Jasper Gaddis, 84, of Moreland, a retired farmer, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday at
his home.
A
Native of Lincoln County, he was also a former employee of Southern Railway. He
belonged to Harris Creek Baptist Church. He was the husband of the late Gertrude
Webb Gaddis.
Survivors
include three daughters, Mrs. Carol Abbott of Covington, Mrs. O. L. Jones of
Tullahoma, Tenn., and Mrs. Paul Carter of Moreland; two sons, David of
Harrodsburg and
Albert Gaddis of Tullahoma; 11 grandchildren, 19 great
grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Julia Hardin of Moreland, Mrs. Sally
Martin of Junction City, and Mrs. Laurel Donavon of Akron, Ohio.
Services
were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home. The Revs. Glen
Abbott and Vance Singleton officiated. Burial was in Moreland Cemetery.
Active
pallbearers were Eugene Hardin, David and Ernest Bodner, Horace Gordon, Herman
Hatfield, and Elmer Cox. Honorary pallbearers were Mack Gaddis, Ed Vermillion,
Chris Driesler, Eugene Rice, Stanley, Jack and Butch Hardin.

at the VA Hospital in Lexington.

native of Boyle County, he was born October 29, 1924 to the late Laura Bishop
Garrison and Homer Garrison, Sr. He
was a welder at the former Lear Siegler Plant in
Somerset, a farmer, an Army
Veteran of WW II, and a member and deacon of Double Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors
include his wife, June Canaan Garrison of Waynesburg; two sons, David and James
Garrison, both of Waynesburg; three daughters, Janice Sims, Salvisa, Lori Ellis
of
Harrodsburg and Sandy Woodall of Waynesburg; a brother, George Garrison,
Stanford; a sister, Lucille Crawford, Stanford, and 8 grandchildren.
Funeral
services were held Monday, Sept. 24 at Double Springs Baptist Church with Rev.
Burney Manning and Rev. Wayne Stephens officiating. Burial was in
Double
Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg.
Graveside
military honors were given by the Caswell Saufley Post 18 of the American
Legion.
Barnett

Ephriam McDowell Medical Center, Danville, after a short illness.
Born
June 23, 1903 in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Laura
Kennedy Goode. She was a housewife and a member of Bethel AME Church in
Boneyville.
Survivors
include a son, Robert L. Hocker of Stanford; a sister, Mary Jane Harris of
Stanford; two stepdaughters, Etta Pearl Williams of Brooklyn, NY., and
Lillian
Logan of Stanford; and a stepson, Barney Ray Givens of San Teplo, Calif.; 10
grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
The
funeral was held Jan. 29 at Bethel AME Church, Boneyville. Burial was in Gooch
Cemetery.

were Cecil and Richard Alcorn, and James Alfred, Albert Jr. Robert and James H.
Gooch.

Dec. 26 1917 in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and
Kathleen Doan Sims. She was a retired employee of Robertson Drapery Co. in
Cincinnati and a member of Ludlow Christian Church.
Survivors
include her husband, George A. Goins; two brothers, Raymond Sims of Kings
Mountain and Randall Sims of New Salem; a sister Enid Pallan
of Ludlow; and
several nieces and nephews.
The
funeral was held May 5 at Locust Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. John Dean.
Burial was in K.P. Hall Cemetery.

Logan Hospital Extended Care Unit after a long illness.
Ms.
Gomez was a native of Lincoln County and was a member of the Highland United
Methodist Church. She was a retired employee of Barcy-Nicholson Company of
Detroit,
Michigan. She was a daughter of the late David and Lena Butt Burton.

include 2 sisters, Mrs. Roberta McGuffey of Rt. 1, Waynesburg and Mrs. Kathleen
Powers of Detroit, Michigan; 4 brothers, Clarence Burton of Rt. 1, Waynesburg

Services
were held at Morgan & Fox Funeral Home at 9 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Elmore
Ray. The body was sent to Martenson Funeral Home in Detroit, Michigan
Monday
morning, where services and burial were held Tues at 2 p.m.

Gooch, 75, of Hwy 328, Waynesburg, died Saturday, January 22 at the Friendship
Nursing Home in Danville.

native of Lincoln County, he was born Oct. 4, 1918 to the late Fred Oxly Gooch
and Nettie Ball Gooch. He was a retired postmaster and a member of Double
Springs
Baptist Church. He held many local, state and national positions in
Ruritan Club International. He was also instrumental in the beginning of the Waynesburg
Fire Department.
Survivors
include his wife, Mildred Martin Gooch of Waynesburg; three sons, Fred Gooch of
Richmond, John Gooch of Stafford, VA., and Ed Gooch of Oakton, VA.;
one
daughter, Peggy Spears of Noblesville, IN; 7 grandchildren and 1 great
grandchild.

services were held Tuesday, Jan. 25 at the Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home with

died Tuesday, Dec. 23 at Humana Hospital University, Louisville, from injuries
received in an automobile accident several weeks ago in Marion County.

April 13, 1941, he was the son of Frances Hale Goode of Liberty and the late
Dennie Goode.

and Birdie Harris Goode. He was a retired mechanic for Texas Eastern Gas
Company,
a member of the Harris Memorial United Methodist Church,
a member of Beckville Masonic Lodge No. 922, a member of Lincoln Masonic
Lodge No. 60, F&AM, and a
member of the Eastern Star in Stanford, Ky.
He is the widow of Ruth B. Goode.

include two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Mary) Morton, Stanford and Mrs. Bill (Dorothy)
Harden , Campbellsville; one sister, Neva Talmadge, Beckville, TX.; and 7

Garrard County Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.

native of Casey Co., he was born Jan 15, 1922 to the late Myrtle Leonard Goode
and Josh Goode. He was a retired farmer and member of Ellisburg Baptist Church.
He
was also preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Sue Goode and Sue Temple
Goode; one son, Georgia Bell Goode; and three brothers, Kenneth, Robert, Gene
Goode.
Survivors
include his wife, Minnie Alois Mullins Goode of Stanford; three sons, William
Earl Goode Sr. and Vertrese Goode both of Junction City, and Tommy Goode
of
Waynesburg; four daughters, Myrtle, Pamela and Debbie Goode all of Stanford, and

Rachel Holmes Tucker Gordon, 70, died Monday, June 14, 1976, at her home after a
short illness. She was a native of Lincoln County and resided at Route 1,
Stanford. Kentucky.
She
was the daughter of the late John Andrew and Addie Holmes Tucker and a member of
the Hebron Methodist Church. She was the widow of the late Lucian Gordon.

survivors include two brothers, Mack Tucker, Route 1, Stanford, Kentucky and J.
A. Tucker, Shelby, Ohio; and two sisters, Elizabeth Arnette, Columbus, Ohio, and
Eleanora Simpson, Lexington, Kentucky.

Nursing Home in Somerset, of an extended illness.

was born June 8, 1916 in Crab Orchard. He was the son of the late Wallace T.
Gover and Katie King Gover.
He
was a retired farmer, a livestock dealer for a number of years, a member of the
Ky. State Fox Hunter Association, a member of the Crab Orchard Masonic Lodge #
636,
co-owner
of the former Lincoln County Stockyards, a member of the Crab Orchard Christian
Church, where served as Sunday School superintendent for a number of years.
He
is the widower of John Iva Martin Gover.
Survivors
include a daughter, Mrs. Marion D. (June King) Bastin of Stanford; a sister,
Mrs. Newland (Martha) Scott of Crab Orchard; a brother, Jimmy T. Gover of Crab
Orchard;
2 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

services were held Wednesday at the Martin Funeral Home with Joe Faulconer,
David Calhoun and Virginia Shaw officiated. Burial was in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

Graham was the daughter of the late Hayden and Sallie Naylor and is survived by
one son, Henry Elmore of Dayton, Ohio, and two grandchildren.

were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Morgan and Fox Funeral Home with burial
in
Lancaster Cemetery . Services were conducted by Rev. Julian Hammonds.

He
was born Aug. 5, 1897, in Pulaski County and was a farmer.
Son
of the late Emmitt and Niza (Deniza)
Singleton Griffin. He had lived all is life in Waynesburg and was a member of
Singletontown First Church of God. He was the
husband of Mrs. Ida B. Greer
Griffin whom he married Nov. 10, 1920.
Survivors
include two sons, Thomas W. Griffin of Corinth, Ky. and Wenzel B. Griffin of
Christenburg, Ohio; three brothers, Samuel Griffin of Alabama, Luke Griffin of
Illinois and
Everett Griffin of Waynesburg; two sisters, Mrs. Dovie Anderson of
Eubank and Mrs. Della Carter of Waynesburg; five grandchildren and five great
grandchildren.
