A Slave Narative by John Forsee A former slave living in Owen County, John Forsee, has dictated a narrative, which gives a glimpse of life  in Owen County during his life.

Born in Slavery  Slave Narratives from the Federal Writers' Project, 1936-1938 from the Library of Congress

In 1837, the following slaves were sold as part of the settlement of
Tillman Kemper's estate
