Monday, May 29 at the Mt. Zion Church of Christ with Arnold Larkin officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.  

Pallbearers were Roger Adams, Kenneth Adams, Everett Adams, Tom Adams, Charles Adams and Homer Adams.

Martin Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.

Francis Adams, 79, of 135 Hadlock Street, El Paso, TX., died Saturday Jan 28 at her residence. 

A native of Lincoln County, she was born Nov 23, 1920 to the late Alonzo Anderson and Minnie Franklin Anderson. She was a homemaker, affiliated
with the Baptist faith, and the widow of Robert W. Adams.  

Survivors include two sons, Bradley Hoover of El Paso, TX., and James Hoover of Nashville, TN.; one sister, Ola Belle Coontz of Danville;
seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday Feb 2 at the Fox Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Hunter officiating. Burial was in the Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Stanford - Harley "Alabama" Adams, 60, Indianapolis, died Saturday at home. 

Born July 26, 1936, in Lincoln County, he was the son of Pina Adams of Stanford and the late George Thomas Adams.  

Other survivors include his companion, Mary Martinez; two sons, Rich Adams of Mobile, Ala,, and Gary Adams of Danville; two daughters, Rhonda Adams of
Mobile and Karen Adams of Danville; two sisters, Marie Eversole of Norwood, Ohio, and Ann Watkins of Greenfield, Ind.; two brothers; and six grandchildren. 

Services will be 10 a. m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 9 p.m. Tuesday.

James Thomas Adams, age 66, died 2:16 PM Friday, February 15, 1991 at Humana Hospital in Lexington, Ky. 

A resident of 128 Totten Ave., Lancaster, Ky, he was born May 22, 1924 in Lincoln County, Kentucky to Lula Anderson Adams and the late Leslie Adams.  He was a mechanic.  

Additional survivors include his wife, Joetta Simpson Adams, Lancaster; one son Randy Adams of Lancaster, 2 daughters, Saundra D. Browning of Lexington and
Jamesetta Preston of Lancaster; 3 brothers, Roy Adams, Hamilton, Ohio, Charles Adams, Dayton, Ohio and Ernest Adams, of Lexington, Ky; 2 sisters, Dorothy
Dailey of Greenville OH. and Lena Mae Payne of Lancaster, Ky. and 3 grandchildren  

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, February 18, 1991 at Ramsey Funeral Home officiated by Rev, Morris Trayner.  Burial was in Lancaster Cemetery.  

Pallbearers were Danny McKee, Danny Dailey, Johnny Dailey, Larry Simpson, Earl McCoy and Jesse Wagner.

Honorary pallbearers were Bluford Sebastian, Jack Rigsby, Neal Murphy, Bobby Ross, Stuart Powell, E. J. Hasty and James Long.

ADAMS, John W.  

September 10, 1911 - January 18, 1992  

John W. Adams died at the age of eighty. He was born September 10, 1911 and died January 18, 1992. He lived in Crab Orchard area most of the
time until the early fifties, he moved to Dayton, Ky. and spent the remainder of his life there. He was a retired carpenter.  

He is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Lillie Harness Adams; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Holt of Alexandria, Ky.; two sons, James Adams of Cold Springs and
Michael Adams of Alexandria; a brother, Lonnie Adams of Lexington; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  

Services were held at Summit Church of Christ in Cold Springs.

Interment was at Bethel Church of Christ Cemetery in Crab Orchard on January 21.

Kermit Adams, 64, of Camden, Tenn., passed away Oct. 28 at his home following a long illness. Mr. Adams was born Jan 22, 1921 in Letcher Co. Ky. to Mr. and
Mrs. Frazier C. Adams now of Waynesburg.  

Mr. Adams retired from the U.S. Navy in 1961 after 22 years service. He was afterwards employed by Ingram Tug-Boats until his illness.  

Services for Mr. Adams were held at Stockton-Malin Funeral Home in Camden, where the Rosary was read by Father Rick of St. Lukes Catholic Church of Camden.
A graveside military service was conducted by the 82nd Airborne Division of the Screaming Eagles from Fort Campbell on Oct 31 at Fort Donaldson Cemetery, Doner, Tenn.

Mr. Adams leaves behind his wife Jane, two daughters, Bonnie Adams of Camden, and Nancy Patterson, Bonifay, Fla. ; two sons, Mike Adams of Camden and
Kimmie Adams of Morgan City, La. and three grandchildren.

Also surviving in addition to his parents, are six brothers, Beryl Adams of Somerset, Dennis Adams of Bushnell, Fla., Rudell Adams of Crawfordsville, Ind.,
F. C. Adams, Jr. of New Carlisle, Ohio, Kenneth Adams of Stanford, Ky., and Keith Adams of Ft. Wright, Ky.; and four sisters, Cindy Pumphrey of Eubank, Evy Lee Lanigan of
Waynesburg, Ky., Jean Lanigan of Waynesburg and Ora Sue Todd of Christiansburg, Ohio.

Leslie Adams, 83, of Lancaster, Route 1, died Tuesday, March 20 in the extended care unit of Garrard County Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug 3, 1895 in Stonerville, Ill., to the late John and Emily Adams, he was a retired farmer and member of Goshen Christian Church.  

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lula Anderson Adams; two daughters, Lena Mae Payne of Lancaster and Dorothy Marie Dailey of Dayton, Ohio; four sons, Charles of Dayton
Ohio, Ernest of Lexington, James and Roy Adams of Lancaster; a brother, Robert Adams of Stanford; a sister, Mrs. Melinda Elam of Garrard County; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ramey Funeral Home by Rev. Bill Jackson. Burial was in Goshen Cemetery in Garrard County.

Lula Adams, 94, of Totten Ave., Lancaster died Tuesday, July 4, 1994 at Garrard County Memorial Hospital.  

She was born June 24, 1900 in Lincoln County and was the daughter of William Daniel and Eliza Ellen Hatton Anderson and the widow of Leslie Adams.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church.  

Survivors include one daughter Dorothy Marie Dailey of Greenville, Ohio; three sons, Charles Adams of Dayton, Ohio, Ernest Adams of Lexington
and Roy Adams of Hamilton, Ohio; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James Adams and two daughters,
Mary Adams and Lena Mae Payne, four brothers and two sisters.  

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 8, 1994 at Ramsey Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Bobby Green. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery in Lincoln County.
Visitation will be Thursday (today) from 6 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Patricia Ann Kidd Adams, 37, of Nicholasville, formerly of Stanford, died Monday, Nov. 27 in Ocala FL. while on vacation.  

A native of Stanford, she was born July 31, 1958 to William L. Kidd, Sr. and Violet Lou Coleman Kidd of Stanford.

Other survivors include her husband Carlos Adams of Nicholasville; one daughter, Shasta Ann Davidson and her husband Brandon Davidson of Stanford;
two brothers, William Lawrence Kidd, Jr. of Lawrenceburg and David Ray Kidd of Stanford; and one grandson, Brandon Harley Davidson of Stanford.  

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 30, at the McKnight-Martin Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Bro. Cecil Roundtree officiating. Burial will be
in Sophus Cemetery in Crab Orchard.

Visitation will be before funeral services at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home.

Robert "Bob" Lee Adams, 84, of Rt. 1 Crab Orchard, died Thursday February 9, at his home of an apparent heart attack.  

He was born April 11, 1904 in Lincoln County to the late Green Adams and Elizabeth Adams. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Bethel
Grove Baptist Church. He was the widow of the late Hazel Adams.  

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Seagroves of Crab Orchard; four sons, Robert "Bud" Adams of Crab Orchard, Jimmy "Pete" Adams of Brodhead,
Jessie Adams of Owenton and Earl Adams of Lawrenceburg; 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends. 

Funeral services were held Sunday Feb. 12 at the Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Harpe officiating. Burial was in the Crab Orchard Cemetery 

Pallbearers were Junior Shelton, Rodney Adams, David Adams, Barry Adams, Robert Adams and Richard Adams.

Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Anne W. Northcutt Anderson, 89, of 304 W. Columbia, Somerset, KY, died Monday July 18 at the Humana Lake Cumberland Hospital in Somerset, Ky.  

A native of Lincoln County, she was born August 23, 1898 to the late Eugene Pope Wood and Malissa Lynn Wood. She was a housewife, a member of Stanford
Baptist Church, Lynnwood Homemakers and Daughters of American Revolution. She was the widow of Joe Northcutt and John Anderson.  

Survivors include two daughters, Joan Lankford, Somerset and Marjorie N. Doran of Raymore, Missouri; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at the Fox Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Rev. Sammy Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery

Delbert Anderson, 68, formerly of Louisville, died Saturday, Mary 26th, 1990, in Evansville, Ind.  

He was a native of Garrard County and a retired employee of Home Laundry Co. in Louisville, Ky.  

Survivors include a brother, Maurice Anderson of Lancaster; a sister Georgia Anderson; and a friend, Lorena Barnett, who cared for him.

Graveside services were held Wednesday at Resthaven Memorial Park, Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home, 1201 E. Oak St., Louisville was in charge of arrangements.

Rites for Mrs. Dovie Anderson, 82, of Eubank, who died Sunday, Jan. 22 at Fort Logan Hospital after a long illness. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Barnett Funeral
Home in Waynesburg. The Rev. Harold Carter conducted the services with burial in Eubank Cemetery.  

Born July 24, 1895 in Pulaski County, she was the widow of Murt Anderson who died in 1969. She was the daughter of Deniza Singleton and Emmit Griffin, and
belonged to the Eubank Church of Christ.  

Survivors include two brothers, Everett Griffin of Waynesburg Route 3, and Sam Griffin of Birmingham, Ala. and a sister, Mrs. Della Carter of Waynesburg, Route 1.

Elmer Cook Anderson, 93, of 612 E. Main St., Stanford, died Sunday, Dec. 18 at the Sowder Nursing Home in Brodhead, KY. 

A native of Lincoln County, he was born Sept. 5, 1895 to the late Henry Clay Anderson and Mary Pepples Anderson. He was a retired U. S. Postal Service Rural Mail
Carrier. a member of Lincoln Masonic Lodge # 60 F & AM  (member over 50 years), Past Mason, and a member of the Stanford Church, Church -  former treasurer, deacon
and elder. He received an award for 32 years for safe driving during his term with the U. S. Postal Service and also the widower of Alice Gooch Anderson.  

Survivors include two sons, Elmer Cay Anderson of Stanford and Norman Douglas Anderson of  Boca Raton, FL; four sisters, Mrs. W. G. Morgan, Stanford,
Mrs. Horace Gatewood, Georgetown, Mrs. James Hardaway, Shepherdsville and Mrs. Phillip Mortimer, Louisville; 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. 

Pallbearers were, P D. Roller, Homer Day, Henry Smith, Don Dawson, Bobby Payre and Art Brown.  

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 20 at the Fox Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Faulconer officiating. Masonic services were held Dec. 19 at 8 p.m.by the
Lincoln Lodge # 60. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

ANDERSON, Howard, Sr.  

Howard Anderson Sr., 79, Lexington, husband of Ruby Watkins Anderson, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center in Lexington. 

Born in Danville, KY, he was the son of the late Lige and Minnie Anderson. He was retired from the U. S. Postal Service, a WW II Navy veteran, member of the
VFW, and a charter member of Highland Baptist Church.  

Besides his wife, survivors include a son, Howard (Jackie) Anderson Jr., Harrodsburg, KY, three grandchildren, Phillip Anderson, Jaclyn Baker, and Alan Anderson,
four grandchildren and a sister, Ada Hendron.  

Funeral services were at 12 pm Monday Sept. 9, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Lexington, by the Rev. James K. Pierce. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

Lillian Mae Anderson, 86 of Rt. 1, Stanford, died Monday, February 2, at the Garrard County Hospital, in the Extended Care Unit. 

She was a member of the Methodist Church and widow of Ernest F. Anderson. 

Survivors include one son, Robert Anderson, Rt. 1, Stanford; two daughters, Mrs. Herman Durham, Lancaster, and Mrs. William Devers, Stanford; two
sisters, Mrs. Nellie Franklin and Mrs. Addie Boyd, both of Stanford; two grandchildren, Mrs. Rhonda Phillips of Stanford and Mrs. Brenda Godsey of Lancaster; and three great-granddaughters.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 4 at the Morgan and Fox Funeral Home with the Reverend Wayne Lester officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Lucy Kinnaird Speake Anderson, 83 of 200 Rankin Road, Danville, died Monday, November 11, 1991 at Garrard County Memorial Hospital.  

Born September 13, 1908, in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Johnson Tyler and Myrtle Moberly Speake. A housewife, she was a member of the
Lancaster Christian Church. She was the widow of Jake Anderson.  

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Forest (Elvaree) Yeakey of Lancaster and Mrs. Thomas C. (Della Mae) Oakes of Lexington; and 16 nieces and nephews.  

The funeral was held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ramsey Funeral Home, Lancaster, officiated by the Rev. Stephen Stout. Burial was in the Lancaster Cemetery.  

Pallbearers will be Farris Yeakey, Robert Cecil, Bennie Oakes, Donald Slone, Harry Montgomery, and Wayne Speake. Honorary pallbearers
will be, R. L. Fletcher, Courtney and James T. Cecil, Thomas Oakes and John Anderson.

Maggie Mae Anderson, 99, of 308 Maple Avenue, died Thursday, October 3rd 1991 at the Garrard County Memorial Hospital.  

Born in Garrard County on July 05, 1892 to the late J. P. and Elizabeth Stewart Arnold. She was a housewife and a member of the Lancaster United
Methodist Church. She was the widow of Richard Anderson.  

Survivors include two sons, Harry Anderson of Indianapolis, Ind. and Frank Anderson of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, Rice Arnold of Arizona and
Henry Arnold of Missouri; four grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held at Ramsey Funeral Home, October 7, 1991 at 10:30 a. m. by the Rev. Don Hatton. Burial was in the Lancaster Cemetery.  

Pallbearers were Cecil Arnold, Horace Sharp, Bob Shearer, Bill Meadows, Charles Scott, Willard Russell and Harold Layton.

ANDERSON, Mary Louise

Mrs. Mary Louise Anderson, a 60 years old native of Lincoln County, died Tuesday, Oct 09 at 6:30 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington, Ky.,
after an illness of 10 days. Mrs. Anderson was living in Ludlow.  

Mrs. Anderson was a computer operator and a member of the Bromley Christian Church and the Vasti Chapter 22 of the Eastern Star.  

Survivors include her husband, Russell Anderson; two sons, Dr. Russell Le Anderson of Luray, Va. and James Anderson of Florence; and eight grandchildren. 

Services will be conducted at  the Morgan and Fox Funeral Home Friday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Billy Sale officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Methodist Cemetery.

Stanford (Spl.) - Services for Mrs. Nannie Mae Anderson, 73, of Lancaster, who died Saturday at Buis Nursing Home, Lincoln County,
will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Monday at Morgan and Fox Funeral Home, Stanford. 

The Rev. David McFarland will officiate and burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.  

Mrs. Anderson had lived in the Preachersville area of Lincoln County most of her life and had moved to Lancaster a few months ago. She was a daughter of the late
William G. and Georgia Ann Dudderar Gooch. She belonged to Drakes Creek Baptist Church.  

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Anderson of Lancaster; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Moody of Louisville; Mrs. Joe Bailey of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs.
James Allen Spurlin of Crab Orchard Rt. 2; two sons, David Lee of Cecillia, Ky., and Edward Wayne Anderson of Nicholasville; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Holtzclaw of
Louisville and Mrs. Noel Smith of Falls Church, Va.; a brother, Lewis Gooch of Stanford; 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

ANDERSON, Wesley  

Funeral services for Wesley Anderson, 81, of East Main St., Stanford, who died Sunday, July 3 after a long illness at the Friendship House Nursing Home in Danville.  

Services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Morgan and Fox Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Wesley officiating. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville.  

A native of Boyle County, Mr. Anderson was a retired farmer and member of the Harris Memorial Church.  

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Ollie Graham, Junction City; one brother, Charles Anderson, Milford, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Will Anderson of 
Stanford, and Mrs. Lige Anderson of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.  

Pallbearers were Logan Anderson, Frank Anderson, Ernest Anderson, Dewey Logan Anderson, Gilford Wesley Anderson, and Phillips.

AUSTIN, William A.  

January 13, 1916 - March 24, 1990  

William Arnold Austin, 74, of 285 Sims Road, Hustonville, died March 24 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.  

Born January 13, 1916 in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Jason & Emma Pearl Walls Austin. He was a retired farmer
and a member of New Salem Baptist Church.  

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Austin; a son, Keith Austin of Lancaster; two daughters, Karen Patterson of McKinney and Kay Hale of Lancaster;
a stepdaughter, Anita Campbell of Danville; two stepsons, Bobby Wheeler of Danville and Jerry Wheeler of Hustonville; four sisters, Alma McWhorter,
Edith Johnson and Betty Sims, all of New Salem, and Shirley Maples of Hustonville; four brothers, Kenneth and Jason Austin, both of New Salem,
Glenn Austin of Somerset and Eugene Austin of Indianapolis; and six grandchildren.

The funeral was held Tuesday, March 27, at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home, Moreland, by the Rev Austin Campbell. Burial was in New Salem Cemetery.
