The Enterprise was entered May 11, 1889, at
the Post Office at Falmouth, Ky., as second
short week since I had not thought
That I could ever be by aught
So sore afflicted,
I pass the house within whose walls
She is, and may not stop; my calls
how fitful is our bliss;
I may not go to her, and this
By her own order;
Here is the note she wrote in it -
To me!-to e, who long have been
Her heart's sole warder.
grand stone steps I mount no more;
I may not enter, as before,
And clasp her to me;
Save for a dim light in her room,
The house is silent, whrapped in gloom;
I am too gloomy.
that she loves me less, although
I'm exiled to my studio
And long-shunned easels;
But her small brother (poor dear lad!)
Has got what I have neer had,
Hang it - the measels!
