Dulcina & James E. Duvall to F. H. Duvall
This deed made this 24th day of May 1881 between Dulcina
Duvall and James E. Duvall her husband of the County of Owen and state of Kentucky of the first part and F. H. Duvall of the same county and state of the second part Witnesseth that for & in consideration of twenty dollars in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the parties of the first part have sold and do hereby convey to the party of the second part a tract of land in Owen County Ky: near the town of Monterey and bounded as follows:
Beginning at a stone on the Owenton & Monterey Turnpike
corner to J. E. Duvall thence S 87 1/2 E 20 poles to a stone thence N 2 1/2 W 12 poles to a stone corner to J. E. Duvall thence N 87 1/2 W 21 poles to the ^^^^ thence with the same S 2 1/2 E 12 poles to the beginning containing one acre and two roods--1 A 2R--To have and to hold with its appurtenances to the party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever with general warranty of title. The said Dulcina Duvall and J. E. Duvall agree to give F. H. Duvall the privilege of using water from the spring near F. H. Duvall's house where he now resides as long as he wishes. County of Owen ) Sct I J. B. Martin Clerk of the County Court for the county aforesaid certify that the foregoing deed of conveyance from Dulciene Duvall & J. E. Duvall her husband to F. H. Duvall was on the 28th day of May 1881 produced to J. M. Herndon my lawful deputy on said county and acknowledged before him by Dulciene Duvall and J. E. Duvall to be their act and deed as appears by his endorsement thereon in the words and figures following to wit: "Acknowledged by Dulciene Duvall and J. E. Duvall to be their act and deed according to law this May 28th 1881 J. B. Martin Ck By J. M. Herndon DC and the same was this day lodged to be and is with this certificate duly recorded in my office. This indenture made this 15th day of March in the year of
our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty nine between
William R. Latta & Rebecca S. Latta his wife of the county
of Jefferson and state of Indiana of the first part and James E.
Duvall of the County of Franklin & state of Kentucky of the
second part witnesseth That the said parties of the first part
for and in consideration of the sum of thirty two dollars
lawful money of the United States to them in hand well and
truly paid by the said party of the second part the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold
conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant
bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said party of the
second part his heirs and assigns forever a quit claim to all and
singular the following described tract or parcel of ground
situate in Franklin county and state of Kentucky to wit - being
the five hundred acres on the Indian Fork of Cedar Creek.
Beginning at a poplar, beach, and sugar tree south forty five
(45) west two hundred eighty three poles to three white ash
and two sugar trees south forty five (45) east two hundred
eight three poles to two beach and a sugar three north forty
five (45) east cross McDowls(?) tract at one hundred and six
poles in all two hundred and eighty three poles to a stake in
the old patent line thence north forty five (45) west two
hundred eighty three poles to the Beginning estimated to
contain Two hundred acres be the same more or less that is
to say the parties of the first part only intend to convey unto
the party of the second part the right title interest and claim
as heirs of law of Eijah Hopper and Deborah Hopper his wife
in and to the premises aforesaid and all the estate right title
interest claim and demand of them the said parties of the
first part of and to the said premises and every part thereof
together with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances
to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining and the
rents issues and profits thereof To have and to hold the premises
hereby bargained and sold or meant or intended so to be with
the appurtenances to the only proper use and beoof of the said
party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And
the said parties of the first part for themselves their heirs
executors and administrators do covenant promise and agree
to and with the said party of the second part his heirs
executors administrators and assigns that they are the true
and lawful owners of the premises hereby granted and have
good right full power and lawful authority to sell and convey
the same in manner and form aforesaid and that said premises
are free from all incumbrances and further that they the said
parties of the first part their heirs executors and administrators
will warrant and forever defend the aforesaid premises with
their appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof unto
the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against
all claim by from or under either of them or any of them not
from or under any other person whomsoever and the said
Rebecca S. Latta the wife of the said William R. Latta doth
hereby release all claim of dower in and to the premises
aforesaid. In witness whereof the said parties of the first
part have hereunto set there hands and seals the day and
year first above written.

Jefferson County SS Before us the undersigned
two Justices of the Peace written and said county this day
personally appeared William R. Latta and Rebecca S. Latta
the above grantors who are personally known to be such and
severally acknowledged the signing sealing and delivery of
the above Indenture to be there voluntary act and deed for the
uses and purposes therein mentioned and we having made
known to the said Rebecca S. Latta the wife of the said William
R. Latta the full contents and purport of said above deed she
acknowledged to us in a private examination separate and
apart from and without the hearing of her said husband that
she executed above said deed of her own free will and accord
and without any coercion or compulsion from her said husband
--In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and
seals of office this fifteenth day of March one thousand eight
hundred and forty nine.

I Rankin R. Revill clerk of the county court for said
county do certify that this deed from William R. Latta and
wife to James E. Duvall was this day produced to me for
record. And the same together with this and the three
certificates thereto attached I have truly recorded.

This Indenture made and entered into this 20th day of August
1850 between George C. Branham proprietor of the town of
Monterey in Owen county KY. and James E. Duvall
witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of seventy
seven dollars and 66 cents to him in hand paid the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged the George C. Branham
hath granted bargained sold alined and conveyed and by
these presents doth grant bargain sell aline and convey unto
the said James E. Duvall his heirs and assigns forever all that
tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Owen
on the waters of Cedar Creekk and wihtin the boundary of
the town of Monterey Ku ^ ^ on the platt of said town as
lots number 29, 30, and 31 with the appurtenances to have
and to hold unto the said James E. Duvall his heirs and
assigns forever and the said George C. Branham for himself
his heirs executors and adminstrators the premises hereby
conveyed unto the said James E. Duvall doth and will forever
warrant and defend against all manner of claims whatsoever.
In testimony whereof the said George C. Branham hath
hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above
mentioned.

Know all men by these presents that we - Uriah Maddox for
himself and also as guardian for He^ ^ L. & Catharine F.
Maddox infant heirs of Sherwood Maddox deceased
America Maddox, Wilson Maddox, by Uriah his agent and
attorney in fact Irvine Maddox, Mary E. Harrison formerly
Mary E. Maddox & Samuel Harrison in right of his wife
Mary E. have this day made nominated constituted and
appointed and by these presents do make nominate
constitute & appoint Jacob Maddox our true and lawful
attorney in fact for us & in our names place & stead & for
our use & benefit to ask demand sue for, receive of & from
the estate of David Maddox deceased late of the county of
Owen & state of Kentucky or from his executor or
administrator or any other person or persons in whose hands
the same may be the amounts due us & each of us as the
heirs & representatives of Sherwood Maddox decd & as such
one of the heirs of said David and also to demand sue for and
receive any other debt or debts which may be due us or
either of us from any other person or persons in said county
or in any other in said state of Kentucky & to do all other
lawful acts and things whatsoever in the premises as fully and
completely as we might or could do were we personally
present & acting, hereby ratifying, confirming and approving
