STIGERS, IRENE THOMAS, 96, of
Crestwood, died Tuesday, July 31, 2006 at the Christian Care
Communities Home in Louisville. She was born July 28, 1910
in Anderson County, KY.
She was the widow of William E. Stigers, and
the daughter of the late Lister and Annie R. Thomas. She
graduated from Kavanaugh High School of Anderson County, and
Eastern Kentucky State Teachers College. She was a member of
Crestwood Christian Church, Brownsboro Homemakers, and Chatter Box
Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and
one brother. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Winston
Stigers (Ann) of Lexington; sister-in-law, Mae Stigers of
Louisville; and several nieces and nephews and a host of other
relatives. Also surviving are faithful friends, Robert and
Vi McMakin of Crestwood, and her many friends at the Christian
Care Communities Home in Louisville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at
Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood. Visitation will be from noon -1
p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions are suggested to the
Christian Care communities, 920 S. 4th Street, Louisville, KY
40203, and Hospice.
