- Larry Wayne Mann, 28, of Kings Mountain Route 1 died Tuesday, Nov. 17 at his
home of natural causes.
He
was born Aug. 4, 1959 in Cincinnati, and worked at Lincoln County Pallet Mill in
Highland.
Survivors
include his wife, Palma Mason Mann of Kings Mountain Route 1; his parents
James
Mann and Edith Carter Mann, both of Somerset; two daughters, Jennifer Marie and
Jessica Leann Mann, both at home.; three brothers, James Keith Mann of
Cincinnati,
Michael Crit Mann of Somerset and Eric Scott Mann of Millington,
Tenn.; and a sister, Rhonda Mae Wesley of Science Hill.
The
funeral was held Thursday at Fox Funeral Home, Stanford, by the Rev. Carroll
Jasper. Burial was in Mount Moriah Cemetery.

Middleton.

10 at the V.A. Hospital in Lexington.

native of Lincoln County, he was born May 7, 1917. He was a retired state and
Highway Department employee and former deputy sheriff for 6 years.
He was a
member of Pine Grove Church of Christ.

services were held Wednesday, Feb 12 at the Fox Funeral Home with Rev. Vola

Crab
Orchard - A 29year old Crab Orchard man was killed last Thursday in a
single-vehicle accident on U. S. 27, four miles north of Nicholasville.
According
to a dispatcher with the Kentucky State Police post at Richmond, Lewis Clark
Manuel
was heading north on 27 in a 1987 Ford pickup truck when he lost control of the
vehicle. The truck left the road and struck a telephone pole and fence. The
accident occurred at 6:40 a. m. Thursday.
Manual
was pronounced dead at the scene by Jessamine County Coroner, Sharon Reynolds.
Manual
was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. There were no
passengers in his truck. The accident was investigated by Trooper, Marvin
Taylor.
Born
Nov. 16, 1959 in Garrard County, Manuel was a son of Margie Chandler Manuel of
Crab
Orchard
and the late Joe Manuel. He was an employee of W. R. Chick Construction Co.,
Lexington. He was a member of Cumberland Baptist Church.
Additional
survivors include his wife, Joy Adams Manuel; a daughter Hillary Noel Manuel, at
home; four brothers, Billy Joe Manuel of Cincinnati, Bobby L. Manuel and Maurice
H. Manuel, both of Benham, and Eric Manuel of Lexington; two half brothers,
George Barley of Danville and Rice Gaines of Benham; three sisters, Ernestine
Raptosh of
Dayton, Ohio, Norma Jean Wallin of Cincinnati, and Theresa Hatfield
of Harlan.
The
funeral was held Saturday at Martin Funeral Home, Crab Orchard, by the Rev.
Bobby Green.
Burial
was in Crab Orchard Cemetery

the Fort Logan Hospital.

native of Harlen (Harlan) Co., she was born July 16, 1916 to the late Green
Berry and Charotta Kidd Spears. She was retired from Palm Beach - 27 yrs. and a
member of a
Christian Church. Her husband Eph Manuel preceded her in death.

include two sons, Walter E. Manuel of Stanford and Michael L. Manuel of
Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters, Byrda Miracle of Hustonville and Vicky

Trayner officiating. Burial was in Manuel Cemetery.

Carter Markham, 71, of 132 East Jefferson, Danville, died Friday, Nov. 5 at the
Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

native of Casey County, she was born November 28, 1921 to the late O. W. Carter
and Nannie Lucas Carter. She was a former co-owner of Southern Boy
Restaurant in
Michigan and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She
is survived by her husband, Charles Markham of Danville.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, Nov. 7 at Fox Funeral Home with Rev. Ernest Martin
officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

James Shaw, two sisters, Mrs. Joie Downey of Cincinnati, and Mrs. Jennie
Thompson of Preachersville;
several nieces
and nephews, one granddaughter, Mrs. Glena Shaw Brent, also one great

Mrs.
Martin was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church and leaves a host of friends
and neighbors to mourn her passing. She was loved by all who were fortunate to
know her.

was conducted Wednesday, Nov. 17 by Dr. John Carter in Speaks Martin Funeral
Home, Crab Orchard, at 2 p.m. Burial followed in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

Curt Herrington and J. R. Hume officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Roads about 4 1/2 miles south of Mt. Vernon, due to injuries received in a
motorcycle accident.
He
was born March 15, 1966 in Lincoln County to Lonnie and Barbara Jean Renner
Martin of Rt. 1, Crab Orchard. He was a general laborer. His grandparents
were
the late Virgil Martin and Elva McClure Martin.
Other
survivors include his wife, Debbie Lou McKinney Martin, Crab Orchard; one
daughter, Jenifer Lou Martin, Crab Orchard; one brother, Randel Gene Martin of
Crab Orchard;

services were held Saturday, July 15 at the Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Vola

Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Cadiz.

native of Casey County, she was born April 13, 1916 to the late Daniel Milbern
and Lola Durham Milbern. She was a homemaker, member of Cadiz and McKinney
Christian Churches, and widow of Raymond L. Martin.
She
was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Survivors
include two sons, Raymond N. Martin of Cadiz and Kenneth G. Martin of Lompoc,
CA., three grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two great-great
grandchildren.
Graveside
services were held Monday, Sept. 9 at Buffalo Springs Cemetery with Bro.

March 10 at the Cypress Fairbanks Hospital in Houston, TX.

native of Stanford, she was born March 9, 1904 to the late Isaac McRoberts Bruce
and Annie Fleece Wray Bruce. She was a registered radiologic
technologist
supervisor and the widow of Dr. Paul Joseph Montgomery.
She
was born in Stanford, grew up and completed high school here. She attended
Central Institute of the Deaf in St. Louis. She taught two years in Iowa School
and
one half year in North Carolina where she married the late Dr. Joseph
Montgomery of Council Bluffs, IA. She lived in Iowa for a number of years before
moving to Dallas, TX.,
where she became a registered Radiologic Technologist and
was supervisor of the department in a Dallas hospital.
Survivors
include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Edward Thorn, Jr.; one
son-in-law, Hayden Knott; r grandchildren, Kathy Reynolds, Margaret Thorn,
Edward Thorn III, and Barbara Knott; 3 great grandchildren, Ashley Reynolds,
Sean Reynolds and Andrew Knott; several cousins, including John and Robert
Baughman of Stanford.
Graveside
services were held Wednesday, March 17 at 10 a. m. at Buffalo Springs
Cemetery with Rev. Lee Jennings officiating.

William and Mollie Eubanks McCormack. A retired farmer, he was a member of the
McCormack Christian Church and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the
American Legion.

had been a mechanic 15 years for the Indianapolis Airport Authority.

Mary Eleanore Minks, a retired teacher in the Hustonville schools, died Monday
Dec 19 in Franklin, Ohio, were she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Burns.
She
had lived in Hustonville area most of her life and retired in 1962 after
teaching for 35 years.
She
was the widow of the Rev. Oscar Minks who died in 1974. and belonged to
Hustonville Baptist Church.
She
is also survived by another daughter, Mrs. Jane Rider of Warsaw, Ky.; four
step-daughters, Mrs. Margie Hanson of Hustonville, Mrs. Lucille Burris of
Louisville,
Mrs. Clyde Brown of Lebanon, and Mrs. Lyda Lair of London.
Funeral
will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Hustonville Baptist Church by the Rev. W.
R. Bradshaw assisted by the Rev. Larry Orange. Burial will follow in Hustonville
Cemetery.

Durward Moore, 65, of Rowland, died unexpectedly of a heart attack, Tuesday, May
28 at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.
Moore,
a retired Whirlpool employee and Army Veteran
of World War II, was born on March 16, 1926 in Lexington. He was the son
of Nora Moore Dees of Stanford and the late George Moore.
He
is survived by one son, Ray Durward, Jr., of Caseville, MI.; one daughter,
Kimberly Sarver, Pigeon, MI.; and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral
services were held Friday, May 31 at 2 p.m. at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home in
Moreland.
The
Rev. Eddie Reynolds officiated.
Burial
was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford.

Minnie
Lee Mullins, 81, a resident of Hustonville, died at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 17 at
Fort Logan Hospital, Stanford, from a heart attack. She has been in ill health
for some time.
She
was a native of Casey County, born November 11, 1894, the daughter of the late
L. B. and Georgia Ann Hofley Duneon. She lived in Hustonville area most of her
life,
and was a member of Ellisburg, Baptist Church in Casey County.
Survivors
include three daughters, Mr. Rose Mullins, Route1, Hustonville, Mrs. Lois Goode,
Waynesburg, and Mrs. Maggie Spaulding, Route 1, Hustonville; two step daughters,
Mrs. Agnes Spaulding, Route 2, Hustonville, and Mrs. Nora Curtsinger,
Connersville, Indiana; two step sons, Densil Russell, California, and Tommy
Russell, Danville;
two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Grayson; Indianapolis, Indiana, and
Mrs. Virgie Mullins, Danville; one brother, Raymond Duneon; Lexington; 9
grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland by the Rev. Clyde Rhea of Waynesburg. Burial was in the Hustonville Cemetery

Treva
Christine Cummins Mullins, 83, of Stanford died Wednesday, June 2 at the Ephriam
McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
A
native of Pulaski Co., she was born Aug. 6, 1915 to the late Elmer and Florida
Cash Cummins. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Broughtontown and
the widow of Billy Mullins.
She
was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dianna Brummett.
Survivors
include three sons, James Murell Poynter of Crab Orchard, Derell Lee of West
Chester, OH., and Nick Poynter of Moore, OK.; one brother,
Burdette Cummins of
Mt. Vernon; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, June 5 at the McKnight-Martin Funeral Home in Crab
Orchard with Bro. Cecil Roundtree officiating. Burial was in the Poplar Grove
Cemetery in Willailla.

Clairmont Hospital in Batavia, Ohio, were held at 1 p.m. Thursday at
Beazley-Speaks-Martin
Funeral Home by the Rev. Merrill Caudill. Burial followed in Friendship [Baptist Church] Cemetery.
Mr.
Mullins was visiting his daughter in Ohio when he became ill. He was a retired
laborer and a member of the Regular Baptist Church.
He
was born, March 6, 1909 in Knott County to the late James C. and Sarah Johnson.

Foster Mullins of West Chester, Ohio; five brothers, Arthur of St. Petersburg,

Sarah Johnson Mullins. He was a retired farmer and former owner of Mullins
grocery
store in Crab Orchard. He was a member of the Old Regular Baptist
Church.

Mae Munsie, age 80, of Somerset, formerly of Crab Orchard, died Friday, February
2 at the Midtown Nursing Care Home of an extended illness.
She
was born February 8, 1909 in Lincoln County to the late John M. Munsie and
Jennie Blanton Munsie. She was a retired employee of the Model Laundry in
Norwood, OH.
She was a member of the Brodhead Methodist Church.
She
was preceded in death by a sister, Louisa Shelton Isaacs, and 3 brothers,
Lawrence, Frank and Curtis Munsie.
Survivors
include one daughter, Lucille Munsie Carter, Eubank; one sister Dora Munsie
Doughty of Crab Orchard; 2 grandchildren, Cheryl Rowland, Blanksburg,
VA., and
Kevin Carter, U. S. Army, Germany; 3 great granddaughters, nieces, nephews, and
friends.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, Feb. 4 at the Martin Funeral Home by Rev. Dan
Gutenson.
Burial
was in the Crab Orchard Cemetery.
