Alva John Jacobs, 82, of Rt. 3, Waynesburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 25 at the Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Ky.  

A native of Lincoln County, he was born July 11, 1904 to the late Lucy and Daniel Jacobs. He was a retired radiator repairman and a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.  

Survivors include his wife Daisy Atwood Jacobs; a son Earl Jacobs, Westland, Mich.; two step sons, George Kidd and Ray Kidd of Monticello; a step daughter, Doris Coffee, McCreary Co.; two brothers, Ernie Jacobs and Hubbert Jacobs, both of Waynesburg; a sister Zella Elkins, Orlando, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Friday, February 27 at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Stephens officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Ruby Carter Jeffries, 62, of 315 Upland Drive, Stanford, died Friday, October 28 at the Fort Logan Hospital E. C. U. of Stanford.  

A native of Lincoln County, she was born February 20, 1931 to the late Dewey Carter and Oma Reynolds Carter. She worked for the Department of Human Resources and was a member of Stanford Baptist Church.  

Survivors include her husband, D. L. (Jeff) Jeffries of Stanford; one son, Bobby Jeffries of Stanford; one brother, Elwood Carter of Hustonville; one sister, Ferne Martin of Danville;

and 2 granddaughters, Holly and Emily Jeffries of Stanford.  

Funeral services were held Monday, November 1 at the Fox Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Vickers and Rev. Eddie Miller officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery

Thursday, January 27, 1983 - Interior Journal  

KAUNE, Lucille Carter  

Lucille Carter Kaune, a native of Stanford, and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nevin Carter, passed away December 24, 1983, at the Four Seasons 
Nursing Home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, at the age of 79.  

She attended Faquier College in Virginia from 1920 to 1923, training to teach the deaf, and she taught in that capacity in Rome, New York for a year before moving to Santa Fe.  

She is survived by her sister, Edna Settle, Lexington; and her son, James Edward Kaune, San Francisco.  

She is buried next to her husband, who passed away in 1960, in Santa Fe. National Cemetery, Tuesday, December 28, after services in the Episcopal Church of the Holy Faith.

Elsie Marie Padgett Keith, 75, of 340 Old Waynesburg Road, Waynesburg, died Monday, March 16 at her residence.  

A native of Lincoln County, she was born Aug. 3, 1916 to the late Matt Padgett and Mamie Jacobs Padgett. She was a housewife and a member of Olive Baptist Church. She was the 
widow of Onalee Singleton, Dexter Cole and Clell Keith.  

Survivors include three daughters, Nora Lee Singleton Queen, Palm Bay, FL., Judy Singleton Buschur, Waynesburg, and Janet Cole Ballard, Mt. Sterling; two brothers, J. D. Padgett of 
Louisville and Joe Padgett of Waynesburg; one sister, Marcella Johnson of Louisville; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 18 at the Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home with Rev. C. E. Jacobs officiating. Burial was in Olive Cemetery.

Eva Gover Kelley, 88, of 610 East Main Street, Stanford, Ky., died Friday, September 8 at the Fort Logan Hospital.  

A native of Pulaski County, she was born Jan 24, 1901 to the late J. J. Gover and Mattie Leese Gover. She was a homemaker and a member of Harris Memorial United Methodist Church. 
She was the widow of J. H. Kelley.  

Survivors include two sons, Harold and Jimmy Kelley, Stanford; one brother, Layton Gover, Hustonville; one sister, Alta Routt, Cincinnati, OH.; 5 grandchildren 
and 4 great grandchildren.  

Pallbearers were Steven Kelley, Brian Kelley, Jimmy Harris, Eddie Carpenter, Bruce Morris, Lindsey Rankin, Jr. and John Holtzclaw.  

Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 10 at the Fox Funeral Home. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Bessie Fidella Kidd, 93, of Lane House Nursing Home, died Sunday, January 24 at the Nursing home in Indiana.  

She was born Dec. 20, 1900 to the late George and Oney Settles Harris. She was a member of First Nazarene Church and the widow of Ernest Kidd.  

Survivors include sons, Verner L. Kidd and James A. Kidd, both of Crawfordsville, IN.; daughters, Mrs. Charle Cora Howald. of Hammond, IN, Mrs. Byman Evelyn Hollars 
of Ft. Wayne, IN., Mrs. Edward Ade Morris and Mrs. William Ollie             Query, both of Crawfordsville, IN., and Mrs. Lenord Jean Dowell of Waynesburg; 23 
grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; and 16 great -great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan 26 at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Painter officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, North.

Charles Kidd, age 67, of Versailles, formerly of Crab Orchard, died at his home, Tuesday, April 13, 1982, of an accidental gunshot wound.  

He was born June 7, 1914 in Lincoln County to the late Willis Franklin and Maggie Oaks Kidd. He was a farmer.  

Survivors include his wife, Martha Bell Kidd of Frankfort; 4 sons, William L. Kidd of Rt. 2, Crab Orchard, James Henry Kidd of Rt. 4, Versailles, Ernest Lee 
Kidd of Sylvisia and Claude Kidd Jr. of Williston, Fla.; 5 daughters, Lou Anna Stevens of Rt. 1, Stanford, Mary Kristine Luttrell of Frankfort, Rosa Lee and Linda Faye Owens of 
Versailles and Bobbie Jean Hughes of Alton, Ky.; 1 brother, Elderberry Kidd of Rt. 2, Crab Orchard; 25 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren .  

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Martin Funeral Home with Bill Pack and Frank Peninger officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery, Lincoln Co.  

Pallbearers were James Kidd, Robert Owens, Dean Hughes, Carlos Adams, Charles Hale and Donald Owens.

Martin Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.

Cora L. Kidd, 70, of Rt. 1, Waynesburg, died Wednesday, October 13 at Fort Logan Hospital after a year's illness.  

Mrs. Kidd, who is a native Kentuckian, was a housewife and a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.  

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Marshall Sims and Mrs. Kaleb Oaks, both of Rt. 2, Waynesburg; three sons, Joseph James of Rt. 2, Hustonville, Glenn Ivan of Rt. 2, 
Waynesburg; a brother, John R. Hodge of Rt. 1, Waynesburg, 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held at Morgan & Fox Funeral Home on Friday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Vernon Clark officiated and burial was in Parlor Grove Cemetery.  

Pallbearers were James Mobley, Glenn Kidd, James Kidd, Newland Sims, Michael Oaks, John Mardis and Randy Kidd.

KIDD, Delbert O'Neill  

Delbert O'Neill Kidd, 73 of 312 Stonegate Way, Lexington, Ky. died at his residence on Monday, February 17, 1997

He was born in Lancaster, Ky., the son of Mary Ellen Peace Kidd, Somerset and the late Delbert Kidd. He retired from GTE South in 1987 after 40 years of service.  He had been 
the district manager at Campbellsville and Hazard before transferring to Lexington as a forecast analyst.

He was a World War II Veteran of the Army 503rd Parachute Regiment. He was in the first wave of paratroops to jump on Corregidor, serving in New Guinea, South Philippine Liberation, 
Luzon and later in the occupation of Japan.  

He was a member of Southland Christian Church and the Andover Golf and Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Inda Padgett Kidd, Lexington, Ky.; one son, Kevin Kidd, Lexington; three daughters, Sandi Holt, Orlando, Fl., Shannon Kidd, Cathy Combs and a very special son-in-law, David C. Combs, Lexington; seven grandchildren, Ward Holt, Bradley Holt, Tallahassee, Fl., David Combs Jr. and Cristi Combs, Kevin Kidd Jr., Paul Kidd and Emily Kidd, Lexington;

one brother, John Kidd, Dayton, Ohio and one sister, Odell Hines, Danville.  

He was preceded in death by a sister, Elisabeth Walden, Lancaster and his beloved stepfather, O. L. Herrin.  

Funeral services will be held at Milward Mortuary - Southland, Lexington, Ky., Thursday, (today) February 20, 1997, officiated by Rev. Whit Criswell. 
Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Edith Pearl Denham Kidd, 82, of Rt.1, Hustonville, died Sunday, October 5 in Georgetown Manor Nursing Home in Louisville, Ky.  

A native of Pulaski County, she was born Sept. 19, 1904 to the late Charles and Miranda Hughes Denham. She was a member of West End Church of Christ.  

Survivors include a son, Wayne Denham of Louisville; two daughters, Kathryn Newman of Riverside, Calif. and Lois Carrier of Hustonville; one half brother, Irvin Chestnut of Ludlow; 
three half sisters, Jean Chestnut and Dorothy Schaffer of Covington; (third half sister omitted) 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 22 great -great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 7 at the Fox Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Baker officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Eldenberry Kidd, 85, of 309 Maxwell St., Stanford died Wednesday June 22 at his residence.

She (He)was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Survivors include five sons, Raymond Kidd, James Kidd and Elza Kidd of Stanford, Bobby Jones of Danville, 
and Sherman Jones of West Liberty; three daughters, Lela Cherry of Charlestown, IN, Donna Blanton of Crab Orchard, and Fay Baker of Harrodsburg; two step daughters, 
Marie Allen of Stanford and Roise Swope of Bryantsville; host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Friday, June 24 at the McKnight- Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Roundtree officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery in Broughtontown.

George (Boone) Daniel Kidd, 55, of 6580 Broughtontown Road, Crab Orchard, died July 18, 1991. He was DOA at the U. K. Medical Center after 
falling from a barn on the Coy Day farm in Garrard  County.  

He was born August 23, 1935 in Lincoln County to the late James Earl Kidd and Susie Neal Kidd. He was a farm laborer.  

Survived by one son, James Ray Kidd, Covington; three daughters, Georgia Faye Easom, Mary Jane Griffin and Lisa Kidd all of Dayton, OH.; two sisters, Mary Calton, 
Crab Orchard, and Margaret Bryant of Brodhead; three half brothers, Ronnie Kidd, Wilmore, Charles David Kidd, Danville, and Darrell Wayne Kidd, Lancaster; two 
half sisters, Myrtle Evelyn Fox, Wilmore, and Edna Faye Ray, Lancaster; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.  

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at the Martin Funeral Home by Bro. Cecil Roundtree. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery 

Active pallbearers were Mark and Keith Denney, Homer Tankersley, Bill Lane, Jimmy Adams,  and Loyal Singleton. Honorary pallbearers were Dwayne and Robert Denney, Elmer and Elby Dowell, Danny Mullins and Ronnie Kidd.

Martin Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.

Crab Orchard - Ira Irvin Kidd, 66, of Crab Orchard Rt. 1, died at 3:15 a. m.  Tuesday of a heart attack at Fort Logan Hospital, Stanford. He was a retired farmer.  

Mr. Kidd was born in Lincoln County to the late Frank and Maggie Oaks Kidd  

Surviving Mr. Kidd are his wife, Mrs. Ora Kidd; two sons, Forrest and Ronnie Kidd, both of Crab Orchard Rt. 1; three brothers, Earl and Claude Kidd both of Crab Orchard 
and Elderberry Kidd of Hustonville; one sister, Mrs. Gene Hodge of Crab Orchard, 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.  

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Friendship Baptist Church in

 Rockcastle County (?) with Cecil Roundtree officiating. Friends may call after 11 a.m., Thursday at Beazley-Raney-Martin Funeral Home, Crab Orchard.

Rites for James Earl Kidd, 71, who died unexpectedly, Friday, at his brother's home in Hustonville, were conducted at 2.p.m Sunday at the Friendship Baptist Church. The

Rev. Cecil Roundtree officiated and burial was in the Church Cemetery.  

A resident of Rt. 1, Crab Orchard. Mr. Kidd was born October 6, 1904, in Lincoln County to

the late Frank and Maggie Oaks Kidd. He was a retired farmer.  

Survivors include four sons, George, of Rt. 1, Crab Orchard, Ronnie, of Nicholasville, and Charles and Darrell Kidd, both of Stanford; four daughters; Mrs. Mary Calton 
of Rt. 1, Crab Orchard, Mrs. Margaret Denny of Rt. 1, Brodhead, Mrs. Myrtle Fox of Lancaster and Mrs. Edna Faye Caudill of Lawrenceburg; two brothers, Claude of 
Crab Orchard and Eldenberry Kidd of Hustonville; one sister Loudenia Hodge of Crab Orchard; 23 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Joseph James Kidd, 61, of 8785 Green River Road, Hustonville, died Wednesday, August 21 at his residence.  

A native of Lincoln County, he was born Feb. 8, 1930 to Millard Fred Kidd and Cora Lee Hodge Kidd. He was a sheet metal worker at Penn Ventilator in Junction 
City, a member of Redemption Road Pentecostal Church and of the National Rifle Association.  

Other survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Carpenter Kidd, Hustonville; two sons, Stevie Wayne Kidd, Gravel Switch and James Fred Kidd, Waynesburg; one daughter, 
Dottie Jean Mobley, Hustonville; two brothers, Ivan Kidd, Waynesburg and Everett Ray Kidd, Liberty; two sisters, Josephine Sims and Esta Mae Oaks of Waynesburg; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  

Pallbearers were Harold Sims, Ronald Maples, Kenneth Coffman, Jackie Owens, Novis Yocum, Link Marlow.  

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Redemption Road Pentecostal

Church with Bro. Gary Yocum, Bro. Daryl Graves and Bro. James Mobley officiating.

Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Fox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 05 at Beasley-Raney-Speaks Funeral Home with Bro. Elmore Ray officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Martha Belle Kidd, 67 of Versailles, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 1983, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, after a long illness.  

She was born November 22, 1916, Harlan County, to the late William H. and Mary Ann Neal Griffin. She was a housewife and member of the Nazarene Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Kidd, April 13, 1982  

She is survived by four sons, William L. Kidd, Route 2, Crab Orchard; James Henry, Versailles; Ernest Lee, Salvisa; and Claude Kidd, Jr., Williston, Florida; five daughters, 
Lou Ann Stevens, Crab Orchard, Mary Kristine Luttrell, Frankfort; Rosa Lee Owens and Linda Faye Owens, both of Versailles; and Bobbie Jean Hughes, Lawrenceburg; 
one brother, James Roy Griffin, Versailles; 25 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Friday, at the Friendship Baptist Church with Charles Lowrey officiating. Burial was in the church Cemetery in Lincoln County.  

Pallbearers were Bobby Hodge, Sr., Howard Hodge, Bobby Hodge, Jr., George Daniel, Gene Sweeney and Joe Kidd.

A native of Rockcastle Co., she was born Jan. 6, 1914. She was a housewife  and a member of the Holiness Church.  

Survivors include four sons, James William Kidd, Elza Berry Kidd, Sherman Lee Jones all of Stanford, Robert Jones of Danville; one step son, Raymond Kidd, Stanford; 
five daughters, Francis Marie Allen, Faye Baker, Stanford, Rosie Marcella Swope of Lancaster, Donna Sue Blanton of Crab Orchard and Lela Dephine Cherry, 
New Washington, Ind.; three sisters, Rosie Green, Lancaster, Mae Carpenter, Lexington, and Mary H. Allen, Berea; 53 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 3 at the Fox Funeral Home with Bro. Arthur Selch officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

William H. Kirby, 82, of 15830 South Highway 27, Waynesburg, died Sunday, July at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital following a short illness.

He was born in Rockcastle County on May 29, 1911, son of the late Harrison C. and Mary Magdelene Renner Kirby. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, past president 
of Pulaski County Farm Bureau, member, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, treasurer and clerk at Flat Lick Baptist Church, until declining health restricted his involvement.

 

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Greer Kirby, Waynesburg; a son, William Lewis Kirby, Semi Valley, CA; four stepsons, Paul Collins of Frankfort, John Collins of 
Boca Raton, FL., Dale Collins of Danville and Irvin Collins of Waynesburg; three daughters, Barbara Carter of Whiteland, IN - Janet Whitaker of Greenwood, IN., 
and Sue Bennett of Somerset; two stepdaughters, Kay Hensley of Stanford and Ann Smith of Kings Mountain; a brother, Ingram Kirby of Willailla; two sisters, 
Beatrice Cromer of Midland, OH, Bessie Watson of Banning, CA, 7 grandchildren, Billy Kirby, Brenda Blazedale, Mary Margaret Fisher, Teresa Witzerman,

Edward Kocher, 74, of Ottenheim Section of Waynesburg, died Saturday, January 25 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.  

A native of Newport, Ky., he was born Jan. 27, 1917 to William Edward Kocher and Emma Beck Kocher. He was a farmer, WWII Army Veteran, and a member of Ottenheim Immanuel Lutheran Church.  

Survivors include his wife, Hattie Schlappi Kocher, Waynesburg; one son, Donald Kocher of Waynesburg; daughter-in-law, Norma Jean Kocher, Waynesburg; one daughter, 
Jeanette Petrey, Waynesburg; son-in-law, Billy Petrey, Waynesburg; one brother, Charles Kocher, Danville;

two sisters, Sophie Fiehaus and Loretta Kocher, both of Cincinnati, OH.; and 3 grandchildren.  

Pallbearers were Delmus Petrey, Dale Osterman, David Greer, Monte Davidson, Jimmy Adkins, Merle Miracle, Charles Johnson and Bill Zwahlen.  

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Ottenheim Immanuel Lutheran Church with

Pastor Charles Groth and Pastor Lester Steinweig officiating. Burial was in the Ottenheim Immanuel Lutheran Church. [Cemetery] Military rites were performed by 
Caswell Saufley Post # 18 of American Legion.

Fox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
