Oakes, 76, of Lancaster, died Sunday, March 6, 1977.
Mr.
Oakes was a retired City Hall employee and belonged to the Lancaster Christian
Church.
Survivors
include his wife, Mrs. Flossie Gastineau Oakes; two daughters, Mrs. Sue Edith
Vaughn of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Mrs. Ruby Joyce Allen of Middletown,
Ohio; a
brother, Frank Oakes of Stanford; four sisters, Mrs. George Pero of Louisville,
Mrs. Louis Ball, Mrs. John D. Arnold and Mrs. Wes Miller, all of Lancaster and
four grandchildren.
Funeral
services were held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home in Lancaster.
The Rev. Neil Bergman officiated and burial was in Lancaster Cemetery.

Hospital, Lancaster, Ky.

resident of Danville Road, Lancaster, Ky. she was born October 14, 1910 in
Garrard County, Ky. and was a daughter of the late Grover C. and Alpha Naylor
Gastineau.
She
was a homemaker, a member of the Lancaster Christian Church and a Kentucky
Historical Society and the widow of Clarence Oakes.
Survivors
include two daughters, Joyce Allen of Trenton, Ohio and Sue Vaughn of Grand
Rapids, Michigan; two sisters, Juanita Horton of Lancaster, Ky. and Sue
Lane of
Spring City, Tenn.; three brothers. Russell Gastineau and Robert Gastineau both
of Lancaster, Ky. and James Gastineau of Florida; four grandchildren.
Graveside
services were held at 11: a.m., Tuesday, March 29, 1994 at the Lancaster
Cemetery Shelter officiated by Rev. Bill Hawkins. Burial was in Lancaster
Cemetery.

for Frank Oakes, 70, of Stanford Rt. 2, a retired Carpenter and shoe repair shop
owner. were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Morgan and Fox Funeral
Home with burial in
Lancaster Cemetery.
Mr.
Oakes, who was born in Lancaster Feb 21, 1907, the son of John T. and Cordelia
Reynolds Oakes, died Friday, Sept. 30, at Fort Logan Hospital after a long
illness.
He was a member of the Stanford Christian Church and Lincoln Lodge No.
60, F& AM.
Survivors
include his widow, Mrs. Grace Wells Oakes; and four sisters, Mrs. Lewis Ball,
Mrs. Wesley Miller and Mrs. John D. Arnold, all of Lancaster, and Mrs. George
Pero of Louisville.
Active
pallbearers were Ed Southard, Oley Potts, Melvin Owens, Wallace Price, Short
Saufley and Fleece Gooch, Masonic Lodge members were honorary pallbearers.

Garrard County Memorial Hospital. She was born July 8, 1904 in Garrard
County, a
daughter of the late William M. and Alberta Lunsford Oakes. She was a member of
the Lancaster Christian Church and was a retired employee of Garrard County
Memorial Hospital.
Survivors
include 5 sisters, Mrs. Jennie Baker, Mrs. Ella Rankin, Mrs. Rebecca Gilbert all
of Lancaster, Mrs. Laverne Walker, Indiana and Mrs. Allene Grover of Houston,
Texas; 2 brothers, Walter Oakes, Tucson, Arizona and Billy Oakes, Lancaster and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday (January 28, 1987) at Ramsey Funeral Home
officiated by Rev. Stephen Stout. Burial was in Lancaster Cemetery.
Pallbearers
were Caywood and Mark Metcalfe, James Long, Mike Long, Wade Vaught, John
Aldridge and E. J. Hasty.

Simpson Oaks. He worked in the paint department of Whirlpool for 18 years
and
was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church.

Mrs. Mark (Lori)

Bryant. A homemaker, she was a member of McKinney Christian Church.
Survivors
include her husband, William Gather Oakes; two sons, James Alfred Oakes of
Richmond, Ind., and Hershel Eugene Oakes of Hustonville; a daughter, Shirley
Christine Hilderbrand of Greenville, Ohio; a sister, Stella Lamb of Richmond,
Ind.; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
The
funeral was held at 11 a. m. Wednesday, November 20 at Fox Funeral Home,
Stanford, officiated by Brother Jeff Helton.
Burial was in McKinney Cemetery.

was a veteran of World War I.
