CRAB ORCHARD - Thomas Joe Adams, 64, of Crab Orchard, died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional 
Medical Center. Born June 13, 1940, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late John and Fannie Helton Adams. 
He was an Army veteran.

Survivors include a daughter, Connie Lewis of Berea; a son, Ricky Joe Adams of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Irene 
Lamb of Crab Orchard and Opal Lamb of Lancaster; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at McKnight Funeral Home by the Rev. Adam Dooley. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eddy and Bill Hawley, Donnie Lamb, Ernie lamb, Jonathan Lewis and Michael Farthing.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - William C. Beck, 73, formerly of Stanford and Danville, died Dec. 31 in Virginia Beach.

He was the son of the late Clifton and Dora Beck, who had lived in Stanford.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Beck and Sharon Boucher, both of Virginia; a son, Billy Beck of Virginia; and 
seven grandchildren. Private services were held in Virginia.

CRAB ORCHARD - Eric Floyd Blevins, 19, of Crab Orchard, died Thursday at his home.

Born June 3, 1985, in Danville, he was a son of Jeffrey E. Blevins of Crab Orchard and Kimberly Y. McFerron 
Sanders of Richmond. He was a 2004 graduate of Lincoln County High School and an employee of Kendrix 
Construction Co.

Other survivors include his stepfather, Jimmy Sanders of Richmond; a sister, Carla L. Blevins of Richmond; two 
half brothers, Justin E. and Austin Cole, both of Crab Orchard; grandparents, Carl Blevins of Whitley City, Linda 
Martin of Crab Orchard, Floyd McFerron of Mount Vernon and Brenda Carpenter of Waynesburg; and great-grandparents, 
James and Louise Harness of Junction City, Viola Carpenter of Waynesburg and Zelma McFerron of Mount Vernon.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at McKnight Funeral Home by Chris Blevins. Burial will be in Simpson Cemetery in 
Dog Walk.

Pallbearers will be Cody Harris, Jeremy Taylor, Kyle and Rusty Sumner and Rodney and Robbie Blevins.

CRAB ORCHARD - Denver A. Brummett, 78, of Main Street, died Thursday at Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Born Oct. 20, 1919, in Rockcastle County, he was a son of the late Nathan and Sally Bishop Brummett. He was a 
retired owner and operator of Brummett's Antiques. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having been held 
prisoner of war in Sicily and Africa. He was a member of West Brodhead Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Taylor Brummett; three sons, Earl D. Brummett of Stanford, Charles A. Brummett of 
Crab Orchard and Donnie J. Brummett of Richmond; three sisters, Myrtle Helton of Brodhead, Edna Middleton of Crab 
Orchard and Mary E. Coffey of Lockland, Ohio; four brothers, Dempsey and Bernard Brummett, both of Brodhead, 
and Francis and Dale Brummett, both of Crab Orchard; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at West Brodhead Church of God, Hwy. 3245, Brodhead, by the Revs. John Irvin and 
Norman Young. Burial, with military rites by Caswell Saufley American Legion Post 18 of Stanford, will be in Negro 
Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Middleton, John Wilson, Jackie and Donnie Helton, Jessie Coffey and Orville Brummett.
Honorary pallbearers are Danny Brummett, A.J. Bourne, Burgess Robbins, Clarence Jackson, Jr., Raymond Asher, 
Glenn Burke, George Burdine and Loyal Brown.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Saturday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home and after 1 p.m. Sunday at the church.

BUNCH, Marjorie Ann Lunsford                                                       d. 12 April 2001

CRAB ORCHARD – Marjorie Ann Lunsford Bunch, 72, of Lancaster Street died Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital in 
Lexington.

Born Nov. 13, 1928, in Indiana, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Jewell M. Price Lunsford.  Bunch served 
on the Crab Orchard City Commission before going on to serve two terms as mayor. “She was a wonderful person and a 
concerned mayor, “said Shirley Harris, former Crab Orchard city clerk. “She cared a great deal about this town during and 
after her years as mayor.”

She was the widow of Elmer Bunch Jr.

Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Underwood of Lancaster and Connie Kidwell of Crab Orchard; a son, Joe Bunch 
of Crab Orchard; a brother, Melvin Lunsford of Crab Orchard; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by Cecil Roundtree. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.  

 

          August 01, 1890

BURNSIDE, E. H.

August 1,--E. H. Burnside, Mayor of Stanford, and for many years proprietor of the Myers House in that city, 
died on Saturday at Cumberland Falls, of Bright's disease. He was born in Garrard County and was fifty-two 
years of age. He at one time owned the Rockcastle Springs and was well known to many citizens of London. 
His remains were taken to Lancaster and buried in the cemetery at that place on Sunday. The Mountain Echo, 
Laurel Co. KY.

 BURTON, Glen C.                                                           

Glen C. Burton, 61, of Hardin Co., formerly of Stanford, died Sunday April 27 at the Hardin County Memorial Hospital.

A native of Pulaski County, he was born May 6, 1941 to Rosa Baker Burton and the late Delbert Burton. He was 
a farmer, Vietnam Army veteran, former Mason, and member of Pleasant Point Baptist Church where he was a deacon.

He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Taylor Burton. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Renee Tackett 
Burton of Sanford, NC.; one daughter, Kathy Burton (Colvin)  Chadwell of Corbin; one step daughter, Kristi Green of 
East View; three brothers, John Ben Burton and Herner Burton both of Stanford, and Bobby Joe (Ailene) Burton of London; 
two grandchildren ( names omitted for privacy) ; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 30 at the Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford with Rev. James Kelly officiating. 
Burial was in Double Springs Cemetery, Waynesburg.

Active pallbearers were Rodman Burton, Charles Taylor, Darrin Padgett, Greg Padgett, Norman Calffee, and Paul Calffee.  
Military rites were conducted by Caswell Saufley Post # 18 of the American Legion.

Services for Lucinda Byrd, 43, of Old Schoolhouse Road, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. 
Wendell Douglas. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery.

She died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital.

Born Feb. 22, 1961, in Trenton, Mich., she was a daughter of the late Clarence G. and Anna Grace Nunnally Stuck. She 
was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Byrd; three daughters, Valarie Orcutt of Stanford, Anna Devine of Gravel Switch and 
Sylvia Morgan of Liberty; two sons, Brandon and Willie Joe Byrd, both of Danville; two brothers, Robert Nunnally of 
Wyandotte, Mich., and Carl Stuck of Riverview, Mich.; two sisters, Diana McElroy of Danville and Patricia Snyder of 
Syracuse, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tom and Brian Byrd, Johnny Worthington, Lee Naylor, Bobby Devine and Jay Orcutt. Honorary 
pallbearers are Gayle and Carrie Byrd, Tammy Worthington and Dennis Morgan.

Services for Edith Wilmot Carney, 83, of Brookside Drive, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. John 
McNerny. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
She died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born July 29, 1915, in Stanford, she was a daughter of the late James J. Wilmot and Katie F. Gooch. She was a homemaker, 
a member of Parksville Christian Church and the widow of Collins Carney.
Survivors include a brother, James R. Wilmot of Lexington; two sisters, Vivian W. Price of Stanford and Annola Wilmot of 
Danville.
Pallbearers will be David Cocanougher, John, Ralph and Lee Wilmot, Tom Sudduth,
Leroy Boone Jr. and James Gooch.
Honorary pallbearers are Sidney Hill, James Thompson, William Irvine, and the men of Parksville Christian Church.

CRAB ORCHARD - Garriest Doody Carter, 72, of Somerset, died Sunday at Lake Cumberland Hospital.

Born Nov. 11, 1932, in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late William M. and Della E. Griffin Carter. He was a retired 
bus driver for Perry County schools, a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and an Army veteran. He was the widower 
of Regina Carter.

Survivors include three sons, Joseph W. Carter, Gary L. Carter and Gilbert D. Carter, all of Somerset; a brother, Harold L. 
Carter of Waynesburg; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKnight Funeral Home. Burial will be in Singletontown Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry, Greg and Kevin Pettit, Kenneth Benien, Harold and Presley Spradlin. Honorary pallbearers are 
Joey Wren and William Lewis.

WAYNESBURG - Hiram W. Caudill, 83, Waynesburg, died Thursday at Fort Logan
Hospital, Stanford.
Born Jan. 4, 1914, in Letcher County, he was a son of the late Silas and Nancy Caudill. He was a retired carpenter and a 
member of Mt. Olivet Old Fashion Baptist Church, Letcher County.
Survivors include his wife, Maude Back Caudill; a son, Clyde Caudill of Columbus, Ind.; a daughter, Charlene Dixon of 
Lexington; a brother, Raymond Caudill of Waynesburg; three sisters, Myrtle Branson and Carmia Adams, both of Waynesburg, 
and Cuma Phillips of Elwood, Ind.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home by Squire Watts. Burial will be in 
Double Springs Cemetery.

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. - Georgia Rankin Cole, 78, of Jeffersonville, died Wednesday at the Riverbend Assisted Living.

Born May 27, 1926, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late John Wesley and Katherine Holtzclaw Rankin.

She was an instructional material coordinator and librarian at Vigo County School Corp.

She was a genealogist and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and a past member of the Filson Club in 
Louisville.

Survivors include her husband, Herman Cole Jr.; a daughter, Holly R. Cole of Jeffersonville; and two brothers, Russell 
Rankin of Crestview Hill, Ky., and John Lee Rankin of Lancaster. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Coots Funeral 
Home. Burial will be in Barnes Cemetery in Nabb, Ind.

STANFORD - Graveside services for Nancy Sandidge Faulkner Cooper, 82, of Stanford, will be 11:30 p.m. Friday at 
Bellevue Cemetery in Danville by the Rev. Bernie Meece.

She died Tuesday at her home.

Born July 11, 1922, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Yida May Sandidge. She was a homemaker, 
a member of Stanford Christian Church and former member of Stanford Garden Club and Stanford Woman's Club.

Survivors include her husband, Dick Cooper; a son, Dick Faulkner of Stanford; three stepsons, Dickie Cooper of Stanford, 
Bill Cooper of Orlando, Fla., and Charles Sam Gilliland of Danville; a stepdaughter, Margaret Turner of Stanford; nine 
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Faulkner.

Pallbearers will be David Faulkner, Charles Sam Gilliland, Keith Cooper, David Pettus, Jeff Hill and Tommy Bryant. 
Visitation will be 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Spurlin Funeral Home.

Born Nov. 28, 1929, in Louisville, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Robinson and Bonnie Black Robinson Nester. 
She was a retired employee of American Greeting Corporation.
Survivors include four daughters, Felicia Craiger of Stanford, Cindy Craiger of Lexington, Sherry Cooper of Virginia Beach, 
Va., and Debbie Kuykendall of Ocala, Fla.; six grandchildren; and a stepfather, Charles Nester of Shelby-ville.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Revs. Rob Cox and Doug Wesley. Burial will be in 
Danville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday.

MORELAND - Haskel C. Crowe, 54, of Hustonville, died today at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born March 28, 1943, in Casey County, he was a son of Charlie Crow of Hustonville and the late Sarah Turpin Crow. 
He was a disabled farmer and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Casey County.
Survivors include his wife, Lora Russell Crowe; three sons, Randall Crowe of Hustonville, Franklin E. Crowe of Hustonville 
and William G. Crowe of Yosemite; two daughters, Peggy Crowe of Somerset and Debra Murphy of Liberty; four brothers, 
Gene Crowe of Liberty, J.T. Crowe of Stanford and Glen and Donnie Crowe, both of Hustonville; two sisters, Beatrice 
Benedict and Nancy Griffin, both of Hustonville; and six grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Delas Earles. Burial will be in
Maxey's Valley 
Cemetery, Casey County.

Born Dec. 24, 1910, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Effie Godbey. She was a homemaker and 
a member of Mt. Olive Christian Church. She was the widow of Preston Durham.
Survivors include two daughters, Louise Ransdell of Harrodsburg and Mary Bradford of Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters, Nell 
Rose of Crestwood and Wilma Coleman of Stanford; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Greg Powell. Burial will be in
Salyers Cemetery.

MORELAND - Ethel Evelyn Ellis, 87, of Hustonville, died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 23, 1910, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late A.M. and Artelia Smith Simpson. She was a retired 
licensed practical nurse of Kentucky State Hospital where she was employed for 35 years, and a member of Valley Grove 
Baptist Church. She was the widow of Willie Lee Ellis.
Survivors include three daughters, Louise Wright of Charlestown, Ind.; Shearleen Green of Danville and Linda Austin of 
Liberty; four sons, Kenneth Ellis of Hustonville, Eugene Ellis, Leon Ellis and Horace Ellis, all of Danville; 15 grandchildren; 
and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jerome and Jasper Ellis.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary Story. Burial will
be in Hustonville 
Cemetery.

VIERA, Fla. - Bobby Earl Estes, 66, of Deland, Fla., died Saturday in Florida.

Born Nov. 26, 1939, in Kings Mountain, Ky., he had lived in Florida for 30 years. He was retired from the Brevard 
County school system where he was a teacher and administrator. He was a member of multiple Corvette clubs across 
Florida. He served in the Army from 1958-1961 in Munich, Germany, as a military police officer. He attended 
Campbellsville University and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Kentucky University. He received 
a master’s degree from Spalding College in Louisville. He was a member of First Christian Church, Kings Mountain.

Survivors his wife, Shelvie Harlow Estes; two sons, Sean Estes of Gainesville, Fla., and Jeremy Estes of Edgewater, Fla.; 
a daughter, Traci Estes Browning of Marietta, Ga.; a sister, Ailene Foley of Lexington; and a brother, Clifford "Gene" 
Estes of Titusville, Fla.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Kings Mountain Christian Church. Burial will be in Gooch Cemetery in Lincoln 
County. Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ada ``Mawmaw'' Flowers, 89, of Danville, died Monday at home.
Born Jan. 3, 1908, in Spadeville, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Jimmy and Easter Duncan Reed. She owned and 
operated for 42 years the Bluegrass Restaurant in Stanford. She was a member of Faith Temple Pentecostal Church and 
was the widow of John Flowers.
Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Green of Danville and Loretta Harris of Middlesboro; two sisters, Fannie Presley 
of Spadeville and Ida Kelly of Middlesboro; 11 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Linnie Daugherty. Burial will be in Bellevue 
Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Troy Hargis, Tim Shelton, B.J. Naylor, Jay Shelton, Gene Humfleet and John Green.

STANFORD - Services for Edward "Mack" Godbey, 77, of Stanford, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Spurlin Funeral Home 
by the Rev. Johnny Adamson. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

He died Tuesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

Born Aug. 30, 1927, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Elbert and Dolly Atkins Godbey. He was a carpenter 
and an employee of Lincoln Lumber Co. and Fort Logan Hospital. He was a founding member of Calvary Hill Baptist 
Church.

Survivors include his wife, Evellene Godbey; three sons, David Godbey of New York, Tony Godbey of Stanford and 
Jackie Godbey of Danville; a stepson, Benny Price of Somerset; three daughters, Diane Godbey of New York, Tammy 
Godbey of Crab Orchard, and Lisa Hood of Lancaster; two brothers, Russell Godbey of Crab Orchard and Hoover 
Godbey of Stanford; three sisters, Silverene Adams of Crab Orchard, Flonnie Phillips of Lancaster and Marcella Floyd 
of South Carolina; two grandchildren whom he raised, Nicholas Godbey and Amanda Stutz; 10 grandchildren; and three 
step grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Larry T. Godbey, and a daughter, Donna Godbey Stutz.

Pallbearers will be Harold, Russell, Jeff, Richard, Matthew Godbey and Chester Adams. Honorary pallbearers are members 
of Calvary Hill Adult Sunday School Class. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Thursday at Spurlin Funeral Home.

STANFORD - Roy Franklin Gifford, 58, of Stanford, died Sunday at his home.

Born Nov. 20, 1946, in McKinney, he was a son of the late Carl and Audrey Patterson Gifford. He was an electrician.

Survivors include two sons, Scott and Troy Gifford, both of Stanford; two brothers, Bobby Gifford of McKinney and 
Donnie Gifford of Casey County; a sister, Connie Sue Buis of Yosemite; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Green River Pentecostal Church by Rick Naylor. Burial will be in 
Buffalo Springs Cemetery
.

Born Oct. 1, 1941, in Lincoln County, he was a son of Laura Stewart of Stanford and the late Preston "Billy" Givens.

He was an employee of Hitachi Automotive Product Co.

of Las Cruces, N.M., and Cheryl Stewart of Lexington; three brothers, David Givens of Indianapolis, Mitchell Stewart 
of Burke, Va., and Barry Stewart of Lexington; a stepbrother, Fred Helm of Virginia Beach, Va.; and five grandchildren.

He died Saturday at his home. 
Born April 25, 1920 in Pulaski County, he was a son of the late Clyde F. and Versie M. Reynolds Gooch. He was a cattleman, 
a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the widower of Lillian Cummins Gooch.
Survivors include two sons, Lonnie Gooch of Eubank and Larry Gooch of Crab Orchard; three daughters, Gina Eubank and 
Tammy Todd, both of Eubank, and Rhonda Brown of Crab Orchard; two brothers, Hobert Gooch of Columbus, Ohio, and 
Oris Gooch of Woodstock; two sisters, Verla Hamilton of Louisville and Nola McClure of Willailla; seven grandchildren; 
and two great-grandchildren.

Born Aug. 21, 1904, in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late Fountain and Cordelia Boyd Goodin.
He was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Frances.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Bray Goodin.
Additional survivors include six sons, Paul and Lonnie Goodin, both of Danville, Wade Goodin of Taylorsville, Ind., Robert 
Goodin of Hayes, Kansas, and James and Johnnie Goodin, both of Stanford; two daughters, Elva Fitzpatrick of Indianapolis,

Born June 15, 1915, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Martha Atkins Bray. She was a 
homemaker, charter member of Worldstown Church of God, and the widow of William Green Goodin.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Francis.
Survivors include six sons, Paul and Lonnie Goodin, both of Danville, Wade Goodin of Taylorsville, Ind., Robert Goodin 
of Hays, Kansas, and James and Johnnie Goodin, both of Stanford; two daughters, Elva Fitzpatrick of Indianapolis, Ind.,

Guzman and Sotelo died Thursday as the result of an auto accident on Ky. 34. Both men were employees of Kenneth 
Stamper Farms in Lincoln County.
Rodrigo Sorio Guzman, 28, of Stanford, was born March 13, 1971, in Vera Cruz, Mexico. He was a son of Benigno C. 
Guzman Escando and Melecia Osorio Vargas, both of Vera Cruz.
Other survivors include five sisters, Florinda Guzman Osorio, Anamaria Guzman Osorio, Petria Guzman Osorio, Dulce 
Guzman Osorio and MaTeresa Guzman Osorio; and two brothers, Aniceto Guzman Osorio and Sirano Gozman Osorio. 

Genavio SOTELO, 34, of Stanford, was born Feb. 10, 1966, in Vera Cruz, Mexico. He was a son of Crecencio Sotelo 
and Josesina Joachin, both of Vera Cruz. He also was a farm laborer in Lincoln County.
Other survivors include his wife, Isabell Sotelo of Stanford, and three sons, Juan Carlos Sotelo, Miguel Angel Sotelo and 
David Sotelo; a grandmother, Estefana Galmiche of Vera Cruz; three brothers, Juan Sotelo and Selso Sotelo, both of Vera 
Cruz, Jose L. Sotelo of Florida; and four sisters, Josefina Sotelo, Dora Sotelo, Minerva Sotelo and Martina Sotelo, all of 
Vera Cruz.

and a member of Willow Grove Baptist Church in Danville where he had been a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Stanford and Richard H. Hensley of Whitley City; two daughters, Lisa Fox and Elizabeth Bowen, both of Stanford; a 
brother, Minor Hensley of Lexington; two sisters, Mary Aldridge of Nicholasville and Daisey Adams of Shelbyville; 
nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was a carpenter, an Army veteran of Vietnam and a member of the Baptist church.

Corning Glass and a member of New Salem Baptist Church. He was the first fire chief of McKinney Volunteer Fire 
Department.

Survivors include his wife, Alta Belle King of Hustonville; two sons, Lowell King of Moreland and James King of New 
Salem; a daughter, Linda Carpenter of London; a brother, Lonnie King of Stanwood, Wash.; two sisters, Blanche Chadwell 
of New Salem and Mable Thompson of Danville; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 17 at Smith Memory Chapel by the Revs.Larry Wynn, Ray Gentry and Mac Palmer. Burial was in

LIBERTY - Rev. Foster Thomas Lynn, 58, Segal Wesley Avenue, died Saturday at home.
Born Jan. 6, 1939, in Hustonville, he was a son of the Rev. Hobart Lynn and Edith Lynn Jeffries. He was an employee of 
Aces Science Tech. He was an ordained Baptist minister and a retired teacher, having taught for 27 years in Hustonville 
High School and the Danville school system. He was formerly a member of the Army National Guard and president of 
the Casey County Ministerial Association and served on the board of directors.
He received his Master of Arts degree from Eastern Kentucky University and his bachelor of arts in mathematics from 
Centre College. He was a former pastor at Clearview Community Church, New Hope Church in Moreland, and Southern 
Avenue Baptist Church, Danville.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Allen Lynn; four sons, Kevin Lynn and Shane Lynn, both of Stanford, Jody Adams, 
Danville and Patrick Baker, Liberty; three daughters, Reda Randolph and Susan Wilson, both of Liberty and Lisa Hoover, 
Jamestown; a sister, Emma Whigham, Miami, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Poplar Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery.

Buffalo Lick Baptist Church, and a former member of Shelbyville Business and Professional Women's Club.

Survivors include her husband, Dallas C. Maxey; a son, Mark Maxey of Waddy; a daughter, Dawn Caldwell of 
Lawrenceburg; three brothers, Lewis Fletcher of Richmond, Va., Hershel Fletcher of Junction City, and Dallas Fletcher 
of Stanford; three sisters, Frankie Barlow, Sue Martin and Nancy Henson, all of Stanford; four grandchildren; and two 
great-grandchildren.

Edmond Miller. He was a carpenter having worked for Wilcher Construction, and a member of Hustonville Christian Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Travis and Julian Pike, both of Parksville; a sister, Almeda Devine of

and former owner/operator of Russell Grocery. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Hustonville Baptist

He was a truck driver and a member of Fairview Baptist Church, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include a companion, Bernadine Altemeyer of Stanford; a brother, Frank Saylor of Providence, R.I.; two 
sisters, June Maupin of Hamilton, Ohio, and Mary Sizemore of Stanford.

She was the widow of Saufley Floyd and Steve Silver.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley June Young of Danville; two brothers, Norman Young of Stanford and Ralph Young 
of Highland; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today 
and after 9 a.m. Saturday.

of Claude Wilson Sinkhorn.

Born July 29, 1925, in Moreland, he was the son of the late Charlie and Bessie Taylor Southerland. He was the 
widower of Flonnie "Teenie" Cutter Southerland and a World War II Army veteran.

He was a chef, a farmer, and worked for Horn Lumber Co. He attended New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Margaret Maddox and Eva Jenkins, both of Moreland. Pallbearers will be Ralph 
Jenkins, John Carrier, David and Cecil Maddox, Russell Shaffer and Barry Cutter.

Born May 21, 1907, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Whitt and Louanna Walls. She was a homemaker 
and a member of Green River Pentecostal Church. She was the widow of Arid Williams.
Survivors include two daughters, Bertha VanHook of Hustonville and Morene Willis of Amelia, Ohio; two brothers, Jim 
Walls of McKinney and George Walls of Geneva; a sister, Amanda Gaddis of Geneva; 22 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 
and 53 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Junior and Clell Williams; and two daughters, Helen Williams and Luna Walls.

Born Aug. 22, 1925, in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late Ward and Florence Mitchell Edwards. She was 
a sales clerk at the Louisville Store in Danville and a member of Parksville Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Beverly Young; a son, Brian Steele Harmon of Danville; two stepsons, Dwight J. Young 
of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Daniel A. Young of Bethlehem, Pa.; a daughter, Vickie A. Senior of Danville; two sisters, 
Opal E. Best of Danville and Joyce Edwards of Parksville; and seven grandchildren.
