Alford, 67, died Sept. 9, 2008, in Lincoln County.
Born March 2,
1941, in Stanford, he was a son of the late Garrett and Beryl Thomas Marlowe
Alford. He was a farmer and a janitor at Lexington House in Taylor, Mich., and a
member of Southfork Baptist Church.
Survivors
include a brother, Thomas (Charlotte) Alford of Lexington; two sisters, Alice A.
Wilson and Elvria Campbell, both of Stanford; and several nieces and nephews,
including his caretaker, Denny Alford.
Funeral
services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home & Family Center in
Junction City, Ky. Burial will be in Waterson Cemetery in Lincoln County.
Pallbearers
will be Adam Alford, Grant Alford, Ricky Alford, Eddie McElroy, Harold Campbell
and Alden Alford.
Visitation
will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home & Family Center in Junction
City.

Clarence R. Barnett, 82, of Waynesburg died Aug. 29, 2008, at Fort Logan
Hospital in Stanford.
Born March
14, 1926, in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late Dan Borden Barnett and
Marie Daulton Edwards. He also is preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia
Trowbridge Barnett.
C.R. Barnett
was a licensed funeral director and embalmer with Barnett & Demrow Funeral
Home in Waynesburg for more than 57 years, and helped organize the Waynesburg
Area Rescue Squad. He was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church, a veteran
of World War II, a member of the American Legion Post 18, a member and past
master of the Waynesburg Masonic Lodge for more than 60 years, and served as
Lincoln County coroner from 1961-1973.
Survivors
include his wife, Selma Conatser Barnett of Waynesburg; a son, Dan Barnett
(Jane) of Stanford; daughters Sue Ann Hall (Boyd) of Science Hill and Clara Rae
Hought (Don) of Lexington; a stepson, Sherman Conatser (Sally) of Stanford; two
stepdaughters, Judy McGuffey (Randy) of Waynesburg and Regina Martin (Dennis) of
Stanford; two sisters, Pauline Wiese and Charlotte Magazzeni, both of Somerset;
13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral
services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home with the
Revs. Vola Brown and Ron Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo
Springs Cemetery with Masonic services by Waynesburg Masonic Lodge and
military services by Caswell Saufley Post No. 18.
Pallbearers
will be members of the Waynesburg Masonic Lodge. Honorary pallbearers are all
funeral directors.

84, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2004, at The Forum at
Brookside. A native of Stanford, KY, she was the former Ann C. Brunswick. She
was a retired self-employed home builder and a member of Shively Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William R. Bloyd, son, (Paul) Tom Bloyd and his
wife, Fay, and a granddaughter, Sarah Grace Bloyd .
Her
funeral will be held at noon Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy.,
with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday

Gladys Eloise Elam Bourne, 84, of
Lancaster, died Wednesday, Aug. 27 at her home.
A native of Lincoln County, she was
born Aug. 6, 1924 to the late Jesse Albert Elam and Delia Belle McQuerry Elam.
She was a farmer, had worked at Cowdens Manufacturing and Gaskins Grocery
in Lancaster, at Collectors Paradise Antiques, and as a custodian for the
Fayette County Board of Education. She was a member of Lancaster Baptist Church
in Lancaster, served on the Garrard County Senior Citizens Advisory Committee,
and as secretary for the Garrard County Walker-Bluegrass Foxhunters Association.
She also loved to fish, quilt, and do needlework.
She was also preceded in death by her
husband, Adolph Bourne; and a son, Gary Arthur Bourne.
Survivors include two daughters, Bessie
Louise Robinson of Lancaster and Johnetta (Doug) Rhodus of Berea; one son, Jesse
Gordon (Carolyn) Bourne of Lancaster; four sisters, Helen and Barbara Starnes,
Lucy Rose, and Cloyd Naylor; three brothers, J.W (Buddy), Donald (Donnie), and
William (Bill) Elam; eight grandchildren, Kendall Allen Robinson, Harold Douglas
Rhodus, Connie Jo Rhodus Wells, Jesse Newton Bourne, Cynthia Renee Bourne, Gary
Arthur Bourne II, Jeffrey Lynn Bourne, and Julie Ann Bourne Allison; and seven
great-grandchildren, Eric Shane Wells, Kevin Douglas and Rachel Johnetta Rhodus,
Mariah Faith and MaLaney Brooklin Bourne, Mason Alexander Bourne and Destiny
Faith Allison.
Active pallbearers were the eight
grandchildren, Kendall Allen Robinson, Harold Douglas Rhodus, Connie Jo Rhodus
Wells, Jesse Newton Bourne, Cynthia Renee Bourne, Gary Arthur Bourne II, Jeffrey

Matthew Wade Brumett, 24, of Waynesburg passed away on Friday in Casey County at
the home of his grandmother.
He was born
on Dec. 27, 1983, to Paul and Valerie Wahl Brumett, both of Waynesburg.
Matt was a
2002 graduate of Lincoln County High School and played basketball from
kindergarten until graduation. Matt was a sports enthusiast and was the joint
caretaker for his grandmother, Mary Ethel Wahl of Kings Mountain. He shared that
responsibility with his brother, Phillip. They have cared for the needs of their
grandmother for many years.
Matt leaves
behind a wife, Karen Hill Brumett of Burnside; two sons, Peyton and Eli Brumett
of Stanford; their caretakers, Aunt and Uncle Cathy and George Pleasants of
Stanford; two brothers, David R. (Brooke) Brumett of Berea and Phillip
"Bum" Brumett of Waynesburg; his maternal grandmother, Mary Ethel Wahl
of Kings Mountain; his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Brumett of Waynesburg;
and a host of family and friends.
Matt was
preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Marvin Wahl, and paternal
grandfather, Ernie Brumett.
A Remembrance
of Life service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home with
Brother Mike Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in K.P. Hall Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Phillip,
Mark, Chase and Richard Brumett, Rodney Wahl and George Pleasants will serve as
pallbearers. Eli and Peyton Brumett, his sons; Nathaniel Brumett, his nephew;

William King. She was a homemaker and a member of Hustonville Baptist Church.

Lidabel Jones Cochran, 80, of Hustonville died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008.
Born Jan 13,
1928, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late W.L. and Sally Estes
Jones. She was a retired elementary school teacher and a member of Hustonville
Christian Church where she was the organist.
Survivors
include her husband of 60 years, Burton Cochran; two daughters, Vicki (Dirk)
Cotton of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Linda Rhinehart of Hustonville; a brother, Bill

Richard "Dick" Cooper, 86, of Stanford died Thursday at Fort Logan
Hospital.
Born Oct. 1,
1921, in Stanford, he was the son of the late Elmer and Hulda Lind Cooper.
Richard worked as a farmer and was a member of the Fort Logan Church of Christ.
He also was a former member and treasurer of Turnersville Christian Church.
Richard was a
past leader of Lincoln County 4-H and member of Lincoln County Cattleman's
Association.
He was
preceded in death by two wives, Roberta Beazley Cooper and Nancy Faulkner
Cooper; and a sister, Edith King.
Survivors
include two sons, Dickie (Sue) Cooper of Stanford and William G. (Marci) Cooper
of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Margaret Ann Turner of Stanford; two stepsons,
Charles Sam (Alice) Gilliland of Danville and Dickie (Dorothy) Faulkner of
Stanford; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two nieces; and four
nephews.
Visitation
will be 5 p.m. Saturday at Spurlin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m.
Sunday at the funeral home, officiated by Wayne Galloway. Burial will be in Buffalo

- Calvin Johnson "Red" Dunn, 75, of Crab Orchard passed away after an
extended illness at Charleston Healthcare Center in Danville. He was the husband
for 52 years of Beulah Nelson Dunn, who survives.
Born Oct. 13,
1932, in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Charles and Sula Ray Dunn. He was
a retired employee of 29 years of Tecumseh Products of Somerset. He also was
owner of Dunn Concrete Finishing and a member and trustee of First Baptist
Church of Crab Orchard.
Additional
survivors include a daughter, Victoria Dunn of Crab Orchard; six sisters,
Carolyn (Michael) Runyon and Charlie Peoples, both of Lexington, and Charlotte

Fairley Hasty, age 64, of Calhoun, died Tuesday afternoon August 12th in Gordon
Hospital.
Lonnie was born
May 31, 1944 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. The son of the late Carlton Elijah and
Verlin Helton Hasty. He was a retired mail carrier with the United States Postal
Service with 30+ years of Service. He was a member of the Watts Chapel Baptist
Church in Crab Orchard, KY as well as Master Mason with the Coosawattee Masonic
Lodge #306. Served in the local Ga Army National Guard Unit 108th Armored
division. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers;
Aolbert and Delmus Hasty.
Survivors
include his wife Charlotte Alred Hasty, two sons; Douglas Hasty and his wife
Charlin and Greg Hasty and his wife Katie all of Calhoun. Two grandchildren:
Carolyn Hasty and Garrett Hasty, three brothers; Delbert and Bonnie Hasty of
Cincinnati, Ohio, Ralph Hasty of Weaverville, N.C. ,Michael and Elda Hasty of
Sugar Valley, Ga., four sisters; Imogene and Glenn Dockdry of Gaylesville, Al,
Wanda Frix of Calhoun, Janet Swanson of Calhoun and Augusta and James Ray Manuel
of Crab Orchard , KY, along with several nieces and nephews also survives.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday August
14th at 2 pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Dr. Bert Vaughn
officiating. Burial will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. The Coosawattee
Masonic Lodge #306 will have charge of the graveside rites. Pallbearers serving
include; Billy Neal, Buck McBee, Jack Brown, Richard Wright, Charley McBee,
Mitch Frix, Phillip Beamer and Jim Johnson and they are asked to meet at the

"Rose" Hines, 70, of Stanford died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell
Regional Medical Center. The daughter of Dorothy Wilson Hubble of Moreland and
the Late Ruby Lee Hubble, she was born Feb. 12, 1938, in Liberty, Ky.
She was the
widow of James Hines and a homemaker. She is survived by three daughters,
Patricia Hines of Lexington, Ky., and Pamela Hines and Susan Moore, both of
Moreland, Ky.; four sons, Paul Lee (Deborah) Hines of Moreland, Ky., Daniel
(Stacy) Alexander of Bowling Green, Ky., and James David Hines and Timothy
Alexander, both of Danville, Ky.; a special friend, David Young of Perryville;
three sisters, Jamie (James) Trisler of Harrodsburg, Ky., Francena Phillips and
Rita (Bobby) Craig, both of Danville, Ky., two brothers, Donnie (Pat) Hubble of
Harrodsburg, Ky., and Ronnie (Ruby) Hubble of Moreland, Ky.; and seven

- Donald Ray Ledford, 73, of Stanford passed away Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at his
residence. He was the widower of Dorothy (Spears) Ledford, who died Nov. 3,
2002.
Donald was
born in Lincoln County on March 19, 1935. He was the son of the late Brack Cox
and Etta Irene (Ballard) Ledford. He worked as a farmer.
He is
survived by a daughter, Janetta Lynn Ledford of Stanford; sons, Finley (Tammy)
Ray of Sonora, Robbie (Michelle) Lee of Stanford, Roger (Joann) Allen of
Stanford and Harold (Lisa) Joseph of Stanford; one brother, Brack (Verna)
Ledford of Stanford; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition
to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ailenen
Hendrickson and Ethel Firth; a brother, Harold Francis; and two half-brothers,
Roy B. and Franklin Ledford.

presided over by brother Harold Harness will be 1 p.m. Friday at McKnight

- Mr. Richard W. "Dick" Ledford Sr., 78, of Crab Orchard died Friday,
Aug. 8, 2008, at Ephraim McDowell in Danville.
He was the
husband of Bonnie Preston Ledford, whom he married June 21, 1996.
Richard was
born July 20, 1930, in Paint Lick. He was the son of the late James P. Ledford
Sr. and Winnie Jane Baker Ledford. He was a former Lincoln County school bus
driver, a farmer and retired employee of Whirlpool Corp. He was a member of
Watts Chapel Baptist Church, where he was a former Sunday school treasurer and
secretary. He was a veteran of the Air Force, having served during the Korean
War. He was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and a Bronze Star
medal with valor.
Survivors
include his wife; a son, Dickie (Paula) Ledford of Crab Orchard; a daughter,
Debbie (Kenny) Harris of Stanford; a stepson, John White of Lancaster; a sister,
Liane Dear of Crab Orchard; two brothers, Buddy (Sarah) Ledford of Danville and
Johnny (Jo) Ledford of Frankfort; six grandchildren, Jody, David, Brian, Jeremy,
Ashley and Derek; and four great-grandchildren, Carter, Chloe, Blake and
Kinsley.
Funeral
services will be 2 p.m. Monday at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel by Brother Dan
Gutenson. Burial will follow in Crab Orchard Cemetery with military rites
by Caswell Saufley American Legion Post No. 18 of Stanford.

- Raymond Manuel, 90, of Crab Orchard died Friday at Rockcastle Health and
Rehabilitation Center in Brodhead.
Born April
28, 1918, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late John and Jenny Lawson
Manuel. He was the widower of Dora Lee Manning Manuel, who preceded him in death
on Sept. 12, 2001. He was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church, a retired
farmer and a former employee of National Casket Co.

Regional Medical Center.
She was born
in Lincoln County to the late Manles and Grace Lasure. Florence was a bank clerk
for Bank One in Lexington for 26 years. She was a member of Stanford Baptist
Church.
Survivors
include five brothers, Charles E. Lasure, John W. Lasure, Manles Lasure Jr.,

She was

- Jazemine Hope Morgan, three days of age, passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at
the University of Kentucky Hospital. She was the daughter of Angela Faith Day
and Jerry Morgan, both of Mount Vernon. She was born Aug. 28, 2008.
In addition
to her parents, survivors include her twin sister, Madison Faith Morgan;
maternal grandmother, Gloria Day, of Mount Vernon; maternal grandparents Benny
and Sharon Day of Stanford; maternal great-grandparents, Juanita Falin of
Broadhead and Shirley McClure of Mount Vernon; and maternal great-grandmother,
Ruth Day of Stanford. Several uncles, aunts and cousins survive.
Jazemine was
preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Jerry Day.

Thomson-Hood Veterans Center.

1922, in Waynesburg, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Lula Elizabeth Hall
Padgett. He was a carpenter and a member of the Baptist faith. He was an Army
veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater, a bronze star

and American Legion.

- Bro. Cecil Roundtree, 85, of Crab Orchard, Ky., passed away on Sunday morning
Aug. 17, 2008, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. He was the husband of
June Pollard Roundtree, whom he married June 21, 1988. He was preceded in death
by his first wife Vaunda Strunk Roundtree on Sept. 6, 1987.
Born May 22,
1923, in Stearns, Ky., he was the son of William Esbon and Vica Anderson
Roundtree. He was a minister who had previously pastored various churches
throughout Lincoln, Rockcastle and Pulaski counties. He also had a jail ministry
for many years at Pulaski and Lincoln county jails. He was a member of Immanuel
Baptist Church in Crab Orchard.
In addition
to farming his entire life, he mined coal for 10 years and was a 36-year member
of the Bricklayers and Associated Crafts Local Union, Kentucky No. 17.
In addition
to his wife, June Pollard Roundtree, survivors include five children, Cecil Ray
and wife Janet Scharf Roundtree of London, Ky., Edna Ruth and husband Robert
Jones of Salvisa, Ky., Barbara Elaine and husband Lewis Coffey of Mount Vernon,
Ky., Brenda Lou and husband Ronald Rose of Crab Orchard, Ky., Renita Joy and
husband Rick Reynolds of Brodhead, Ky.; a brother, Robert and wife Brenda
Roundtree of Dayton, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rhonda; and three sisters, Emma Lou and

Mullins Brown. She was a retired employee of Certified Brake. Wanda was a
Christian and loved listening to John Hagee Ministries. She was an avid quilter
and enjoyed canning and cooking. Most of all she will be remembered for her love
of life and laughter.

include four sons, Kenny Pendygraft of Moreland, and Benny Pendygraft, Eddie
Pendygraft and Louis Pendygraft, all of Danville; a brother, Charles M. Brown of

- Martha Gover Scott, 95, of Crab Orchard passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008,
at her home.
Born May 22,
1913, in Crab Orchard, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Katie
King Gover. She was married for 57 years to the late Clark Newland Scott, who
preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1990.
She began
working as a teller for Crab Orchard Banking Co. then became CEO of Lincoln
County National Bank, having worked for 44 years. She was co-owner and manager
of Gover and Scott's Dry Good Store, which was on Main Street in Crab Orchard.
She also drove a school bus for the Crab Orchard School System.
Martha was a
member of Crab Orchard Christian Church, having joined when she was 12 years
old. She served as church secretary and had been a leader of the CYRO youth
organization at the church.
She served on
the board of directors of Fort Logan Hospital and Crab Orchard Cemetery. She was
a member of several organizations, including the Lincoln County Historical
Society, Professional Business Women's Club and Lincoln County Homemakers
Association. She also was a member of the Winnebago Club and Fox Hunters
Association of Kentucky. She served as secretary of the Little World's Fair
Horse Show.
She was a
graduate of Crab Orchard High School where she was a member of the girls'
basketball team and was the first recipient of the school's Distinguished Alumni
Award. She also was a graduate of Fugazzi Business College.
An
accomplished musician, she played saxophone in the orchestra at Crab Orchard
Springs Hotel. She served as Grand Marshall of the Crab Orchard Fourth of July
parade.
She had an
interest in local history and wrote, directed and staged pageants celebrating
Lincoln County's historical events. She also was the coordinator of the Crab
Orchard Bicentennial Celebration.
Martha and
her husband shared the distinguished award for outstanding citizens. She also
was an avid University of Kentucky fan.
She leaves to
cherish her memory two nieces, June King Gover Bastin and husband Marion Dee of
Stanford, Ky., and Lea Shepherd Scott Wooldridge and husband Donald of Stanford,
Ky.; two nephews, James Wallace Gover of Crab Orchard, and Marshall Brown Scott
and wife Sandy of Crab Orchard, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Mattie Gover of Crab
Orchard; nine great-nieces and -nephews; six great-great-nieces and -nephews;
and her caregivers, Carol Buckler, Missy Newcomb, Betty Seibers, Linda Ray and
Teressa Brown.
She was
preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Katie Gover King; her husband,
Clark Newland Scott; and two brothers, Curtis King Gover and Jimmy T. Gover.

CRAB ORCHARD
- Elizabeth Humber Snodgrass, daughter of the late Clara Humber, was born March
11, 1917, and departed this life July 24, 2008, after a long illness.
She joined
the First Baptist Church in Crab Orchard at an early age. Elizabeth was united
in holy matrimony to the late Robert Snodgrass and to this union 12 children
were born and three of whom preceded her in death.
She leaves to
cherish her memory nine children, Walter H. (Lena) Snodgrass of Lexington,
Claude M. (Lucille) of Danville, Clara C. Slaughter of Mount Sterling, James A.
Snodgrass of Stanford, Brenda J. Terrance of Louisville, Marshall W. (Iva)
Snodgrass of Nicholasville, Bessie M. (Bradley) Helm of Crab Orchard, Morris J.
Snodgrass of Crab Orchard, Serena K. (Wesley) Burnside of Danville; 27
grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and a host
of other relatives and friends.
She was
preceded in death by her children, Anne Rucker, Charles Ray and Gill Snodgrass;
a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Robinson; and stepson, Robert Snodgrass Jr.
Visitation
will be 6-8 p.m. today at McKnight Funeral Home.
Funeral
services will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Crab Orchard with the
Rev. Oliver Miller Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Crab Orchard
Cemetery.

SPARKMAN,
Roger Lee
1944-2008
STANFORD -
Roger Lee Sparkman, 64, of Stanford died Wednesday at his home. He was born Aug.
24, 1944, in Louisville to the late Herbert and Stella Collins Sparkman.
Roger was the
former owner of Sparkman's Paint in Danville. He was a member of the Fairview
Baptist Church, VFW, American Legion and DAV.
He his
survived by his wife of 44 years, Saundra Morgan Sparkman. Other survivors
include a son, Roger Lee Sparkman Jr. of Stanford; a daughter, Tammy Jo Sparkman
of Stanford; a brother, Bobby Sparkman of Stanford; a sister, Juanita Bates of
Colorado Springs, Colo.; and five grandchildren, Leah, Abby and Seth Sparkman,
and Ryan and Stella Short. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Visitation is
5-9 p.m. today at Spurlin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday,
officiated by the Rev. Johnny Baker, with burial following at Camp Nelson
National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby James, Harvey Naylor, Rob Lafoon,
Mike VanHook, Bobby Pollard and Ed Hyden. Honorary bearers are from VFW of
Danville, with military honors by Caswell Saufley Post 18.

Elsie Saylor Stevens, 71, of Crab
Orchard, died Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Rockcastle Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
A native of Lincoln County, she was
born June 14, 1937 to Blanche Hopkins Saylor and the late Jack Saylor. She was a
member of the Crab Orchard Church of Christ.
She was also preceded in death by
brothers, J. D., Fred, Walter and Mack Saylor.
Other survivors include her husband,
J.W. Stevens of Crab Orchard; sisters, Linda Dowell and Lillie Mae Parker both
of Crab Orchard; and brothers, Truman and Tom Saylor both of Crab Orchard and
Ted Saylor of Somerset.
Visitation is tonight (Sept. 5) after 6
p.m. at McKnight Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 6 at McKnight Funeral Home in Crab Orchard with Bro. J.M.
"Mark" Raulerson officiating. Burial will be in Crab Orchard
Cemetery.

Ruby G. Blankenship

CRAB ORCHARD
- Mrs. Ruby G. Todd, 87, of Broughtontown passed away on Monday, July 21, 2008,
at Rockcastle Health & Rehabilitation Center in Brodhead. She was the widow
of Homer L. Todd, who preceded her in death on April 6, 2000.
Born April
22, 1921, in Lincoln County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late James A. and
Christine Noakes Blankenship. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors
include two sons, Larry (Ann) Todd and Tony (Betty) Todd, both of Broughtontown,
Ky.; five grandchildren, Keith (April) Todd, Lauren (Vernon) Hensley and Ramona
(Jeff) Barker, all of Broughtontown, Rebecca (Brian) Shearer of Stanford and
Rachel (Alex) Martin of London, Ky.; and five great-grandchildren, Kevin Todd,
Latosha Hensley, Trinity Shearer, Talynne Shearer and Alexis Martin.
Ruby was
preceded in death by her parents, James and Christine Blankenship; husband,
Homer Todd; brothers, Roy, Leslie, Harry, Jasper, William and Oscar Blankenship;
and sisters, Florence Brown, Beatrice Smith, and Hattie, Katherine and Margaret
Blankenship.
Services will
be 11 a.m. Friday at Friendship Baptist Church by Bro. Cecil Roundtree. Burial
will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers
will be Brian Shearer, Jeff Barker, Vernon Hensley, Alex Martin, and Dexter and
Leroy Todd.
Visitation
will be after 6 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Friendship Baptist Church.

Cleora Kidd
Westerfield, 81, wife of J.D. Westerfield, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in
Frankfort.
Born Nov. 7,
1926, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ollie Blevins Kidd. She worked
for the state of Kentucky in Frankfort and was a member of Calvary Baptist
Church in Danville, Ky.
In addition
to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Grace (Edward) McLean of
Frankfort, Ky.; a son, Roger (Debbie) Cannada of Georgetown, Ky.; two stepsons,
James (Terry) Westerfield and John (Bonnie) Westerfield, both of Danville; a
brother, Billy Kidd of Bardstown, Ky.; two sisters, Nola Flynn and Lennie Short,
both of Danville; a daughter-in-law, Irene Cannada of Georgetown, Ky.; 13
grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was
preceded in death by a son, Ricky Cannada, and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral
services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home and Family Center in
Junction City with the Rev. Ernest Martin, the Rev. Doug Wesley and the Rev.
Kenny Robinson.
Honorary
pallbearers are members of the Lydia Sunday School Class at Calvary Baptist
Church.
A graveside
service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3250 Versailles
Road, Frankfort, Ky.
