DAVIS, Mary  

May 14, 1895 - February 28, 1980  

Mary Alice (Harris) Davis, 84, of Stanford Route 3, died Thursday, February 28, at Fort Logan Hospital after an extended illness.  

She was a native of Lincoln County and was the widow of Wesley Davis. She was a member of Stanford Nazarene Church.  

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Geneva) Parrish of Stanford, Route 3 and Jewell Clark of Louisville; a sister, Ella Harris of Crab Orchard; five grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.  

Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Morgan and Fox Funeral Home. The Rev. Lloyd Zimmerman officiated and burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery.  

Pallbearers were Marshall Fox, Freddy Fox, Pete Gilliam, Jay Brummett, Tommy Mason, Gary Robbins and Boyd Gilliam.

The grandson of a Stanford man was killed while riding his bicycle in Gorham, NY.

Brian Gary Deatherage, 12, died July 30 when he was struck while riding a bike near his home.  

He was the grandson of Hubert Deatherage Jr. of Stanford and Jean Ball Smith of Lancaster.

The youth was the son of Gary and Judy Deatherage and had two brothers, Chad, 10 and Jason, 16.

In Addition to his grandparents, Deatherage has four great aunts in Lincoln County, Kate Spoonamore, Fanalee Reed, Maye Reed and Juanita Parker.

[Brian Gary Deatherage was buried at Rushville Village Cemetery, Yates County, NY.]

DeBOARD, Minnie Brown  

Minnie Brown DeBoard, 90, a former Crab Orchard resident, died Sunday, Sept. 10 in Middletown, Ohio.  

A native of Lincoln County, she was a housewife, she was a member of Bethel Church of Christ for 70 years and daughter of the late John A. and George Anna Payne Delaney.  

Survivors include 3 daughters, Cordia Hughes of Blanchester, Ohio, Elizabeth and Pansy DeBoard both of Middletown, Ohio; two sons, Wallace Brown of Crab Orchard Rt. 1, 
and Joe Brown of Eustis, FL.; 6 stepchildren 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.  

Services were held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Church of Christ with Bro. Hugh Thomas in charge. Burial was at Bethel Cemetery.

DEES, Charles W. "Mutt"  

Charles W. "Mutt" Dees, 70, of Rogersville, TN. formerly of Lincoln Co., died Friday, Jan 5 in Morristown, TN.  

A native of Indiana, he was born April 12 1930 to the late Preston and Marie Lay Dees. He was retired from Roadway Express after 26 1/2 years.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy and Donald Dees.  

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Neal Dees; two sons, Donald W. "Billy" Dees and Walter N. "Tinker" Dees, both of Rogersville, TN.; one daughter, Marsha Dees (Bobby) 
Russell of Morristown, TN.; one granddaughter, Summer Dees of Rogersville, TN.; four sisters-in-law, Anna Dees Dople of Norwood, OH., Mary Dees Lamont 
of Indiana, Edith Neal Holton of Junction City. and Fay Neal of Stanford; and several nieces and nephews.  

Stubble Field Funeral Home in Mooresburg, TN., was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in the Hamblen Memorial Gardens in Morristown, TN., with Ben Collins officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were Douglas and David Neal of Stanford.

Donald Richard Dees, 60, of Skyline Drive, Stanford, died February 1 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Center in Danville.  

A native of Lincoln County, he was born May 26, 1932 to the late Preston Dees and Marie Leigh Dees. He was a truck driver for Roadway Express, a member of 
Blue Lick Baptist Church and the American Legion Post # 345.  

Survivors include his wife, Delphia Mills of Stanford; one son, Charles Whitlock, of Danville; two daughters, Carolyn J. Nevius of Stanford and Gwen Sizemore of Cincinnati, 
OH.; one brother, Charles (Mutt) Dees of Mooresburg, TN.; two step daughters, Pauline Douglas and Faye Chapman of Danville; 20 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  

Pallbearers were Rodney Rice, David Durham, Earl Dean McWhorter, John Hasty, Jimmy Floyd and Gene Dees.  

Military services will be conducted by the Caswell Saufley Post # 18 of the American Legion. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Fox 
Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Stanford (Spl.) - Preston Dees, a former resident of Lincoln County, died unexpectedly Wednesday at his home in Mooresburg, Tenn., after a short illness.

He is survived by his widow and three sons.  

Dowell- Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon is in Charge of the services that are to be held Saturday at 2 p.m. with burial in Dail Cemetery in Rockcastle County.

Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Friday night.

Fannie "Joyce" Delaney, age 92, of Cedar St., Crab Orchard died Sunday, Jan. 25 at the Ephriam McDowell Memorial Hospital in Danville.  

She was born Aug. 24, 1894 in Crab Orchard to the late Robert and Mollie Fish. She was a housewife and a member of the Second Christian Church of 
Crab Orchard. She had lived here all her life.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Delaney on March, 18, 1985.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Delaney of Crab Orchard.  

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28 at the Martin Funeral Home with burial in the Crab Orchard Cemetery.  

Active pallbearers were James T. Vandiver, George Fins, William Owsley, Sr., Henry Johnson, Thomas Owsley and Glen Smith.

Honorary pallbearers were Richard Baker, Delbert Hawkins, William Bright, George Alcorn, James T. Gover and C. N. Scott.

Martin Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.

Charles Bryant Denney, 68, of Hwy. 159 N. Butler, formerly of Lincoln Co., died Friday, Sept. 27 at the St. Luke East Hospital in Fort Thomas.  

A native of Casey Co., he was born May 5, 1934 to the Elmer Bryant Denney and Cella James Denney. He was a farmer and widower of Opal Gilbert Denney.

Survivors include one son, Joey Eversole of Lexington; two daughters, Barbara Turpin and Lynn Ashworth both of Lexington; three brothers, Billy Denney of 
Louisville, Larry Dean Flannery of Lancaster, and James Black of Modesta, [Modesto] CA.; two sisters Elva Mae Neal of Butler and Mabel 
Mobley of Stanford; eight grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 30 at the Fox Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Wolfe officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Crab Orchard.  

Active pallbearers were Shawn Denney, Gary Mobley, William Ashworth, Jerry Neal, Ray James and Jerry Drakeford.

DENNEY, John Henry  

August 31, 1904 - April, 1980  

John Henry Denney, 75, was found dead Tuesday, April 8 in his trailer on Stanford Street in Crab Orchard. Lincoln County Deputy Coroner Bobby Martin 
attributed his death to asphyxiation from gas fumes.  

Denney, who lived alone, apparently had not been seen for several days, and Marion Young, town policeman, was called to investigate. 
Young discovered Denney lying on the kitchen floor near a gas heater. Dep. Coroner Martin said Denney had been dead for about five days. A pipe from the heater was loose, 
allowing gas to escape into the room, he added.  Martin said he believed the death was accidental.  

Mr. Denney was born Aug. 31, 1904 in Lincoln County to the late Jasper and Julia Frazier Denney. He was a retired farmer and veteran of World War II.  

Survivors include a daughter, Eva Eggersman, and a son Ray Denney, both of Crab Orchard; a sister Betty Stoner of Uniontown, Ind.; and two grandchildren and a great- grandchild.  

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 at Friendship Cemetery in Broughtontown.

Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

DENNEY, Lucy Katherine  

March 30, 1911 - June 18, 1976  

Lucy Katherine Smith Denney, 65, Route 2, Waynesburg, Kentucky, died Friday, June 18, 1976, at Lake Cumberland Medical Center in Somerset, Kentucky.  

She was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ, the daughter of the Late Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and widow of Newton Denny.

Other survivors include four sons, Coye (McCoyie)Simon Denney, Burlington, Kentucky, John Junior Denney, Hamilton, Ohio, Wilburn Denney, Brodhead, 
Kentucky, and Melvin Edward Denney, Crawfordsville, Indiana; four daughters, Flonnie Mae Godby, Hamilton, Ohio, Okie Faye Norris, Crawfordsville, Indiana, 
Nettie Marie Morris, Crawfordsville, Indiana, and Bonnie Paulean Watson, Crab Orchard, Kentucky; 32 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  

Funeral services were 2. p.m. Sunday at Mt. Zion Church of Christ, Crab Orchard, Kentucky. Bro. Thaddus Eubanks was the minister , and burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Mattie Elizabeth Benge Denney, 90, of 8395 Ky. Hwy 1770, Stanford, died Sunday, Sept 19 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.  

A native of Lincoln County, she was born March 2, 1909 to the late Anderson and Molly Watson Benge. She was a homemaker, member of 
New Hope First Church of God, and widow of Homer Denney.  

Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Duvall and Ina Bullock, both of Crab Orchard; one son, Ray Denney of Crab Orchard; one niece, Ruby Playforth of 
Lockland, OH., a first cousin Ruth Reynolds of Crab Orchard; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 22 at the McKnight- Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Crab Orchard with Bro. Cecil Roundtree and Bro. Ron Meece officiating.  

Active pallbearers were Dale Bullock, Kevin Bullock, Randy Duvall, Tim Duvall, Richie Duvall and Lester Hopkins. Honorary pallbearers were Rick Johnson, Hershal Todd and Bobby Burton.

Opal Denney, 65, of 715 East Main Street, Stanford, died Friday, May 1, at the St. Joseph Hospital Hospice Unit in Lexington.  

A native of Harlan, she was born May 15 1932 to the late Sam Gilbert and Lillie Jones Gilbert. She was a homemaker and member of a Baptist Church.  

Survivors include her husband Charles Denny of Stanford; two brothers, Ray Gilbert of Richmond and Shirley Gilbert of Stanford; and a sister, Wilma Sharp of Kokomo, IN.  

Funeral services were held Monday, May 4 at the Fox Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Sharp officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Charles Ray Denny, 55, of Stanford, died Sunday February 24, 2002 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.  

He was born July 31, 1946, in Lincoln County and was the son of the late John and Viola Denny. He attended the Church of Christ.  

Survivors include a sister, Eva Eggersman of Crab Orchard; two half sisters, Betty Saylor of Crab Orchard and Doris Parson of Lancaster.  

Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) February 28, 2002 at McKnight Funeral Home by Thaddeus Eubank.

Burial will be in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Broughtontown.  

Pallbearers will be David Naylor, Keith, Danny and Cameron Saylor, Larry Eggersman and Troy Estes.

Crab Orchard - The funeral of George Franklin Denny, 42, of Depot Street, Stanford, was held Saturday at Martin Funeral Home, Crab Orchard, by the Rev. Dan Carr. 
Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery, Crab Orchard.  

He died Wednesday, Aug. 19 in the Hubble section in Lincoln County of a heart attack while cutting tobacco.  

He was a general laborer and the son of the late Elmer and Zella (Cella) James Denny.  

Survivors include a wife, Annie Frances Brock Denny; four brothers, Charles Denny of Lexington, Billy Denny of Louisville, James Brock of California and Larry 
Flannery of Lancaster; and three sisters, Elva Mae Neal of Shelbyville, Ind., Mabel Mobley of Stanford and Ethel Benge of Junction City.

George Franklin Denny, age 42, of 101 Depot St., Stanford died Wednesday, August 19, at Hubble, cutting tobacco.

He was born September 8, 1944 in Lincoln County, to the late Elmer and Zella (Cella) James Denny. He was a general laborer.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Frances Brock Denny of Stanford; two brothers, Charles Denny of Lexington and Billy Denny of Louisville; two half brothers, 
James Brock of California, and Larry Flannery of Lancaster; three sisters, Elva Mae Neal of Shelbyville, Ind., Mable Mobley of Stanford and Ethel Benge of Junction City; nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 22 at the Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Carr officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jerry Neal, Wayne Neal, Gary Mobley, Nathienal Brock, Larry Flannery and Jerry Ledford.

Johnny Denny, 60, of 851 Lancaster Road, Stanford, Ky., died Wednesday Sept 6, at his residence.  

A native of Clark County, he was born Jan. 12, 1929 to Robert Denny and Birdie Denny Ross. He was a retired employee of Cadillac Plastics, a member of the American Legion and an Army veteran  

Survivors include his wife, Betty DeLoach Denny, Stanford; three sons, Bob Denny, Stanford, Johnny Denny, Jr. , Blytheville, Ak., and 
David Denny, Kings Mountain; one daughter, Vickie Hockensmith, Georgetown; one step son, Eddy DeLoach, Stanford; two sisters, Birttie Jane Daniel, Cerulean and Ellen Boyd, Cadiz, Ky.; and 6 grandchildren.  

Active pallbearers were Larry Caldwell, Gary Ledford, Curt Folger, William Patton, Greg Snow and Travis Henderson. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Hester, Foster 
Phillips, Russell Godbey, Wheeler Phillips, and John Shelton.  

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Fox Funeral Home with Charles Brown officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery

Matthew E. Doss, 63, of Waynesburg Route1, died Friday, January 19 at Fort Logan Hospital after a long illness.  

A native of Boyle County and retired farmer and member of Fairview Baptist Church, he was married to Virginia Zwahlen Doss.  

Additional survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Marcia) Alford of Stanford and Mrs. Tommy (Alma Jean) Shaw of Waynesburg Route 1; two sons, 
Larry and James Doss, both of Waynesburg Route 1; six sisters, Imogene McKinstry of Louisville, Mrs. Ida Miller of Romona, Calif., Ella James, Minnie 
Cloyd and Edna Edwards, all of Junction City; three brothers, Forest of Los Angeles, Calif., Vincent of Illinois and Tom Doss of Junction City.  

Services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Fairview Baptist Church with the Rev. Elmore Ray officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Morgan and Fox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Waynesburg - Bobby Dowell, 46, of 614 E. Main St., Danville, formerly of Crab Orchard Route 1, died Monday in Waynesburg after an illness.  

Born April 11, 1943, in Lincoln County, he was the son of Mary A. Dowell of Waynesburg, Route 2 and the late Henry Dowell. 
He was a former employee of Whirlpool Corp., in Danville and a farmer.  

Survivors include two sons, Luther Henry Dowell and William Joseph Dowell, both of Danville; a daughter, Lula Melasone Dowell of Danville; three brothers, 
Vernon Dowell of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Elmer and Elvie Dowell, both of Waynesburg; and five sisters, Dorothy Morhinners, Barbara Harris and Elsie Carter, 
all of Waynesburg, Christine Roberts of Arlington, Ind., and Margaret Kidd of Crab Orchard.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 17 at the Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Roundtree officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.

James Dowell, 66, of 805 Franklin St., died Sunday, Dec 22 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.  

He was born Aug. 28, 1925 in Waynesburg to Leonard and Mary Oak [Oaks]Dowell.

He was educated in Kentucky schools; was a member of the Sportsman Club, and employed by Crawfordsville Street Department before retirement.  

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Jones; four sons, Robert of Darlington, Delbert, David and Michael, all of Crawfordsville; four daughters, Wanda 
Cooper, Golden CO. , Anna Stonebraker, Linda Rogers and Leda Rossi, all of Crawfordsville; four brothers, William, Leonard, Jr., both of Waynesburg, 
Homer of Smartsburg and Luther of Darlington; three sisters, Lucy Dempson of Stanford, Bernice Britton and Elsie Moore, both of Waynesburg; and 17 grandchildren.  

Services were held in Burkhart Funeral Home at Crawfordsville with Jim Denman officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

DOWELL, Jessie   

June 16, 1946 - October 29, 1986  

Crawfordsville, Ind. - Jessie Dowell, 40, of Shannondale, Ind., died Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville, after an illness.  

Born June 16, 1946 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Mary Blankenship Dowell of Waynesburg and the late Henry Dowell.

He attended Crab Orchard schools and was employed by Midstates Steel and Wire in Crawfordsville. He was a member of the Eagles fraternal 
organization, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.  

Additional survivors include his wife Brenda Fergerson Dowell, a daughter, Julie Dowell, at home; four brothers, Bobby Dowell of Eubank, Elmer and Elvie Dowell 
both of Waynesburg and Vernon Dowell of Crawfordsville, Ind., five sisters, Barbara Harris, Dorothy Morhinner, Elsie Carter  and 
Margaret Kidd all of Waynesburg, and Christina Roberts of Thorntown, Ind.  

The funeral was held at Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, Friday Oct. 31 by the Rev. Dick Baker. Burial was in Shannondale Cemetery.

Leonard Jr. Dowell, 56, of 835 Hurricane Road, Waynesburg, died June 19, at his residence.  

A native of Lincoln County, he was born March 25, 1936 to the Leonard Green Dowell and Mary Emily Oaks Dowell. 
He was a retired carpenter and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.  

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Dowell of Danville; three sons, Mark Allen Dowell of Somerset, Timmy Lee Dowell, Junction City and Ronnie Joe 
Dowell of Waynesburg; one daughter, Diana Lynn Orcutt, Danville; three brother, Luther Dowell of Darlington, IN, William Dowell, Waynesburg, and Homer Dowell, 
Smartsburg, IN., three sisters, Lucy Denson, Stanford, Vernice Britton and Elsie Moore, both of Waynesburg; and nine grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 21 at the Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Gentry officiating. Burial was in Sophus Cemetery, Broughtontown.

Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Crab Orchard (Spl) - Funeral for Lola Oakes Dowell, 86, of Waynesburg, Rt. 2, who died

Tuesday morning at the home of a son, Frank Dowell, Waynesburg, Rt. 2, will be held at 2 p.m.

Thursday at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Lincoln County. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and friends may call at Beazley- Raney- Speaks-Martin Funeral Home.  

Mrs. Dowell who has been ill for some time, was a daughter of the late Matt and Melinda Jones Oakes and was born Dec. 24, 1888. She was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.  

Besides her son, additional survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Young of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mrs. Jim [Bertha]Oakes of Waynesburg, Rt. 2; a son, Gower [Gomer]  
Dowell of Waynesburg Rt. 2; a brother, Charlie Oakes, Waynesburg Rt. 2; 15 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.

Frances C. Dudderar, 82, Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 7, 1984, at the Fort Logan Hospital after a long illness.  

She was born November 22, 1901, native of Stanford, administrator for Selective Service Board Number 60 during World War II, retired secretary for Lincoln 
County Federal Savings and Loan Association. She was a member of the Harris Memorial United Methodist Church and daughter of the late Jacob C. and Lula Allen Cormney.  

Mrs. Dudderar is survived by three nephews and one niece.  

Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. , Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home, with Rev. John Savage officiating. Burial was in the Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  

Pallbearers were George Cox, Randy Leach, Ben Gaines, John Holtzclaw, Harris Rhodes and T. J. Hester. Honorary pallbearers were 
Earl Butcher, Alfred H. Pence, Sr., Charley Griffin and T. J. Hill.

Morgan and Fox Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.

DURHAM, Clifton James, Sr.  

Clifton James Durham, Sr., 77, of Indianapolis, IN, died Saturday, July 1 due to natural causes.  

A native of Stanford, he was born Sept. 7, 1922 to the late James Marion and Rebecca Cox Durham. He was a food manager for Veterans Administration 
Hospital for 33 years before retiring in 1977, a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church and the VFW, and the widower of Margaret L. McCallip  Durham.

Durham was a WWII Army veteran receiving an American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic - Pacific Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, 
Good Conduct Medal, and the Victory Medal World War II Bronze Arrowhead Medal.  

Survivors include two sons, Clifton J. Durham, Jr., and Stephen M. Durham; five daughters, Norma J. Kirchhofer, Marilyn E. Shurtleff, P. Jane Montgomery, 
Ruth a Dearth, and Alice J. Neely; and one brother, Johnny Durham of Stanford; one sister Gertrude Brent of Stanford;

11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 5 at the Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Leonard Durham, 59, of Kings Mountain, died Sunday, May 18 at the Garrard Co. Hospital in Lancaster.  

He was born in Casey County on August 23, 1926 to the late Rosie Bastin and Ransom Durham. He was a member of Kings Mountain Christian Church.  

Survivors include two brothers, Oakley Durham of Mt. Olive and Russell Durham of Goshen, Ohio; three sisters, Josephine York, Eubank, Ivae Mae 
Durham of Cincinnati, Ohio and Rethel Bunton of Amelia, Ohio.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21 at the Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home with Bro. Lloyd Kenny officiating. Burial was in Salyers Cemetery.

Madaline Cain Durham, 75, of 420 Martin Trail, Stanford, died Monday, Sept. 30 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.  

A native of Lincoln Co., she was born May 12, 1927 to the late Earl Cain and Erie Estes Cain. She was a homemaker and member of the Turnersville Christian Church.

She is also preceded in death by a son Frank Durham.  

Survivors include her husband, Curtis Durham of Stanford; two sons, David Durham of Stanford and Richard Durham of Lexington; one daughter, 
Carolyn McNew of Louisburg, NC.; one brother, Donald Cain of Stanford; one sister, Lena Kelley of Stanford; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.  

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home with Revs. John Lowry and David Cornish officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  

Active pallbearers are nephews and members of the Turnersville Christian Church. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Turnersville Christian Church Adult Sunday School Class.

Mary Hopkins Dyehouse, 84, of Dyehouse Lane, died Thursday, August 5 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.  

A native of Bell County, she was born Aug. 8, 1908 to the late Ewell and Ellen Saylor Hopkins. She was a homemaker, the widow of Jesse Dyehouse, and a member of the Crab Orchard Church of Christ.  

Survivors include one son, Elwood Dyehouse of Crab Orchard; two daughters, Theatrice Fish and Inez Carter, both of Crab Orchard; three brothers, John Hopkins, of Burlington, 
Jessie Hopkins of Stanford and Elby Hopkins of Crab Orchard; five sisters, Dellia Frith of Mount Sterling, Snobie Lear and Blanche Saylor, both of Crab Orchard, Ruby 
Napier of Cartersville and Eunice Causey of Garrard County; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Sunday, August 8 at the Martin Funeral Home with J. M. Raulerson, Jr. officiating. Burial was in Crab Orchard Cemetery
