SCIENCE HILL - Thomas M. Adington, 78, of Kings Mountain, died Sunday at home.
Born March 19, 1919, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late William F. and Minerva Horn Adington. He was a farmer and 
an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Cleve Dunn Post 7101, Stanford.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Sims Adington; a son, Norman Adington of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Pam Sees of Huntington, 
Ind.; a sister, Mabel Montgomery of Vincennes, Ind.; and a granddaughter.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home by the Rev. Gordon Chaney. Burial will be in
Double Springs 
Cemetery

MORELAND - Services for Marie Ball, 79, of Lancaster, will be 2 p.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be 
in Poplar Grove Cemetery, Casey County.  
She died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born Dec. 19, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Ed and Sarah 
Lane Asberry. She was a homemaker and a member of White Oak Christian Church.  
Survivors include her husband, H.C. Ball; a daughter, Betty Votaw of Lancaster; two sons, Carol Ball and Eddie Ball, both of 
Lancaster; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  
Pallbearers will be Aaron and Chris Ball, Bryan Clark, Paul Burns, Charles, Jeff and Frebrin Asberry. Honorary pallbearers are 
Brock Coleman, Sarah Ball, Crystal Coleman and DeSha Pierce. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

STANFORD- Myrtle Wood Bastin, 75, of Nicholasville, died Sunday at home.
Born Oct. 27, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Bell Wilson Wood. She was a retired 46-year Avon representative 
and a member of New Covenant First Church of God. She was the widow of Herbert G. Bastin.
Survivors include a son, Rickey Bastin of Nicholasville; two brothers, Harry Wood of Lexington and Freddie Wood of Leesville, 
La.; a sister, Georgia M. Morgan of Mountain Home, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Tim Price. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Marion Bastin, Conley Bastin, Randy Olson, Benny Pivonka, Darby Gill and Edd Morrow.

STANFORD -- Services for Pida Lanham Berry, 87, of Logan Avenue, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Spurlin Funeral Home by 
the Rev. Carroll Jasper. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
She died Tuesday at her home. 
Born May 16, 1912, in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Briscoe P. and Mary L. Phillips Lanham. She was 
a homemaker and a member of Neals Creek United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Richard Berry. 
Survivors include five daughters, Betty Miracle, Effie Taylor, Blanche Moore and Aileen Berry, all of Stanford, and Lois Miracle 
of Somerset; two sons, Elmer Berry of Frankfort and Russell D. Berry of Waynesburg; a brother, C.H. Lanham of Louisville; 
two sisters, Eunice O'Daniel of Lebanon and Lucille H. Ziegler of Coal City, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by a son, R.B. Berry.

STANFORD - Services for Melissa G. Humes Bishop, 26, of McCormack Church Road, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at New Hope 
Baptist Church by the Revs. Dan Gutenson and Burl Coffman. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
She died Monday of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Born July 21, 1971, in Pulaski County, she was a daughter of Evelyn Smith Humes of Hustonville and Larry Watts of Scotts Depot, 
W.V. She was employed by Kentucky Orthopedic Surgeons, Lexington, and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was a 
1989 graduate of Lincoln County High School.
Additional survivors include her husband, Sammy Bishop; a stepson, Willie Bishop of Stanford; a stepdaughter, Samantha Bishop 
of Stanford; stepmother, Mary Watts of Scotts Depot; stepfather, Carrol Gene Watts of Hustonville; two brothers, Dean Humes 
of Gissen, Germany, and Michael Humes of Hustonville; a sister, Kloma Marie Watts of Ashland; maternal grandfather, Cecil Smith 
of Hustonville; and paternal grandparents, John and Kloma Watts of Durham, N.C.
Pallbearers are Jeff Elmore, Mike Smith, Jimmy Watts, Gary Burchfield, Mike Cooper and Mike Maples.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and 8 a.m.-noon Thursday at Fox Funeral Home and 1 p.m. Thursday until time of service at the church.

He died Monday at his home.
Born Oct. 20, 1910, in Duck Run, he was a son of the late John W. and Alice C. Martin Bryant. He was a farmer and a World War II 
Navy veteran and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Kidd Bryant; five sons, Lester, Wesley and David Bryant, all of Crab Orchard, Lesley Bryant 
of Richmond and W. Henry Bryant of Brodhead; five daughters, Alene Irvin and Kathleen Denny of Brodhead, Irene Bishop, Wilmaleen 
Singleton and Sheila Downs, all of Mount Vernon; three stepsons, Mark and Dawayne Denny, both of Brodhead, and Keith Denny of

He died Tuesday in Hopkinsville.
Born March 9, 1925, in Hopkinsville, he was a former owner of Waynesburg Lumber Co.
Survivors include a caretaker, Mary Webster of Highland; a brother, Anthony Coppola of New York; and a sister, Vicki Barren 
of New York.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Friday until time of services.

She died Sunday at Stanford House Nursing Home. 
Born Jan. 14, 1929, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of Margaret E. Osborne Miracle of Richmond and the late Lloyd B. 
Miracle. She was a retired employee of Palm Beach Co., Danville, and a member of Perryville Baptist Church. 
Other survivors include a son, Gary L. Davenport of Danville; two brothers, Rex A. Miracle and Joe Miracle, both of Stanford; 
three sisters, Jewell McCowan of Middleburg, Judy Denham of Stanford and Wanda King of Richmond; two grandchildren; and 
a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Sean Davenport, Mike McCormick, Ottis Delk and Rex, Clinton and Joe Miracle. Honorary pallbearers are 
Chris Hall and Sarah and Laura Morgan.

Born Aug. 1, 1962, in Marion, Ind., she was a daughter of the late William W. and Catherine Cook Reed. She was a factory worker.
Survivors include a son, Stephen Reed of Versailles; three brothers, William H. Reed of Kings Mountain, Christopher Reed of Yosemite 
and Tony C. Reed of Florida.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at
Hustonville Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.

She died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 18, 1913, in Louisville, she was daughter of William J. and Carrie Kellner. She was a homemaker and a member of St. 
Patrick Catholic Church, Junction
City.
Survivors include her husband, Christian D. Driesler; two daughters, Mary Jane Carter of Lancaster and Doris A. Malady of 
Jeffersonville, Ind.; a brother, Irvin
Kellner of Louisville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She died Monday at Charleston Health Care Center. 
Born March 13, 1903, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Preston and Hattie Fowler Peck. She was a Lincoln Theater 
ticket seller, and the widow of William T. Dudderar. She was a member of Harris Memorial Methodist Church, a graduate of Hamilton 
College, and a member and past regent of Logan- Whitley Daughters of American Revolution. She also was a volunteer at Fort Logan 
Hospital for many years. 
Survivors include a daughter, Betty D. Sims of Danville; and a sister, Margaret Faulkner of Stanford. 
Visitation is 1-3 p.m. Friday.

Home by Brad King and the Rev. Burney Manning. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.  She died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born Feb. 12, 1923, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Luvena Williams Spaw. She was the widow of 
Ira Bates and Walter C. Dunham.

Survivors include a son, Ronnie Bates of Waynesburg; a daughter, Ellen Tarter of Cincinnati; a sister, Wilma Case of Indianapolis; 
eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry D. Bates.

She died Thursday at home after an illness.

She was a homemaker and a member of Polly Ann Baptist Church.

William David Edmiston, 88, of Lexington, formerly of Danville, died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Sept. 1, 1910, in Crab Orchard, he was a son of the late William D. and Lou Ada McWhorter Edmiston. 
He was owner and operator of Boyle Lumber and Supply Co. for 35 years, attended University of Kentucky College of Commerce |
and was a member, former deacon and Sunday School teacher of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. 
He was a past president of Danville Chamber of Commerce, past president of Kentucky Retail Lumber Dealers Association, and 
was a founding member or Boyle County Industrial Foundation.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Edmiston; a brother, Roy Edmiston of Danville; a sister, LaRene Edmiston of Danville; and three 
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Lewis Lenn.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will be in
Bellevue Cemetery.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home.

CRAB ORCHARD - Florence Ethel Hicks Edwards, 88, of Crab Orchard, died Tuesday at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born Dec. 10, 1915, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Lucy E. Lafevers Butt. She was the widow of 
Frank Edwards. She was a former Sunday school teacher and Berean Bible Class member at Watts Chapel Baptist Church, where 
she had been a member since 1951.
Survivors include a son, Robert L. Edwards of Stanford; three sisters, Mildred Cupp of Indiana, Birdie Miller of East Bernstadt 
and Goldie Hicks of Hamilton, Ohio; two brothers, Cleo Hicks of Michigan and Thomas Butt of Crab Orchard; three grandchildren; 
and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at McKnight Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson. Burial in
Crab Orchard Cemetery Visitation will be 
after 6 p.m. Thursday.

Born Feb. 3, 1912, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Cas B. and Sarah Bastin McGuffey. She was a self-employed 
home care provider, a member of Harris Memorial United Methodist Church and the widow of Bennie Ed Ervin.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Young Kirby, Stanford; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in 
death by a son, Roy Lee Ervin.
Pallbearers will be Dominic Young, Michael Young, Charles Ervin, Chris Kirby and Eddie Carter.

STANFORD -  Maude Ella Griffin Flanery, 87, of Indianapolis, died Monday in Greenfield, Ind.
Born June 27, 1912, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late James T. and Lou Ella Durham Griffin. She was a homemaker 
and a member of Mount Moriah Christian Church. She was a charter member of Beech Grove, Ind., Fraternal Order of the Eagles 
4167 Ladies Auxiliary, and the widow of Roach O. Flanery.
Survivors include four sons, Delmar H. Flanery of Highland, James H. Flanery and Roach Flanery Jr., both of Beech Grove, and 
Clarence Flanery of Indianapolis; a daughter, Mary Lou Neal of Maxwell, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home. Burial will be in
Mount Moriah Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday.

Marjorie Marie Adams Galloway, 62, of Hill-N-Dale Drive, died today at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center of 
natural causes.
Born June 22, 1936, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late James and Effie Trent Adams. She was a nursing assistant at 
Garrard County Memorial Hospital and Friendship House/Fellowship Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Jamie Galloway of Danville; and a sister, Lisa Nicole Adams of Danville. A memorial service will be 
3 p.m. Sunday at Stith Funeral Home.

GIBSON, James Patrick                                                                       d. 25 April 1997
James Patrick Gibson, 82, 408 N. Fourth St., died Friday at his residence.
Born Oct. 23, 1914, in Bowen in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Walter Jason and Essie Frances Daugherty Gibson.
He was a retired switchman for Southern Railway and a self-employed radio and TV repairman. He was a member of Lexington 
Avenue Baptist Church and a former deacon, Sunday school teacher and treasurer at First Baptist Church, where he also worked 
with the Royal Ambassadors youth group.
He was a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge 28, past local chairman and 55-year member of the United Trainman's Union, and a
 member of the Retired Railroaders Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Case Gibson of Danville; three sons, James Lawrence Gibson of Lexington, Jason Carl Gibson of 
Salvisa, and Joseph Arthur Gibson of Danville; two daughters, Jean Gibson Sutton of Danville and Janet Gibson Eldridge of Bryantsville; 
two sisters, Myrtle Royalty and Frances Coulter, both of Danville; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Noel
and the Rev. Jo Garnett officiating. Burial 
will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home.

Born May 28, 1914, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late James Howard and Nancy Estes Alford Gooch. She was a 
housewife and active community leader. She was a member of McKinney Baptist Church and McKinney Homemakers Club. She 
was the widow of Fred James Gooch.
Survivors include a son, Leslie F. Gooch of McKinney; a daughter, Nancy Jean Lainhart of Lancaster; a sister, Mary Sims of 
Greenwood, Ind.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one step great-grandchild; and three step grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. James Bland. Burial will be in
McKinney Cemetery
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Gooding Greer; three sons, Larry, Jackie and Brad Greer, all of Oldham County; three daughters, 
Vicki James and Debbie Kincaid, both of Oldham County, and Cathy Alley of Trimble County; two sisters, Dorothy Coleman of 
Indianapolis, Ind., and Correne Gray of Danville; a brother, Carlis ``Little Twin'' Greer of Bardstown; 13 grandchildren; and 
four great-grandchildren.

MORELAND - Helen Nunnelley Hovious, 78, of Hustonville, died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.
Born March 13, 1921, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and El Vada Martin Nunnelley. She was the widow 
of Ralph Hovious. She was a retired, 47-year employee of the National Bank of Hustonville, a member of Hustonville Baptist Church, 
where she served as Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a stepson, Glenn Hovious of Madisonville; two grandchildren; three nieces; and two nephews. She was preceded in 
death by her first husband, Fayette Sanders.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Greg Nimmo. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

two sisters, Geneva Christmas of New Carlisle, Ohio, and Virginia Ollish of Waynesburg; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

of Formica and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Amelia Lodge #590 F&AM, Amelia Charter #338 
Order of Eastern Star, the Scottish Rite of Cincinnati and the Kentucky Colonels. He belonged to Amelia First Baptist Church. 
He was preceded in death by a son, David Edgar McIntosh.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn M. McIntosh; one son, Wayne McIntosh of Calhoun, Ga.; four daughters, Jeanne Brown of

Norfolk Southern Railway. He served as mayor of Crab Orchard from 1992-1998. He had been a city commissioner and was 
active with the Lincoln County Democratic party. He was a former board member of the Crab Orchard Little League Baseball 
Program. He previously attended Watts Chapel Baptist Church.

Born Nov. 28, 1902, in Ash County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late J.W. and Sarah Johnson Cornett. She was a homemaker 
and belonged to Mount Olive Church. She was the widow of Charlie Plummer and was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and 
Raymond Plummer.
Survivors include three sons, Phillip Plummer of Brandon, Fla., Donald Plummer of Goshen, Ohio, and Kenneth Plummer of Hamilton, 
Ohio; one daughter, Helen Thompson of Louisville; one half-brother, Bobby Cornett of Batesville, Ind.; one half-sister, Gladys Cornett 
of Batesville, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

CRAB ORCHARD - Charles H. ``Sharp'' Reed, 75, of Waynesburg, died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 1, 1923, in Highland, he was a son of the late Shelby and Cynthia Warfield Reed. He was a farmer and a member of 
Mount Moriah Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Susan K. McGuffey Reed; a daughter, Amy Reed Smith of Campbellsville; a son, Charles D. Reed of 
Ottenheim; two sisters; Christine Cardwell and Shirley Ward, both of Louisville; and two brothers, Walter Reed of Highland and 
Waldo Reed of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at
Mount Moriah Christian Church Cemetery by Rob Cox and Dennis Spencer. Visitation will 
be after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

MORELAND - William H. Reed, 62, of Moreland, died Wednesday at home of natural causes.
Born Oct. 12, 1935, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Perry and Flossie Hill Reed. He was a farmer.
Survivors include four sons, William ``Butch'' Reed, Christopher Reed and Steven Reed, all of Kings Mountain, and Tony Reed of 
Kissimmee, Fla., two daughters, Janie Reed of Casey County and Martha Reed of Hartford City, Ind.; three brothers, Marvin 
Reed of Hartford City, Michael Reed and Harold Reed, both of Marion, Ind.; three sisters, Nancy Scharbrough of Waynesburg, 
Shirley Temmons and Lillian Reed, both of Marion, Ind.; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Clayton Reed.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery

CRAB ORCHARD - Marshall Emmett Reynolds, 80, of Elm Street died Saturday at Fort Logan Hospital, Stanford, of heart failure.
Born May 13, 1917, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Avery and Linda Wren Reynolds. He was retired from the Bluegrass 
Army Depot of Richmond and served in the Air Force. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ, the Veterans of Foreign 
Wars Post 7101, the Caswell Saufley American Legion Post 18 and the Cleve Dunn Chapter of Disabled American Veterans. He 
was preceded in death by his first wife, Velma Irvin Reynolds.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Smith Reynolds; three sons, Vernon Reynolds of Eubank and Ralph and Dave Reynolds of Crab 
Orchard; one daughter, Linda Duncan of Somerset; two stepsons, William McClure of Dry Ridge and Leonard McClure of 
Brodhead; two stepdaughters, Doris Harris of Crab Orchard and Lillian Deboard of Stanford; one brother, Luther Reynolds of 
Tempe, Ariz.; two sisters, Bertha Nelson of Eubank and Laura Botwell of Somerset; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 
16 step grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Chapel by Gerald Carter. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery  
with military rites given by the Caswell Saufley post.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.

CRAB ORCHARD -- Services for Alta Messer Robinson, 84, of Crab Orchard will be private. Burial will be in Ephesus Church Cemetery.
She died Tuesday at her home. Born Aug. 4, 1916, in Knox County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Axie Warren Messer. She 
was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church and the widow of the Rev. Walter Robinson.
Survivors include a son, Sam Robinson of Crab Orchard; a daughter, Reah Allen of Lanesville, Ind.; six sisters, Maxine Stewart of Dayton, 
Ohio, Nollie Fields and Vada Varish, both of Wellsville, Ohio, Ellen Kent and Hester Sipes, both of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Chelsie Barnard of 
Marion, Ohio; two brothers, George Messer of Whearton, W.V., and Dexter Messer of Wellsville; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. 
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may go to Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

She died Wednesday at Christian Care Center.  
Born Dec. 7, 1918, in Crab Orchard, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ophelia Mullins Snodgrass. She was a member 
of First Baptist Church and the widow of Andrew Robinson.  
Survivors include five brothers, Walter H. Snodgrass of Lexington, Marshall Snodgrass of Nicholasville, Morris Snodgrass of 
Crab Orchard, James Snodgrass of Stanford and Claude Snodgrass of Danville; and four sisters, Bessie Helm of Crab Orchard, 
Serena Burnside of Danville, Clara Slaughter of Mount Sterling and Brenda Tarrance of Louisville

Born Nov. 8, 1927, in Crab Orchard, he was a son of the late James Garfield and Anna Mae Simpson. He was the widower of 
Edeltraud "Susie" Simpson. He was a self employed real estate agent. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagle 528, 
and was an Army veteran, having been stationed in Germany for six years.
Survivors include a daughter, Gwendolyn Anna Manns of Middletown; two sons, Davey Ronee Simpson of Eaton, Ohio, and 
Andre Simpson of Middletown; four brothers, Danny Simpson and Clyde Simpson, both of Crab Orchard, Melvin Simpson of 
West Elkton, Ohio, and Don Simpson of West Chester, Ohio; four sisters, Beatrice Barnett of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Lillian 
Durham, Lucille Pingleton and Wanda Owens, all of West Chester, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. Randall Adams. Burial will be in Brock Cemetery

was a farmer and construction worker and a member of Blue Lick Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Bugg Stringer; three sons, Jimmy Stringer Jr. of Eubank, Terry Wayne and Donald James Stringer, 
both of Kings Mountain; two stepsons, Tony Taylor and Carl Taylor Jr, both of Moreland; two stepdaughters, Rhonda Brent of 
Stanford and Lisa Wilson of Cusseta, Ga.; a stepmother, Florence Naylor Stringer of Stanford; a brother, Clinton Stringer of

employed at First & Farmers Bank, Science Hill, for over 25 years. She was the widow of William Stroud, and was predeceased by 
two sons, Harold E. and James A. Stroud.
Survivors include two grandsons, David Stroud of Crab Orchard and Donald Stroud of Waldorf, Md.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at
Science Hill Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.

was the widow of Homer Ware. Survivors include a sister, Beulah Ahr of Cincinnati; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 
and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, J.C. Ware. She was the grandmother of Larry and Gary Ware,

and a member of Kings Mountain Christian Church and was a Kentucky Colonel. She was the widow of Woodrow Wilson ``Woody'' Watts.
Survivors include three sons, Ray and David Watts of Stanford and Wade Watts of Kings Mountain; five daughters, Sally Miller, Deanie 
Snow and Joanne Greer, both of Kings Mountain, Gwen Hawk and Denise Jenkins, all of Stanford; a brother, Davis Fields of Louisville; 
a sister, Paulina Sloan of Lexington; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born March 26, 1920, in Bell County, she was the daughter of the late William Matt and Lurinda Robbins Thompson. She was a retired 
press operator at Palm Beach Co. for 37 1/2 years and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Imogene W. Harness of Stanford and Eula Lee Saylor Eaton of Danville; one brother, Richard Thompson 
of Pineville; four sisters, Anna Mae Wilder of Stanford, Elsie Gibbons of Bowling Green and Nellie Thompson and Lydia Edna Orr, both 
of Dayton; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two step-grandchildren.

Born Nov. 1, 1927, in Macon County, Tenn., he was a son of the late Carl and Roxy Barton White. He was a farmer and retired dairy 
farm specialist for Kraft Foods Company in Lawrenceburg where he worked for 33 years. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist 
Church, Lafayette, Tenn. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War,
and had served on the Lincoln County Fair 
Board for many years. He was a past president of the Stanford Rotary Club and past director and secretary of the Stanford/Lincoln 
County Chamber of Commerce. He has served on the Stanford City Water Commission and the Planning and Zoning Board and was 
a former director of the National Bank of Hustonville.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley White; three sons, Charles L. White of Lawrenceburg, David L. White of Lexington and John White 
of Stanford; a daughter, Melanie Taylor of Stanford; a brother, Robert White of Lafayette; a sister, Opal Johnson of Lafayette; and 
six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dana, Keith and Brian White, Christopher Johnson, Shane Lyle and David Cooper.
Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Russell, Morgan Pence, Minor Teague, Hugh Helm, Randy Leach, Jack D. Johnson, Fred Reichenbach,

She was a teacher of the deaf; a member of the Presbyterian church and the widow of J. Everett White.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret A. Oberlander of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, William A. White of Frederick, Md.; 
and three grandchildren.

Mary A. Wilkerson. He wa a member of Cedar Ridge Church in Stanford. 
 Survivors include six daughters, Vie Smith, Jo Ann Alcorn, Frances Alexander and Janie Lamb, all of Cincinnati, Shirley Jackson 
of Lexington and Louise Holt of Stanford; a brother, Otis Wilkerson of Danville; 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. 
 Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Stanford First Baptist Church by the Rev. William Ewing. Burial will be in
Barrow Cemetery

grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Barry Jeffries. Burial will be in
Bellevue Cemetery
