Humphrey, Merritt
THIS IS AN ABSTRACT OF THE APPLICATION FOR PENSION - - - MERRITT HUMPHREY - VIRGINIA 
The above named soldier was living in the county of Oldham, state of Kentucky, when he applied for pension on the date of Feb 21, 1834, aged 74 years.
He stated that he was born in the county of Louisa, state of Virginia, in 1759.
He enlisted in the county of Louisa, state of Virginia, in April 1779.
 In 1780 he removed from Louisa County to the county of Flavanna, state of Virginia.  He lived in Fluvanna County until 1785, and then moved to Woodford County, Kentucky, where he lived 9 years and then went to Shelby County and stayed there 5 years, then lived in Jefferson County, Kentucky, for 6 years, and finally moved to Oldham.  He died Dec. 8, 1840.
His widow, Mary Humphrey, whose maiden name was Mary Crim, applied for pension in the county of Oldham, state of Kentucky, date of October 1, 1853, aged 74 years.  They were married in the state of Kentucky, county of Jefferson, date of October 1, 1802, by William Kellar.
A Lewis Humphrey and a James B. Humphrey made affidavit as to the identity of Mrs. Humphrey, in Henry County, Kentucky, in 1855, where she was apparently living at the time.  No relationship stated.
