Louise Belcher, 80, passed away Thursday August 21, 2014. She was born in Stanford, Kentucky on November 24, 1933 to the late John William and Irene Lewis Coffman and was the widow of Ray T. Belcher.

Mrs. Belcher was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Danville, worked as an upholsterer in both California and Kentucky, was an avid gardener having won awards for her beautiful flower gardens, and enjoyed going bargaining for Antiques, dancing and socializing.

Survivors include Mrs. Belcher's son Phillip Ray Belcher, Sr. of Danville, five grandchildren, Timothy Ray (Brandi) Montgomery of Moreland, Deborah Lynn Montgomery of Danville, Joni Jolene (Kerray) Wooton of Glendale, Kentucky, Phillip Ray Belcher, Jr. of Danville, and Francis Louise Belcher of Junction City. Mrs. Belcher is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, a brother Johnny Coffman, 2 sisters Birdie May Coffman, Emma Jean McIver, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Belcher is preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Carolyn Belcher, 5 brothers Homer, Thomas, Chester, Wesley Coffman, and 3 sisters Birdie Daughtery, Joan Raley, and Gladys Raley.

The funeral service will be 11:00a.m., Monday August 25, 2014 at Preston-Pruitt Fuenral Home with Pastor Andrew Mikels officiating. Burial will follow in Parksville Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday August 24, 2014 from 6-8:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Wooton, Christopher Pendygraft, Tim Montgomery, Marvin Coffman, Lonnie Coffman, and Donald Raley.

Honorary bearers will be Phillip Ray Belcher, Jr., Dexter Mattingly, Kerray Wooton, Truman White, Alice Belcher, and Trent Cox.

Sharon Brent, 65, of Waynesburg, KY passed away Friday, October 3, 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. She was born March 7, 1949 in Stanford, KY to the late Grover and Grace Vosburgh Farris. She was a former employee of BPI Inc.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years: Kenneth Brent, of Stanford, KY, two sons: Charles Archer and Anthony Archer, both of Stanford, KY, one daughter: Grace Grissom of Eubank, KY, one brother: Joe Farris of Stanford, KY, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother: Robert Farris.

Mrs. Betty J. Bullock, age 64 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. She was born in Broughtontown, KY on Apr. 11, 1948 the daughter of Geader and Maxine Bruner Adams. She was a retired employee of Rockcastle Manufacturing and was a member of the Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Danny Bullock; her son, Scottie Bullock and wife Michelle of Mt. Vernon; her daughter, Sherrie Creech and husband Calvin of Mt. Vernon; one brother, David Adams of Lancaster; and two sisters, Josephine Mills of Liberty and Mary Lou Dowell of Stanford. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Brandon Bullock, Rylee Creech, Callie Creech, Ciara Johnston, and Taylor Johnston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Denver and Billy Adams; and a sister, Alene Pittman.

Robert R. Burchett, 67, passed away Wednesday January 1, 2014. He was born March 14, 1946 in Boyle County to the late William and Edna Tate Burchett.

Mr. Burchett was a member of the Faith Temple in Jesus Name in Stanford, enjoyed playing many musical instruments, attending church, reading his Bible, and watching old movies.

Mr. Burchett is survived by a son, Melvin (Shelly) Alsman, 4 daughters, Melissa Burchett, Ellen Harrison (Rob Bowser), Jennifer (Bobby) Dotson, Katrina Burchett (Scott Wilson) all of Danville, 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Jimmy Burchett, Johnny (Belinda) Burchett, 4 sisters, Connie (Ray) Warren, Ann Tate, Wanda (Brent) Curtsinger, Betty (Harvey) Mullins, and his ex-wife Jenny Stevens.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Burchett is preceded in death by a brother Tom, and sisters, Marie, Fannie, and Hattie.

Funeral service will be 2:00p.m., Saturday January 4, 2014 at Faith Temple in Jesus Name Church 219 Swope Road Stanford, KY 40484 with Bro. Roger Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Dix River Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Preston-Pruitt Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Norman Russell Burton, 92, of Stanford, KY passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Born February, 27, 1922 in Lincoln County, KY to the late Clarence and Grace Walls Burton, he was a WWII Veteran having served in the South Pacific Theatre in the United States Navy. He was also a retired employee of Square D. Inc., a member of American Legion Post #18 Honor Guard, a member of Baptist Brotherhood, and a member of the KY Baptist Disaster Relief Team having worked on several natural disaster missions. He was also a member and Deacon of Fairview Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years: Allene Burton of Stanford, KY, two sons: Phillip Burton (Beverly) of Stanford, KY, and Steve Burton (Janie) of Glasgow, KY, one daughter: Linda Christopher (Lee) of Lancaster, KY, one daughter-in-law: Betty Jean Burton Byrd (Kermit) of West Point, MS, one brother: Warren Burton of Waynesburg, KY, seven grandchildren: Rusty Burton (Kate), Nathan Burton (Teonna), Dan Burton, Michael Burton, Randy Christopher (Shannon), Steven Burton (Jennifer), and Brandi Miller, eleven great-grandsons, two great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sharon Owens Burton age 69, of Nicholasville, passed away Friday August 8, 2014 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. She was born on October 23, 1944 in Stanford, KY the daughter of the late Oscar and Louise Wilson Owens. She was a retired bookkeeper, enjoyed painting, gardening, cooking, and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Survivors are: two daughters; Lynne Clifton and husband Kevin of Dallas, TX, and Joan Barney and husband Steve of Naples, FL. Three sisters; Mrs. Sadie McHargue of Shepherdsville, KY., Mrs. Bernice McEldred of Louisville, KY, and Mrs. Carol Hamm Barnett of Mt.Vernon. Four grandchildren; Blake, Embry, Chase, and Chancellor, by one great grandchild; Toren Manard, several nieces, nephews, and one special friend; Marion Williams also survives. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband; Charles Denver Burton, and by one brother; Norman Owens.

Edith Helen Crowe Carrier, 89 of Hustonville passed away Monday, September 29, 2014. Born March 19, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Asbury Crowe.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Edgar Conatser and Ivan H. Carrier; son, Ivan Dale Carrier, grandson, Troy Richey and great grandchild, Michael Baldock. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Leslie) Richey and Brenda (Marvin) Wilson, both of Hustonville; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Services are at 1 pm, Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with burial in Hustonville Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brian Richey, Glendon Richey, Ryan Baldock, Marvin Wilson, II, Marshall Carrier and Shawn Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Doran Vail, Keith Adkins and Brandon Coffman. Earl Curtis, 78, of Harrodsburg, died Friday August 22, 2014. Born January 18, 1936 in Lincoln County, was the son of the late Tyre Arnold and Mary Jane Dunaway Curtis. Earl was a 1955 graduate of Hustonville High School and was a farmer. Earl is predeceased by a son Johnny Earl Curtis and siblings, Arnold Curtis, Clyde Curtis, Bernice Hanson, Irene McCloud, and Mattie Chandler.

Earl is survived by his daughter, Gina Curtis (Gary) Hunter of Parksville, a brother, Orville Curtis of Moreland, and a grand daughter, Rebecca Roark.

A visitation will be held after 6 p.m., Tuesday August 26, 2014 at Stith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be, David "Sonny" Collier, Jack Carey, Bruce Johnson, Elwood Randolph, Bobby Payne and Roger Bandy. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery at a later date.

Hester Loraine Davidson, 72, Floyd Switch Road passed away Tuesday December 18, 2001 at her residence.

She was born July 1, 1929, a daughter of the late Ray Caldwell and Elizabeth (Todd) Caldwell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Eubank Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Davidson, whom she married on November 28, 1946: two sons, Lloyd "Harley" (and Donna) Davidson Lawton, Okla. and Larry (and Debbie) Davidson Dickson, Tn.: two daughters, Janice (and Larry) McAninch Waynesburg, Ky. and Judy (and Virgil) Evans Celina, Tn.: two brothers, Carl Caldwell Brodhead, Ky. and Bert Caldwell Cincinnati, Ohio: two sisters, JoAnn Varab Argos, in. and Bernice Moore Waynesburg, Ky.: 6 grandchildren, Peggy, Jerry, Michelle, Faith, Brandon, Autumn and 2 step grandchildren, Shane & Jeremy: 12 great grandchildren.

Sandra Rae Duvall Davidson, 67 of KY passed away Tuesday, September 23rd, at Fort Logan Hospital. Sandra was born in Preachersville on Oct. 4, 1946. She was the daughter of Raymond and Lela McLemore DuVall. She was the wife of William Terry Davidson, Sr. whom she married August 28, 1965. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Born July 22, 1938 in Pine Hill, KY to the late Russell Frank and Alma Barnes Ramsey, she was a seamstress having worked at Cowden's Inc. for 15 years before working at Telstar Video in Stanford, KY for a number of years as well. She was also a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years: Hayes Deatherage of Stanford, KY, one son: Troy Deatherage (Christie) of Clarkston, MI, five brothers: Melvin Ramsey of Clarksville, IN, Gary Ramsey of Richmond, IN, Dennis Ramsey of Economy, IN, Jerry Ramsey of Danville, KY, and Ed Ramsey of Kissimmee, FL, one sister: Sandra Muse of Stanford, KY, three grandchildren: Trevor, Joshua, and Brandon Deatherage, and several nieces and nephews. Ronald Lee Denham, 74 of Stanford, formerly of Lexington, died August 30, 2014. Born September 8, 1939, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Lucille Young Denham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Denham. Survivors include his sons, Doug (Stephanie) Denham of Lexington and Jeff (C.J.) Denham of Butchertown; two grandchildren, Laura and Tyler Denham and a great grandchild, Lucas, all of Lexington; brother, Calvin Denham of Stanford; and three sisters: Sandra Grant, Betty Jo Long, both of Stanford and Louise Bailey of FL.

Virginia Denham, 91, of Stanford, KY passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 in New Albany, IN. Born July 22, 1923 in Crenshaw, MS to the late Carlos and Annie Earwood Leitchfield and she was the widow of the late Russell Denham.

Survivors include two sons: Tom S. Denham (Randee) and Terry M. Denham, one daughter: Linda Denham Amos, three grandchildren: Mark Wheeler, Jennifer Wheeler, and Michael Denham (Tracy), and five great-grandchildren: Sarah, Hayley, Ella, Caroline, and Benjamin Denham. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Visitation will be Monday, September 15, 2014 from 5-8pm at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 11am at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Patsy Ann Mullins Dowell, age 61, of Brad Petrey Road in Waynesburg, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at her residence. Born Monday, June 29, 1953 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Everett & Myrtle Evelyn Denney Mullins. Throughout her career, she worked in a factory and was a homemaker. Patsy was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and loved reading, working puzzles, watching cooking shows, and sitting on her picnic table in her spare time.

Patsy leaves behind three sons, Freamon Douglas Dowell (Crystal), Paul Ray Dowell, and Rodney Lee Dowell all of Waynesburg; one brother, Charles Mullins (Jean) of Crab Orchard; one sister, Phyllis Smith (Jeff) of Stanford; and five grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother Danny Mullins; and one infant sister, Sandra Fay Mullins.

Danielle Durham, age 25, of Danville, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Born Thursday, May 11, 1989 in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of David K. Durham (Jennifer) of Danville and Melissa Day-Chandler (James) of Danville. Danielle was of the Baptist faith and loved many outdoor activities.

In addition to her parents, Danielle leaves behind two “sisters”, Justice Monhollen and Ashley Bernstiel.

Betty Lee Farris, 70, of Shea Villa, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at her home. She is a native of Lincoln County, born Tuesday, December 21, 1937 to the late J.C. & Opal Marie Young Dawson.

Betty was a dispatcher for eight years, an EMT, a founding member of Stanford EMS, a former employee with Palm Beach and a member of the Calvary Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Larry Joe (Sheri) Brent and Edward (Mary) Warmouth, both of Stanford; two daughters, Tammy (Jay) Grue of Leesburg, FL and Pauletta (Darrell) Dowell of Broughtontown; a sister, Carolyn Halcomb of Brodhead; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
An Appreciation of Life service will be 1 pm Friday, November 21^st at Fox Funeral Home by Rev. Johnny Adamson with burial to follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Ray Franklin Jr., 77, of Stanford, KY passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. Born March 26, 1937 in Stanford, KY to the late Ray Sr. and Nellie Troxel Franklin, he served in the United States Navy from 1956-1959. He worked as a farmer for most of his life and was also a member of Dix River Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife of 6 years: Kathy Harris Franklin of Stanford, KY, three sons: Thomas Ray Franklin of McKinney, KY, Shane Franklin (Stephanie) of Stanford, KY, and Jeremy Wayne Franklin of Danville, KY, one daughter: Vicki Hume (Jackie) of Lancaster, KY, two step-sons: Wayne Denson and Stephen Denson both of Stanford, KY, one step-daughter: Michelle Walls (Mark) of Danville, KY, two sisters: Margaret Coontz of Hustonville, KY, and Pauline Shearer (Omer) of Stanford, KY, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Ruth Marvelene Gray, 84, passed away Wednesday April 30, 2014. Mrs. Gray was born August 22, 1929 in Lincoln County to the late Coleman and Lela
White Grubbs and was the widow of Jack D. Gray who passed away in 2012.

Mrs. Gray was a Charter member of Calvary Baptist Church and loved eating out followed by long drives in the country. She and her husband loved to travel and she was a wonderful Mother to her two sons.

Mrs. Gray is survived by her sons, Jimmy (Carla) Gray of Harrodsburg and Jackie (Donna) Gray of Danville, three grandchildren, Maggie Gray, Mackenzie Gray, and Jami Powell, two great-grandchildren, Emma Claunch, and Rylan Mobley, and a brother Charles (Martha) Grubbs of Louisville.

James Eulas Harness, 84, of Crab Orchard, KY, passed away on Monday, September 15th, peacefully, at his residence. He was the widower of Louise Griffin Harness whom he married on June 9, 1953. James was born in Lincoln County on January 29, 1930. He was the son of the late William Coy and Laura Nicholas Harness. He was a farmer and a member of New Hope First Church of God. He served in the U.S. Army.

Alva John Jacobs, 82, of Rt. 3, Waynesburg, Feb. 25 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Ky.
A native of Lincoln County, he was born July 11, 1904 to the late Lucy and Daniel Jacobs. He was a retired radiator repairman and a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Daisy Atwood Jacobs; a son Earl Jacobs, Westland, Mich.; two step sons, George Kidd and Ray Kidd of Monticello; a step daughter,
Doris Coffee, McCreary Co.; two brothers, Ernie Jacobs and Hubert Jacobs, both of Waynesburg; a sister, Zella Elkins, Orlando, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Daniel Jacobs, of Waynesburg, died Wednesday morning after a severe illness of two months.

Mr. Jacobs was 68 years of age, and was born in Virginia and came to Kentucky from Greenville, Ohio, about twenty-five years ago.

He was married twice and two children by his first wife are still living, a daughter in Richmond, Ind., and Harry Jacobs, the monument man of this city. His last wife
was Miss Lucy McMullin and to them were born seven children, four boys and three girls, all of whom are living.

Mr. Jacobs was a member of the 84th Indiana Volunteer Infantry, and served three years in the Civil War. At the time of his death he was a faithful member of the
Olive Baptist Church and died in the hope of a resurrection at the last day when God shall call forth his sleeping saints from their graves to give them the promised
reward for serving him in this life below. He was laid to rest in Olive cemetery.

On September 26, 2014, at 11:50AM, at Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, God called home His little angel, Remington Strong Jacobs, baby boy of Daniel & Tiffany Grider Jacobs of Stanford.

Services for Billy E. Johnson, 73, of Ila Avenue, Danville, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westside Community United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ernest Martin. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. He died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born in Moreland, he served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of Moreland United Methodist Church. He worked at General Electric Corp. in Louisville, and owned several businesses, including Lincoln Inn in Moreland, Johnson's Grocery in Milledgeville, Johnson's Texaco in Shelby City and K&B Wheel Alignment in Junction City.

He also was a former employee of Whirlpool Appliance Corp. and a Junction City Council member. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Phillips Johnson; a daughter, Teresa Lyons of Danville; a son, Eddie Johnson of Danville; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Elwood Randolph, Donnie Wilson, Bruce Johnson, Paul Bodner, John Toombs and Logan Young. Clara Louise Johnson, 84, of Danville died Monday, August 3, 2009. Born June 12, 1925 in Butchertown, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Tom and Annabell Southerland Wilcher. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. The widow of Bryant Johnson, Clara was predeceased by a son, Phillip Johnson.

She is survived by four daughters, Deloris Yates, Stanford, Jean (Donnie) Shearer, Jessamine Co., Lorene Campbell, Danville, Diane (Jess) Duvall, Danville; two sons, Jimmy (Penny) Johnson, Stanford and Bryant Herman (Sharon) Johnson, Danville; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Phillip (Barbara) Johnson, Polk, Ohio; twenty grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. The funeral will be 1 p.m., Thursday at Stith Funeral Home and Family Center, Junction City, with Rev. Dale Denton officiating.

Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Robert Lowell Johnson, 89 of Moreland died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014. Born August 5, 1925, he was the son of the late George and Bertha Poston Johnson.
He worked at Fred Cain Farm Equipment for over 30 years and was a US Navy Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Asbery Johnson; step son, Kenneth Reed of Middleburg; step granddaughter, Kim Reed of Middleburg, step grandson, Kenneth Reed, JR of Moreland and step great grandchild, Allison.

William Edward Jones, 71, of Stanford, KY passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. He was born March 22, 1943
in Lincoln County, KY to the late Velt and Anna Petrey Jones and was a farmer for most of his life.

Survivors include three brothers: Melvin Jones and Jackie Jones both of Stanford, KY, and Carl Jones of Waynesburg, KY, three sisters: Christine Yocum and Justeen Tucker both of Stanford, KY, and Mary Goens of Waynesburg, KY, and a host of nieces and nephews. Carrie Lee (Oaks) Kidd, 83 of Campbellsville formerly of Waynesburg, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was the widow of Ivan Kidd who preceded her in death in 1994. Carrie was born June 11, 1931 to the late Hurnon and Rosie (Denny) Oaks. She professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. Carrie enjoyed farming, gardening, canning and spending time with family and friends.

Edna Mae Lake, 92, of Crab Orchard, KY, passed away Thursday, September 18th, 2014. She is the widow of Scotty Lake.

Edna was born in Gates, Tennessee on November 17, 1921, a daughter of the late Dessie (Nelson) and Ed Zachery. She was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Debra "Debi" Denise Hogue Lowe, 41, of Monticello, KY passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She was born March 23, 1973 to Charles and Dolly Hogue in Fort Worth, TX.

She is survived by her son Tyler Lowe, of Monticello, KY; mother Dolly Hogue of Columbus, OH; two sisters Tammy Hoskins (Bernie) of McKinney, KY and Anna Borchers of Laguna Vista, TX; brothers, Bobby Jeffords of Columbus, OH, Frank Burgess (Debbie) of Bonaire, GA, and Luke Hogue (Shelby) of Cincinnati, OH. She was loved by seven nieces, six nephews, as well as aunts, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Hogue; a brother, Tim Hogue; maternal grandparents, Bob and Anna Mae Wells; and paternal grandmother, Mae Hogue.

A one day service will be held Friday, July 25th at New Salem Baptist Church in New Salem, KY. Visitation will begin at 11am with funeral service beginning at 12pm. Pearl Mullins, 97 of Hustonville was born Jan. 12, 1917 and died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy” H. Mullins. She is survived by a son, Harvey (Betty) Mullins of Hustonville; daughter, Betty Davis of Stanford; two brothers: Leroy and Tommy Hill; five grandchildren: Tina, Debbie, Anita, Bo and Timmy; 6 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Jesse G. Noakes, 68, of Broughtontown, passed away Saturday, October 4th, at the Golden Living Center in Stanford. Jesse was born in
Crab Orchard, KY on April 22, 1946. He was the son of the late Richard P. and Viola Mae (Brock) Noakes. He had previously worked for Collins Pallet Mill.

Survivors Include: Brother, Jim Noakes & His Wife Sheila of Eubank, KY, Brother, Johnny Noakes of Broughtontown.

Danny Privett’s life here on Earth ended on Friday, October 3, 2014, as he was taken to Heaven to be with the Angels. Danny was born Tuesday, March 12, 1940 to the late Minnie (Owens) & Virgil Privett. Danny deeply loved his family, children, horses, and classic cars, of which he had two. Danny won seven trophies, at area car shows, for a 1950 Ford.

Danny will be forever missed by his loving girlfriend of 30 years and caregiver since August 6, 2010, Valerie J. Bell of Stanford; one brother, Hester Privett (Lib) of Junction City; two daughters, Marcie (Edwards) Fisher of Lexington and Christie Griffitt of Harrodsburg; two sons, Donny Privett of Danville and Ricky Privett of Junction City; a special granddaughter, Malajah Danyelle Hodgens of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by four sisters, Eva, Opal, Lillie Mae, and Ruth; and four brothers, Emerson, Elvin, Lewis, and James.

Gladys Marie Coffman Raley, 79, passed away Saturday May 31, 2014. Mrs. Raley was born January 7, 1935 in Lincoln County to the late John William and Irene Lewis Coffman and was the widow of Joe Raley.

Mrs. Raley had a caring heart and would regularly help others in need. She was a member of Pleasant Run Baptist Church, VFW Post #3634 ladies auxiliary, American Legion Post #345 ladies auxiliary, enjoyed volunteering at the Salvation Army, and was a homemaker and loved caring for her children and family.

She is survived by three daughters, Charlotte Irene (Johnny) McConaha of Parksville, Melissa Jo (Deacon) Adcock of Danville, Mary Ellen (Randy) Coleman of Stanford, two grandsons, J.J. (Maggie) McConaha, Steven McConaha, a great-granddaughter, Aubrey McConaha, a brother, Johnnie William Coffman, three sisters, Emma Jean Mciver, Louise Belcher, and Birdie Mae Case.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joe, she was preceded in death by her son, Stevie Gene Raley, five brothers, Homer, Thomas, Chester, Wesley Coffman, and Billie Joe Caldwell, two sisters, Joan Raley and Birdie Daughtery.

Mary Lou Ballard Rice, 56, of Lancaster, KY passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. Born January 4, 1958 in Danville, KY to the late James Calvin and Mildred Ruth Haynes Ballard, she was an employee of the Garrard County Board of Education, and a member of Mount Moriah Christian Church.

Dawn Melinda DelFosse-Smith, 48, of Danville, passed away Monday, September 22nd, at her home. Dawn was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 17, 1966. She was a daughter of Helen Marie (Fletcher) DeBord and the late George Franklin DelFosse. She worked for the Social Security Administration and attended the New Hope First Church of God. Dawn was a Kentucky Colonel and was a loving mother, daughter, sister, niece and friend.

Dewan Correll Smith, age 85, of Pleasant View Drive in Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Thursday, January 31, 1929 in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Correll, Sr. and Thelma New Correll. Dewan worked in retail and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed making crafts and needlework.

Dewan leaves behind two sons, Gregory Howard Smith, Sr. of Fort Myers, Florida, and Ronald Lawrence Smith of Melbourne, Florida; one brother, Charles S. Correll, Jr. (Vicki) of Somerset; two sisters, Marie Bonner of Lancaster and Doris Lanigan (Jack) of Science Hill; four grandchildren, Noah Miller, Nathan Miller, Gregory Howard Smith, Jr., and Jennifer Stanhouse; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Valerie Cox of Moreland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Singleton and Janice Webster; and one granddaughter, Robin Michelle Smith.

Edward Snow, 93 of Hustonville died Monday, September 15, 2014. Born March 27, 1921, he was the son of the late Dee and Elizabeth Sharp Snow. He worked at Hub Frankel for 17 years, was a retired farmer and a WWII US Army Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dlettie Mae Wilcher Snow and two step-sons, Dale and Bobby Fair. He is survived by a step-daughter (Betty Fair (Earl Van) Pemberton of Danville; sister, Edith Sapp and six grandchildren: Alex, Rhonda, Vanessa, Jeanna, David and Robbie.

Services will be at 11 am, Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Rev. David Smith with burial in Reed Cemetery. Visitation is after 10 am, Thursday.

Gail Tolley Sparkmon, age 61, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at University Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born Sunday, August 16, 1953 in Waynesburg, she was the daughter of the late Carl & Flora Hines Tolley. Her loving husband is Glyn Sparkmon of Cincinnati, Ohio, whom she married June 12, 1971. Gail worked as an assembly line inspector and was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, and loved to quilt in her spare time.

In addition to her husband, Gail leaves behind two sons, Brian Sparkmon and Jason Sparkmon both of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven siblings, Jean Eldridge of Mt. Washington, Clayton Tolley (Doreen) of Science Hill, Georgeina Davis (Donald) of Harrodsburg, Anita Foley (Carmon) of Waynesburg, Michael Tolley (Brenda) of Hamilton, Ohio, Sharon Gillis (Larry) of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Irene Childers (Larry) of Waynesburg, and two honorary grandchildren, Savannah Embry and Brayden Embry.

Danny Stevens, 54 of Brodhead passed away Friday, September 19th, at his home. He was the husband of Teresa (Brown) Stevens whom he married October 4, 1980. Danny was born on March 30, 1961 in Springfield, Ohio to Helen (Broughton) Petrey and the late Orville D. Stevens. Danny had worked as a foreman for Ware Construction Company for 24 years. He was a very faithful and dedicated member of the Liberty Baptist Church and served as the church clerk. Danny loved horseback riding and he was a loving husband, son, father, brother, papaw and was a friend to many.

Willie Oscar “Bill” Tarkington II, age 83, of Sims Road in the New Salem Community of Lincoln County, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at his residence. Born Friday, February 27, 1931 in Briggs, Texas, he was the son of the late Willie Oscar & Theresa Tarkington. Bill was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a third grade elementary school teacher and was a farmer. He will be remembered for his love of animals.

Bill leaves behind one daughter, Anne Catherine Slone (Terry) of Georgetown; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Willie Oscar Tarkington III; two sisters, Cora-Lee and Naomi; and six half-brothers and sisters, Kate, Sammie, Josie, Paul, Louis, and Robert.

A Joint Graveside Military Memorial Service for Bill Tarkington and his former wife, Catherine Shearer, who passed April 8, 1992, will be held 11:00AM Monday, September 8, 2014 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery by the Caswell Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion.

Phyllis Ann Trent, 67 of Junction City, died Sunday September 21, 2014. Born April 26, 1947 on Knob Lick Road in Lincoln County, KY she was the daughter of the late Marion Columbus "Lum" and Mattie Lee Daugherty Adams. Phyllis attended Parksville School and loved dancing, bingo and spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her sister, Lorene Robbins and granddaughter, Amanda Diane Griffin.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Herlen Finley "Bee" Trent, her children, Danny (Twanna) Trent of Boyle County, Meloney (Kenny) Griffin of Hustonville and Mary (Danny) Griffin of Hustonville; her sisters, Elsie Lucas of New York, NY and Ora Lee Richie of Sevierville, TN; four grandchildren, Joni (Jonathon) Vaught, Kimberly Griffin, Tiffine Griffin, and Matthew Griffin, and three great granddaughters, Emma, Andi and Hannah Vaught.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday September 24, 2014 at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City, with Brother Don Clark officiating. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Trent, Kenny Griffin, Danny Griffin, Jeff Lowery, Jesse Rothwell and Jonathon Vaught. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be after 12 p.m. Wednesday September 24, 2014 at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City.

Edith Marie Trowbridge, age 82, of South Shady Lane in Eubank, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. Born Thursday, December 18, 1930 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Levi & Ada Taylor Gastineau. She was the widow of the late Vernon Eugene “Gene” Trowbridge, who preceded her in death on April 2, 1996. Edith worked as a farmer, where she enjoyed cutting hay on her John Deere tractor. She also was a homemaker.

Edith leaves behind one son, Larry Trowbridge (Betty) of Somerset; two daughters, Sherry Spigle and Bridgett Cress (Doug) both of Eubank; two brothers, Lloyd Gastineau (Debbie) of Stanford and Lindell Gastineau (Linda) of Eubank; one sister, June Dickhaus of Waynesburg; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandson, Jacob, due in December.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Willard Gastineau.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Monday, November 25, 2013 at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.

The Visitation will be held 5-8PM Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the funeral home.Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home, Waynesburg, is entrusted with Edith’s arrangements.

Marjorie T. Williams, 91, passed away Friday June 20, 2014. She was born April 28, 1923 in Kings Mountain, Kentucky to the late Ollie and Gertrude Hamilton Thompson and was the widow of Herbert A. Williams. Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by her two children, Ted Williams and Susan Williams.

Mrs. Williams, along with her husband were both nurses while he was in the military in Germany during World War II. She was a member of the Baptist faith, was an animal lover whose favorite color was Blue. She collected cookbooks, enjoyed flowers and butterflies, looked forward to thoroughly reading the newspaper every day and loved to read magazines to search out new recipes.

Mrs. Williams is survived by three siblings; two brothers, Conrad (Juanita) Thompson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Eldred Thompson of Stanford, and Marilyn McCurdy of Palm Desert, California.

The funeral service will be 1:00p.m., Tuesday June 24, 2014 at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Pastor Choe Sergent officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be 2:30p.m. at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
