Miss Dora Head Dies After Brief Illness

Miss Dora Belle Head, 77 years of age, died Sunday at 2:30 a.m. after a two week illness of colitis at her home in Russell Court, LaGrange.  Miss Head was born in Oldham County about two and one-half miles from La -Grange and had remained in this community all her life. She was the daughter of Lawrence Woodford Head and Susan Emily Head.  She joined the Christian Church under the ministry of the Rev. Robert Matthews.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. C. C. McRoberts and brother, C. C. Head & several nieces and nephews.
She was intensely interested in the new church being built by her group of friends and it was eminently fitting that her funeral was the first service to be held in the church.  At 2 p.m. Monday services were held by the Rev. J. N. Kelly, assisted by the Rev. J. B. Yager. There were many beautiful flowers. Her favorite hymns were sung by Mesdames H. M. Brooks, W. T. Guthrie, J. N. Kelly, Messrs. E. M. Bland, R. H. Snyder, with Miss Christine Goldsborough at the piano. The pall bearers were John McRoberts, William Netherton, Bert McMakin, W. W. Head, Richard Woodsmall, J. C. Haffler.  Friends coming from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hansbrough, Misses Maude and Peal Hansbrough, and Emma Julian.
