Karen Fields, 49, Florence

Karen Fields, 49 of Florence, Ky., passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2004 at her home. Karen was born in Maysville, Ky., on June 26, 1955 the daughter of the late Carl Hitch and the late Louise McQuinley. She was an employee at the Discovery Channel.
Survivors include: daughter, Brandi Fields, Florence, Ky., brother, Ronnie Hitch, Leno-xburg, Ky., sisters, Carol Fau-lkner, Florence, Ky., Kay King, Berry, Ky.
Memorial services were held on Monday, October 18, 2004 at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.

Betty Fields, 70, Foster

Betty Ruth Fields, 70, of Foster, Ky., passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at Rosedale Manor Covington, Ky. She was born on March 19, 1934 in Pendleton County, Ky. , the daughter of the late Russell Fields and Carrie Belle (Purdy) Fields Clos. She worked for Con-tainer Corp. of America as a Customer Service Represen-ative, a member of Concord Methodist Church in Pendleton County, Ky. She was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Hutchison.
Survivors include: daughter, Flora Fields, Foster, Ky., brothers, Russell Fields, Erlanger, Ky., Don Clos, Butler, Ky., Bill and Terry Clos, both of Foster, Ky., David Clos. Brooksville, Ky., sisters, Catherine Joyce Carpenter, Flemingsburg, Ky., Jean Myers, Falmouth, Ky., Dorothy Bauer, Brooksville, Ky.
Services took place on October 13, 2004 at Cemetery Chapel Christian Church under the direction of Moore & Parker Funeral Home, Brooksville, Ky.
Interment took place in the Lenoxburg Cemetery, Foster, Ky.

Marcella Kelly, 90, Ft. Thomas

Marcella Wilson Kelly, 90, of Fort Thomas, Ky., passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at Highlands of Fort Thomas. She was owner and operator of the Marcella’s Beauty Shop. Her husband, Charles Francis Kelly, preceded her in death.
Survivors include: daughter, Patricia Kattenhorn, Ft. Thomas, Ky., brother, Sonny Wilson, Dry Ridge, sisters, Ruby Bentle, Bellefonte, Pa., Wanda Harper, Bonnie Kava-naugh, and Ardonna Brown all of Falmouth, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian burial was held on October 14, 2004 at St. Thomas Church, Ft. Thomas, Ky., under the direction of Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas, Ky.
Interment took place in the St. Stephen Cemetery Mausoleum, Ft. Thomas.

David Adams, 49, Williamstown

David E. Adams, 49, of Williamstown, Ky., passed away on Monday, October 11, 2004, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital, South. David was born in Hollywood, Fla. on September 30, 1955, the son of the late Dawson Dean Adams and Imogene Austin Cox. He was preceded in death by his father, Dawson Adams, grandparents, Elmo and Mildred Adams, step-father, Thomas Cox and step-brother, Gary Fennell.
Survivors include his mother, Imogene Cox, Palm Harbor, Florida, step-mother, Peggy Greene, Williamstown, Ky., brothers, Darriel Ray Adams, Bushnell, Fla., Ronald Adams, Williamstown, Ky., sisters, Su-zanne and Catherine Tipton, both of Fruitland, Fla., Melissa Bruin, Falmouth, Ky., step bro-thers, Henry Fennell, Margate, Fla., Larry Fennell, Jackson-ville, Fla., eighteen nieces and nephews, nine great nieces and nephews.
Services were held on October 14, 2004 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.
Interment took place in the Landrum Cemetery, Grant County, Ky.

 

David Ridner Jr., 45, Florida

George David Ridner Jr., 45 of Edgewater, Florida, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2004 at his home. He was the son of George and Nancy Ridner of Palm Bay, Florida.
Survivors include his wife Vonna Parsons Ridner, daughters, Sara Ridner and Tammy (Ben) Raymond, Edgewater, Florida, grandson, Gabriel Raymond, New Symrna Beach, Florida, mother-in-law, Brenda Parsons, New Symrna Beach, Florida, sister, Melissa (Todd) Mitchell, Palm Bay, Florida, aunt, Patsy Bridewell, Foster, Ky.
Services will be held at 2:30 on Friday, October 22, 2004 under the direction of Moore & Parker Funeral Home, Brooksville, Ky.
Interment took place in the Johnsville Cemetery, Foster, Ky.

John Barlow Light, 68, Ashland

John Barlow Light, 68, of Ashland passed away on Saturday, Ocotber 16, 2004 following an extended illness. Born on September 29, 1936 in Falmouth, Ky., the son of the late Carl Stewart and Melissan-na (Barlow) Light. He was preceded in death by one sister Zerina Shopbell. He was an Ashland resident for the past 48 years, where he was employed at Philway Products and the Bosch Company where he retired in 1999. On April 18, 1959 he married Joan Motter who survives his passing.
Mr. Light was a member of the Grace Brethren Church, a veteran of the United States Army, and played Church League Fast-pitch softball.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Norm Johnson officiating, under the direction of Heyl Funeral Home, Ashland, Ohio.
Interment will take place at the Ashland County Memorial Park.

Edna Parker, 92, Foster

Edna Loraine Lenox Parker, 92, of Foster, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at her residence. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 19, 1912, the daughter of the late Clifford Lenox and Florence (Houston) Lenox. She married Clyde S. Parker on September 8, 1935 and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2000, andher daughter Clydia Jane Kurtz. She was a retired teacher, a member of Cemetery Chapel Christian Church, Willing Workers Women’s Group at Cemetery Chapel Christian Church.
Survivors include: daughter, Mary Eleanor Hall, Foster, Ky., four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Saturday, October 16, 2004 at Cemetery Chapel Christian Church under the direction of Moore & Parker Funeral Home.
Interment took place in the Lenoxburg Cemetery, Foster, Ky.

Geneva Harrison, 77, Newport

Geneva Harrison, 77 of Newport, formely of Butler, Ky., passed away on Friday, October 15, 2004, at the Baptist Convalescent Center in New-port, Ky. Geneva was born in Bettyville, Ky. on September 14, 1927. the daughter of the late Forester and Etta Tiery. She was a member of the Grants Lick Baptist Church, and one of the first employees, now retired from the D.A.V. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger “Bud” Harrison in 2001, sisters, Ocia Tirey Mosley, Modell Tiery, and brother Fred Tirey.
Survivors include: son, Tim Harrison, Butler, Ky., brothers, Ruford Tirey, Independence, Ky., Bradley Tirey, Morning-view, Ky., sister, Della Tirey, Latonia, Ky., two grandchildren, Sam and Tyler Harrison.

Odella Garrison, 84, Morgan

Odella Hill Garrison, 84, of Morgan, Pendleton County, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2004 at the Harrison Mem-orial Hospital in Cynthiana, Ky. Born on June 24, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Jess and Ollie Boyers Hill. On November 12, 1946, she married Luther Garrison, and her husband preceded her in death on May 15, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Hill.
Survivors include nephews, David Hill, Donnie Moore, great niece, Kelli Hill, great nephew, Chad Hill, and special friends, Betsy Wilson and Christine Antrobus.
Services were held on Monday, October 18, 2004 at the Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth with Rev. Ronald Angell officiating. Pallbearers for the service were Donnie Moore, Kirt Filhardt, Barry Moore, Joe Webster, Jon McCandless, and Jim Wilson. Clarence Courtney served as honorary pallbearer.
Interment took place in the Morgan Cemetery, Pendleton County, Ky.

Loretta Gulick, 73, Falmouth

Loretta Ashcraft Gulick, 73, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2004 at her home. Loretta was born in Pendleton County, Ky., on March 5, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Elizabeth Sharp Ashcraft. She was a member of the Falmouth Methodist Church, Democratic Womens Club, Eta Pi Kappa Sorority, belonged to the Pendleton County Homemakers, and worked as the Pendleton County Circuit Clerk for over 8 years. She married Robert “Bob” Gulick on July 2, 1955 and he survives her passing. She was preceded in death by her brother Johnny Ashcraft.
Additional survivors include daughters, Missy Taylor, Linda Moore, both of Falmouth, Ky., brother, Arthur Ashcraft, Jack-son, Ky., sisters, Mary Hutchi-son, Florence, Ky., Juanita Wulfekamp, Mays Lick, Ky., Dorothy Brunker, Falmouth, Ky. , grandchildren, Chris Moore, and Brittany Crouch.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 from 4-9 p.m. at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky. Services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in the Riverside Cemetery, Fal-mouth, Ky.

Andrew Baldwin, 68, Lexington

Andrew F. Baldwin, 68, of Lexington, pass-ed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at the V.A. Hospital in Lexington. He was the widower of Marie Harney Baldwin, who preceded him in death on May 13, 1996. Born on January 26, 1936 in Lebanon, Ky., he was a son of the late James G. and Mary Lucille May Baldwin. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served 2 years in Germany. He retired after 20 years with NCR in Lexington, 9 years with Prime Computer, and 9 years with U.S. Banc Source.
Survivors include: sons, Keith A. Baldwin, Louisville, James E. Baldwin, Lexington, brother, Jack Baldwin, Louisville.
Services were held on October 23, 2004 at Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry, officiated by Rev. Larry Lee Jones. Casket bearers were: Joe Huff, Frank Donahue, David Scott, Randy Thompson, Bob Fiechter and Steve Ryker.
Interment took place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry.

Eudell Williamson, 77, Falmouth

Eudell Williamson, 77, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on October 20, 2004 at the August Health Care Center. Born in Bourbon County, Ky., on March 22, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Lucy Horn Rose. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oakland Christian Church in Falmouth, Ky. She married A.G. Williamson on December 31, 1946 and he preceded her in death on February 16, 2004.
Surviving is a son Alan Gary (Leslie) Williamson, Falmouth, Ky., grandchildren, Christine Marie and Jazqueline Nicole Williamson both of Falmouth, Ky., brothers, Edwin Rose, Irvine, Ky., David Rose, Falmouth, Ky.
Services were held on October 23, 2004 at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky., with Bro. John Byard officiating. The pallbearers were Tony Ramsey, Curtis Ramsey, Keith Ramsey, Gary Bruin, Benny Bruin, Jerome King, Harold Freeman and Will Browning. Music was beautifully offered by the Oakland Christian Church Choir.
Interment took place in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Pendle-ton County.

Harvey Cordray, 93, Falmouth

Harvey Richard “Joe” Cordray, 93, of Falmouth, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2004 at Edgemont Manor Nursing Home in Cynthiana. Born in Nicholas County, Ky., on June 30, 1911, he was a son of the late William H. and Fannie Fern Fryman Cordray. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Shelton Cordray on January 1, 1985. He retired from 3M Co., Cynthiana and was a member of the Oakland Christian Church, Pendleton County and Pendle-ton County Senior Citizens.
Survivors include brothers, Everett “Jiggs” Cordray, Falmouth, Melvin Cordray, Ft. Thomas, Ky., and several nieces and nephews. He was an avid fisherman and friend to all.
Services were held on Monday, October 25, 2004 at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with Bro. John Byard officiating. Music was beautifully given by Oakland Christ-ian Church Choir. Pallbearers were his nephews, Greg Turner, Bob Cordray, Richard Cordray, David Klee, Joe Klee, Gary Cordray, Barry Cordray, and Steve Harper
Interment took place in the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.

Gerald Ellison, 66, Georgia

Gerald D. “Jerry” Ellison, 66, of Atlanta, Ga., formerly of N. Ky., passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2004 after an extended illness.
Survivors include his mother; Edith Doll, Latonia, Ky., adopted son, John Ellison, Atlanta, Ga., sister, Rita Hodke, Latonia, Ky., brothers, Gilbert Godby, Fairfield, Ohio, Richard Godby, Copley, Ohio, aunt, Lula Stout, Latonia, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky., with Bro. Don Mays officiating.
Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.

 

Connie Johnston, 46, Grants Lick

Connie Roseberry Johnston, 46, of Grants Lick passed away on Sunday, October, 24, 2004 at the St. Luke Hospital in Ft. Thomas, born in Covington, Ky., on February 27, 1958 the daughter of the late Albert Roseberry and Irene Meenach. She was a member of the Fairlane Baptist Church and was employed with the Campbell County School system in the food service department and as a school bus monitor. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Clyde Johnston. She married Roger Johnston on September 23, 1977 and he survives his passing.
Additional survivors include, sons, Andy Johnston, Alex-andria, Ky., Rodney Johnston, Grants Lick, Ky., daughter Amy Johnston, Grants Lick, Ky., brothers, Roger, Steve and Kevin Roseberry all of Alexandria, Ky., and Ed Roseberry of Foster, Ky., sister, Diane Hartig, Melbourne, Ky., mother, Irene Roseberry, Grants Lick, Ky., mother and father-in-law, Roy and Imogene Johnston Harrison, Grants Lick, Ky., and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 28 from, 3-8 p.m. at the Fairlane Baptist Church, Grants Lick, Ky.
Services will be on Thursday, October 29 at 11 a.m. with 1 hour visitation before the service at the church. Peoples Funeral Home, Grants Lick handeled the arrangements for the family.
Interment will take place in the Oakland Cemetery, Grants Lick, Ky.

Helen Jones, 53, Independence

Helen D. Jones, 53, of Independence, Ky., passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at her home after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and a member of the Beaver Lick Baptist Church in Union, Ky. She was born in Hyden, Ky., on June 18, 1951, a daughter of Myrtle Wooten Collins of Florence, Ky., and the late Elisha Collins.
Surviving in addition to her mother, Myrtle Collins, Flor-ence, Ky., is her husband, Harvey Jones, Independence, Ky., sons, Robert Deusenberry, Hyden, Ky., James Jones, Inde-pendence, Ky., daughters, Raelynn Freeman, Dry Ridge, Ky., Kathy Facer, Indepen-dence, Ky., seven step children, sixteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brothers, Carlo Collins, Okeechobee, Fla., John Wilder, Florence, Ky., Jackson Collins, Hyden, Ky., sisters, Joyce Woodall, Florence, Ky., Carolyn Hyde, Dry Ridge, Ky.

Robert Miller, 66, Finneytown

Robert “Dayle” Miller, 66 of Finneytown passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2004. Dayle loved and was loved by his personal “guardian angel”, Cora Pell whom we proudly and loving consider to be not only our sister in Christ but our “family” member, “our” sister. A man of many emotions, so kind and caring for others, so willing to give, so apologetic in his own sorrow, always wanting to help others, a true servant of God. We miss you so much but rejoice knowing the Lord Our God, has called you home to no more sorrow, pain or suffering. Enjoy the fishing Dayle. We love you and will see you soon. He was the beloved husband of the late Lois Anne Miller, loving father of Rodney (Debbie) Miller, of Falmouth, Melody (Tom) Cain, devoted grandfather of Robert “B.J.” and Cassandra “Nichole” Miller, Bradley, Laura, Jacquelyn, Austin and Sean Cain, dedicated brother in Christ and loving devoted brother of Roger Miller, Joyce Harper and Terry Miller, loving son of the late George R. “Bob” and Lula E. Miller, also survived my numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close personal firends.

Edna Aulick, 96, Falmouth

Edna Mae Coleman Aulick, 96, of Falmouth, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at Carmel Manor Nursing Home in Ft. Thomas, Ky. She was born in Pendleton County on May 12, 1908, a daughter of the late Martin and Lizzie Hume Coleman. She was a 1926 graduate of Falmouth High School, and a graduate of the University of Kentucky. She was an English teacher for over 50 years, she taught in a one room Schoolhouse, Falmouth High School, Pendleton County High School, Hollywood, Fla., and Broward County, Florida school systems. She was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Falmouth, past president of Falmouth Women’s club, member of Pendleton County Retired Teachers Assoc., and Northern KY Retired Teachers Assoc. She started the school newspapers and yearbooks for Falmouth and Pendleton County Schools, she was named a Kentucky Colonel by Gov. Martha Layne Collins as a pioneer for Cancer research funding in Pendleton County. She was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Woodhead in 1942, second husband Clarence Aulick in 1961, her son, U.S. Air Force Colonel Dr. David M. Woodhead in 1972, and four brothers, Harry, Frank, William and Leslie Coleman.
Survivors include grandchildren, Marcia Claire Wingate, Walnut Creek, Calif., David Woodhead, Washington, D.C., great-grandchildren, Lisa and Patrick, and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Falmouth, Ky. with Rev. Greg Bach officiating and special music provided by the church choir accompanied by Darryl Ammerman.
The visitation will take place on Wednesday evening from 4-8 p.m. at Woodhead Funeral Ho-me in Falmouth.
Interment will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Falmouth.
Active casket bearers will be Judge Henry Bertram, Bill Johnson, Marvin Sullivan, Ed McCandless, Carol Houchen, Kenneth Gillespie, Mayor Gene Flaugher and Kenneth Butcher. Honorary casket bearers will be Larry Coleman, Dr. Tom Wachtel, Dr. Bob Guyette, Dr. C.L. Kraft, Jim Fossett, Marc Coleman, Mike Coleman, and Jim LaFollette.

Gregory Carl, 24, Augusta

Gregory Thomas Carl, 24, of Augusta, Ky., passed away on Monday, October 25, 2004 at his home. He was born on January 31, 1980, the son of Kenny (Sarah Beth) Carl of Brooksville and Pamela (Roy) Payne of Augusta. He was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church, Brooksville, Ky., and The North American Hunting Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved animals especially his dog Brinks.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Hurley and Deloris Carl.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his children, Brandon Lee Carl and Samuel Marcus Carl of Brooksville, and Ayden Jakob Moran of Augusta. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Tom and Betty McClanahan, Augusta, five brothers and one sister, Trebor Lloyd Bonnell, Chris Allen Carl and Justin Bonnell all of Brooksville, Darin Payne, Ripley, Ohio, Tracy Payne, Wallingford, Ky., Andrea Carl, Augusta, Ky.
Services were held on Friday, October 29, at the Moore & Parker Funeral Home, Brooks-ville, Ky.

Violette Smith, 86, Moline

Violette Ferne Smith, 86, of Moline, formerly of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on October 26, 2004 at her residence.
She was born on April 27, 1918 in Falmouth, Ky., the daughter of Wesley O. and Morena Sorrell Sullivan. Ferne was employed as District Manager for the World Book Encyclopedia for many years, and was also a homemaker. She was an active member of Edgewood Baptist Church for 57 years, where she was a teacher and choir member and member of the Leader Class at church. Ferne also enjoyed writing music and poetry and playing her piano, she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She married Floyd F. Smith on April 20, 1946 in Covington, Ky., and he survives her passing.
Additional survivors include daughters: Sandra (Robert) Jackson, Blacksburg, Va, Cynthia (Michael) Boulting-house, Rock Island, Il, son: Douglas (Pat) Smith, Moline, Il., grandchildren, Todd (Tracy), Troy (Amy) and Tim Malmstrom, Joel and Jeremy (Michelle) Jackson, Jennifer (Mark) Jackson, Moulton, Calley (Jeff) Barnes and Katy (Dave) Wehr, great-grandchildren, Ashlea, Zachery and Hannah Malmstrom, Macey and McKinzie Edwards, brother, Cecil Sullivan, sisters Vida Race and Carrie Stewart.

Service were held on October 29, 2004 at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.
Interment took place at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Ranzy “Randy” Stevens, 35, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Thursday, October 28 in an automobile accident on U.S. 27 in Alexandria, Ky. Randy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 18, 1969, the son of the late Ranzy E. Stevens II and Phyllis McVay Edwards. He was a member of the Uptown Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, he also enjoyed playing music at the church and at home. He was preceded in death by his father Ranzy Stevens II.
Survivors include: wife, Belinda Stevens, Falmouth, Ky., daughter, Paige Stevens and son, Ranzy Stevens IV, both of Falmouth, Ky., mother Phyllis Edwards, Falmouth, Ky., sisters, Amy Workman and Kathy Sergent both of Falmouth, Ky., and Tina Nelson of Southgate, Ky.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at the Gabbard Taber-nacle,Grants Lick, under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky., with visitation starting at noon until 2 p.m. the same day.

Constantine Petrovic, 52, Falmouth

Constantine (Stan) Petrovic, 52, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2004 in a head-on collision while traveling from his farm in Falmouth to Covington on U.S. 27 in Alexandria. With his solid, dependable presence, his ready laugh, and his deep dedication to family, faith, and community, Stan Petrovic was a man for whom integrity was a way of life. A builder by trade, Stan, engineered numerous municipal and private projects. The foundation of his own life, reaching back into his Croatian roots, was as solid as those he crafted in his projects.
Dedicated to his family, he loved his daughters, Emily and Danielle, and took great pride in the women they became. He also opened his heart to his step-sons, Mitchell and Patrick, making them a part of his family. With his wife Karen, he donated countless hours to St. Benedict Church and the Holy Name Society working, cooking and sharing his faith in a tangible way. When not at their home in Covington the couple could be found on their farm in Falmouth, where Stan enjoyed raising Tennessee Walker horses with the same love and dedication he gave so freely to everyone in his life. He truly relished his time on the farm, loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and gun collector.
Survivors include his wife Karen, daughters, Emily and Danielle, stepsons, Mitchell and Patrick Kingston, brother, Pierre, sister and brother-in-law, Maria and Rick Easter, and nephew, Rob Ehlman. A host of other relatives and friends mourn his passing.

Ewell Pierce, 81, Cynthiana

Ewell L. Pierce, 81, of Lafferty Pike, Cynthiana, passed away on Tuesday, Nov-ember 2, 2004, at his home after a long illness. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Berry United Methodist Church and a veteran of WW II U.S. Army. He was born in Harrison County, September 11, 1923, a son of the late George W. and Ruth Atchison Pierce.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marjorie Earle Pierce, sons, Sam, George, Robert, and Ewell Pierce Jr., and Phillip Lee. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, and brother, James D. Pierce, of Paris, Ky.
Services were held on Friday, November 5, at the Pythian Grove Cemetery in Berry, Ky., by Rev. Larry Lee Jones; casket bearers were Sam George, Robert, Ewell Jr., Robery Kelly Pierce, Phillip Lee and Jonathan Pierce Honorary casket bearers, David McNees, Garnett Smiley, Darryl Terhune, Dr. Don Step-hens and Jeff Whitaker.

Edna Spegal, 89, Williamstown

Edna Laverne Spegal, 89, of Williamstown, Ky., passed away on Friday, November 5, 2004 at the Grant Manor Health Care Center, Williamstown, Ky., she was a homemaker and a member of the Grassy Run Baptist Church and the Women’s Miss-ionary Union. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert in 1977, her grandson, Brandon Spegal in 2000 and her sister Shirley Dahms.
Survivors include her son, Ray Spegal, Dry Ridge, Ky., daughters, Ella Jean Dowell, Elsmere, Ky., Barbara Richard-son, Williamstown, Ky., Shirley Rhoton, Dry Ridge, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Wayne, brother, James Wayne and sister, Betty Calvin.

Freda Allen (White) Buerkley, 76, of Augusta, Ky., passed away on Monday, November 15, 2004 at the Augusta Health Care in Augusta, Ky. She was born on November 26, 1927 in Bracken County, the daughter of the late Daniel White and Samantha (Jolly) White. A member of the Cemetery Chapel Christian Church. She married Joseph Earl Buerkley Sr. on February 23, 1946, and he passed away on October 7, 1999. She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Lee White and brother Marshall Edward White.

Belva Leadingham, 96, Wurtland

Belva Adkins Leadingham, 96, of Wurtland, Greenup Co-unty, Ky., passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2004 in the Thomasville Medical Center in Thomasville, N.C., with her daughters at her bedside. She was born on Shanty Branch, Carter County, Ky., on Dec. 5, 1907, the daughter of the late Frank Newberry and Anna Mary Stewart Adkins. Her mother died when she was 13 months old and she was raised by her grandparents, Wiser and Mar-garet Jane Williams Adkins of Shanty Branch.
Ms. Leadingham was a lifelong member of the Wesleyan Church (prior Pilgrim Holliness Church), where she served the Lord faithfully, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, not only to her family, but everyone she encountered during her 42 years as the wife of the Rev. Meredith Franklin Leadingham, who pastored Wesleyan Churches in Pike, Bracken, Pendleton, and Green-up Counties, Ky., until they retired in Wurtland, Greenup County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Meredith Franklin Leadingham; two sisters, Margaret Ellen Adkins and Hermie Adkins Davis Patrick; two sons, Joseph Earl and Donald Ray Leadingham. She had 13 half brothers and sisters, nine of which preceded her in death, Carl Adkins, Milford Adkins, Alma Adkins Yates, Josephine Adkins Burton, Proctor Adkins, Wilma “Billie” Adkins Wilson, Willard Adkins, James Edward Adkins, and Donald Eugine Adkins. Four are still living, Kathryn Adkins Crum of Lexington, Ky., Francis “Fan-nie” Adkins Hollingsworth, As-hland, Ky., Verna Fay Adkins Tackett, Russell, Ky., and Jackie Nelson Adkins.
Survivors include: daughters, Hermia (Edward) Beatrice Rouse, Kernersville, N.C., Imo-gene (Carl) Elliott, Waynesville, Ohio, Joyce (Rev. Leon) Thom-pson, Thomasville, Pattie (Rev. Larry) Freeman, Kodak, Tenn., sons, Paul Leadingham, Fred-erick, Md., Jessie (Betty) Conley Leadingham, Greenup, Lawrence E. (Emma Marshall) Leadingham, Tampa, Fla., Char-les David Leadingham, Kette-ring, Ohio, twenty-two grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at the Wesleyan Church in Green-up by Brothers Larry Freeman, Leon Thompson and Kirtley Sipple under the direction of Wright’s Funeral Home, Greenup.
Interment took place at the Belefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Ky.

Barry Trapp, 49, of Grants Lick, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at his home. Barry was born in Grants Lick, Ky., on August 7, 1955, the son of the late James Bruce and Wanda Rae Cocka-yne Trapp. He was chief of the Campbell County Water and Rescue for 10 years, member of the Campbell County Assoc-iation of Firefighters for over 10 years. President of the Kentucky Land Aprovement Contractors Association and member of the Southern Campbell County Fire Department. He married Donna Moreland Trapp on April 30, 1983 and she survives his passing. He was preceded in death by a daughter Larisa Trapp.

Ruth B. Iler, 83, of Naples Florida, passed away on October 18, 2004 at Naples Community Hospital. Formerly of Foster, Ky. Mrs. Iler was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 13, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian Zwilling, she was a homemaker and an avid bowler.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, David Iler, sister, Betty Vice, Fox Lake, Ill., several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Quincy Everett “Bill” Pugh, Jr., 78, a 6th generation Kentucky farmer, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2004 at the St. Elizabeth North Hospice in Covington, Ky. Born on April 2, 1926 in Sunrise, Ky., he was a son of the late Quincy Pugh Sr., and Irene Whalen Traylor. He was a lifelong resident of Pendleton County, and a member of Mt. Gilead Christian Church in Harrison County, Ky.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Avery Pugh and Robert Arlie Pugh, two sisters, Lelia Mae Swart, and Mary Frances Cloe.
Survivors include, brothers, Fred Pugh, Edgewood, Ky., Adrian Pugh, Pendleton Co., Ky., Wallace Pugh, Pendleton Co., Ky., Orie Linus Pugh, Butler, Ky., sisters, Betty P. Wolfe, Cincinnati, Ohio, Marquerite “Margie” Brown, Ridge Manor, Fla., Carolyn Walthers, Pendleton, Co., Ky., and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Friday, November 26, 2004 at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky. Bro. Chad Doerr performed the service. Music was shared by Adarin Williams. Casket bearers for the service were Paul Wolfe, Tom McCandless, Rodney Wolfe, Kevin Wolfe, Terry Pugh, David Swart, and Llanos Wolfe. Honorary Casket bearers were Bill Andy Flynn, Johnny O. Flynn, and Gary Hardy.
Interment followed in the Sunrise Cemetery.

Mary McMillan, 78, Erlanger

Mary Frances McMillan, 78, of Erlanger, formerly of Harrison County, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2004, at the Village Care Center in Erlanger. Born on August 11, 1926 in Berry, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Bertha Bailey Lonaker. Her husband Charles (Jr.) McMillan preceded her in death in August 1988. She was a retired secretary and a member of the Madison Avenue Christian Church in Covington.
Survivors include, daughter, Vickie Brisbin, Florence, Ky., sons, Steve McMillan, Bonita Springs, Fla., Ron McMillan, Roscoe, Illinois, Gary Mc-Millan, Santa Maria, Calif., six grandchildren and one great grandson.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2004, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. The visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday preceding the service.
Interment will take place in the Riverside Cemetery, Fal-mouth.

William Russ, 66, of California, Ky., passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2004 at The St. Luke Hospital, Fort Thomas, Ky., he was a welder for The Lingo Co., Florence, Ky.
Survivors include, wife Bobbi Jean Russ, sons, Sammy Lee Russ and Kenneth Russ, both of California, Ky., daughter, Candy Wamsatt, Hebron, Ky., sisters, Sally Golden, Barboursville, Ky., Mary Hale, Newport, Ky., three grandchildren.

Roy A. Yoakum, 90, formerly of Butler, Ky., passed away on November 15, 2004. Mr. Yoakum was born October 6, 1914, in Tazwell, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola, sons, Kenneth and Doyle Yoakum, daughters, Christine Baumgarder and Verna Jannette Tanner.
Survivors include, daughter, Helen Campbell, son, David Yoakum, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Eva Jewel Beckett, 63, Falmouth

Eva Jewel Beckett, 63, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at the Lakeside Place Nursing Home in Highland Heights, Ky. She was a member of the Sunrise Christian Church in Harrison Co., Falmouth chapter of the Order of Eastern Star #481 where she was past Worthy Matron, District 3 Ambassador of Good Will to the Eastern Star Home, and retired employee of Pendleton County High School, CVS Pharmacy and B.B’s Licking Valley Store in Falmouth. She was born in Pendleton County, Kentucky, on April 4, 1941, a daughter of the late William and Frances King Beckett.
Survivors are two aunts, Wilma (Bill) Polley, Indepen-dence, Ky., Betty King, Cynthi-ana, Ky., uncle, Oren Beckett, Falmouth, Ky., and a dear friend Dorcas Ficke, a host of relatives and friends.
Services were held on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth, Ky., with Bro. Don Thomas officiating. Music was shared by Darryl Ammerman, a friend, Judy Munson, gave her eulogy. Serving as pallbearers were Bernard (Teddy) Greene, Donald Monson, Clay Clifford, Bobby Brown, William (Bill) Thompson, Ray Boodry, Darryl Ammerman, and Brandon Ross.
The Falmouth Chapter #481, Order of Eastern Star conducted a beautiful memorial service, present at the service were Jewel Price, Worthy Matron, Bernard Greene, Worthy Patron, and Emma Garrison of the Falmouth Chapter. Also in attendance were Judy Munson Gertrude Chapter #19 from Newport, Maxine and Bobby Brown, Williamstown Chapter #301, Libbee Fooks; Florence Star Chapter #559 from Florence, Janice Bowling and Nora Vaughn; Bradford Chapter #492 of Independence, and approximately 20 additional members of Eastern Star Chapters.
Interment took place in the Sunrise Cemetery in Harrison County.
Memorial are suggested to the Falmouth Chapter #481, Order of Eastern Star or Hospice of Northern Kentucky.

 

Anne Kleinschmidt, 52, Falmouth

Anne Elizabeth Kleinschmidt, 52, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2004 at her home. Anne was born in San-Tome, Venezuela on March 15, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Leyden Thomas Hoffmann and Judith Malone Hoffmann. She was a Minister of the Disciples of Christ Christian Church, and also a member of the Rotary Club. She married Johnn R. Kleinschmidt, Jr., and he survives her passing. She was preceded in death by her father Leyden Thomas Hoffmann.

Timothy Edward Ignatovich, 58, of Highway 10, Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2004 at his home. Timothy was born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania on April 3, 1946. He was the son of the late Joseph Ignatovich and Lois Hoffman Ignatovich. A member of the Knights of Columbus, shipping lead at T.F.E. in Hebron, Ky. He married Janice Hitch Ignatovich on June 6, 1998 and she survives his passing. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Ignatovich and a daughter, Tina Marie Igna-tovich.

Rufus Jones, 98, Falmouth

Rufus Jones, 98, of Falmouth, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at the Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, Ky. Born in Harrison County on September 3, 1906, he was a son of the late Alvin Tinker and Martha Stone Jones. He was a retired self-employed carpenter for 60 years, and renovated the Pendleton County Courthouse in the 1970’s. He was the oldest member of Blanket Creek Baptist Church, and a lifelong member and founder of the Pendleton-Grant County Fox Hunter’s Assoc-iation. Known by many as “Grandpa Jones”, he enjoyed farming, carpenter work, and a good fox hunt. He will be missed by many friends who loved to hear his stories of how life was when he was young, and how things have changed. On March 28, 1928, he married his high school sweetheart, Frances Elizabeth Wiglesworth, and his dear wife preceded him in death on December 14, 1999.
Survivors include, daughters, Margaret (William) Ritter, Falmouth, Joyce Ann (Jim) Crigler, Shepherdsville, Ky., son Clarence Ray (Janice Wheeler) Jones, Louisville, Ky., five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth, with Rev. Wayne Biddle, Rev. Don Mays, and Rev. Richard Len Jones officiating. Music will be shared by Adarin Williams and Brandon Godman. Casket bearers will be Henry Aulick, Jim Piechnik, Larry Fields, Wayne Fields, Todd LayTart and Carl Blackburn.
Interment will take place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery in Berry, Ky.

Syliva Draper, 64, of Williamstown, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Grant County, Ky. She was a Nurse’s Aide for the Dry Ridge Personal Care Home. Born on March 16, 1940 in Holbrook, Ky., the daughter of the late George Smith and Thelma Louise Snow Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Herbert Draper on November 29, 1994.

She was born in Breathitt County Ky., on June 13, 1937, the daughter of the late Levi and Florence Thomas Oaks. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy and Willard Oaks, and sister, Gladys Shouse.She married Wilbur (Bill) Oaks on October 16, 1954 and he survives his passing.

Larry Brown, 55, Alexandria

Larry N. Brown, 55, of Alexandria, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2004 at his home. He was born on August 21, 1949, a son of the late Noble Ford and Tressie Mae Courtney Brown. On September 16, 1972 he married Cindra Moloney, and his wife survives his passing. He was retired from Western-Southern Financial Group of Cincinnati and a member of Plum Creek Christian Church.
In addition to his wife Cindy Brown, he leaves two daughters, Amanda Hope Brown, and Courtney Brook Brown.
Services will be held at 12 p.m. noon on Thursday, Dece-mber 23, 2004 at the Plum Creek Christian Church. Interment will follow in the Plum Creek Cemetery. Harriett Martina Ingles Cour-tney, 94, of Butler, Ky., passed away on Monday, December 13, 2004 at St. Luke Hospital, West. She was born in Pendleton County on December 6, 1910. She was a homemaker and a member of the Turner Ridge Baptist Church, the daughter of the late Alvin Ingles and Hallie (Powell) Ingles. She married Hubert Courtney on December 23, 1932, and he preceded her in death on October 10, 1982.

Mitchell, Ky., Mark Schwartz, Butler, Ky., Melissa Hacker, California, Ky., Melody Dickens, Covington, Ky., Kristi Beck, Alexandria, Ky., five great-grandchildren, Alyson Flarity, Ft. Mitchell, Ky., Joseph Dickens, Coving-ton, Ky., John Tyler Schwartz, Butler, Ky., Noah and Hannah Beck, Alexandria, Ky., four nieces,and one nephew.
Services were held on Thur-sday, December 16, 2004 at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Brooksville, Ky.
Interment will take place in the Downard Cemetery, Foster, Ky.

William Godman, 51, Cynthiana

William Keith “Billy” Godman, 51, of Dryden Road, Harrison County, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2004, at his residence. Born in Pendleton County on April 15, 1953, to Marjorie Turner Godman of Milford and the late William Kenneth Godman, he was a TI Automotive employee, a member of the Milford Christian Church and attended Unity Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles K. and Verna Hazel Newman Godman, maternal grandparents, Nim A. and Maude Taylor Turner and a nephew, Kenny A. Jones.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of twenty six years, Donna McVey Godman, sons, Bryan Keith Godman, Richmond and Derrick Wayne Godman, Lexington, brother Charles (Debbie) Godman, Brooksville, sister, Janet K. (Gerald) Fields, Falmouth, two nieces, a nephew, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana, Ky.
Visitation will be from 5-8 on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in the Battle Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.

 

Timothy Fitterer, 44, Dayton

Timothy Joseph Fitterer, 44, of Dayton, Ky., passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at The St. Luke East Hospital, Fort Thomas, Ky. He was a driver for UPS, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Survivors include his daughter, Talesha Fitterer, Newport, Ky., brothers, Gary Fitterer, Taylor Mill, Ky., James Fitterer, Newport, Ky., sister, Cheryl Fitterer, Pendleton County, Ky.
Services were held on Saturday, December 18, 2004 ath The Trinity Baptist Church, 5th & Park, Newport, Ky.
Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, Ky., was in charge of the arrangements.

Alice Ann Hampton, 66, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Monday, December 20, 2004 at her home. Arrangements pending at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.

 

Hattie Wynn, 90, Florence

Hattie Wynn, 90, of Florence, Ky., formerly of Alexandria, Ky., passed away on Monday, December 20, 2004 at The Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence, Ky. She was a homemaker and the wife of the late Chester Wynn who preceded her in death in 1988.
Survivors include: son, James Arthur Wynn, Florence, Ky., ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at the Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, Ky.
Interment took place in The Concord Cemetery, Pendleton County, Ky.

 

Wanda Eckert, 74, Butler

Wanda Pribble Eckert, 74, of Butler, Ky., passed away on Monday December 20, 2004 at her home. Wanda was born in Kentucky on November 22, 1930, the daughter of the late Albert and Carrie Lee Cummins Pribble. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church. She married William “Bill” Eckert on March 31, 1951, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include: daughters, Susie Turner and Debbie Mayes, Butler, Ky., brother, Lloyd Pribble, Butler, Ky., sisters, Alta Adams, Butler, Ky., Carolyn Bivens, Augusta, Ky., four grandchildren, Amy Smith, Emilly Turner, Scott and Amanda Mayes, and two great-grandchildren, Jared and Carson Mayes.
Services were held on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.
Interment took place in the Butler Cemetery, Butler, Ky.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope-Maysville, KY 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, KY 41056.

 

Anna Newkirk, 73, Falmouth

Anna Mae Newkirk, 73, of Falmouth, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2004, at the St. Luke Hospital in Ft. Thomas. She was born on June 16, 1931 in Elkton, Maryland, a daughter of the late Grover and Mary Ellen Neal Lodge. She married Harold Newkirk on December 17, 1949 and her dear husband preceded her in death on July 5, 2004. She was a member of the Short Creek Baptist Church, Pendleton County. She worked for the former Dr. Scholl’s Factory in Falmouth and as a home health aide.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Jane Price and Laura Lodge and three brothers, Robert, Grover, and Taylor Lodge.
Survivors include, daughter, Patricia Ann Shepperd, Fa-lmouth, sons, Harold Michael Newkirk, Allen Wayne New-kirk, both of Falmouth, seven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services were held on December 23, 2004 at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth with Bro. Don Mays officiating. Music was shared by Adarin Williams. The pallbearers were Allen, Jonathan, Matthew, Tim, Mike and Tammy Newkirk, and Bob Gossman.
Interment took place in the Newkirk Family Cemetery at Kincaid Lake State Park, Falmouth.

 

Jane York, 89, Morning View

Jane York, 89, of Morning View, passed away on December 19, 2004. She was a member of the Crittenden Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph York in 1977, sons, Robert Joseph York, in 1967 and Ralph W. York, Jr.
Survivors include her sister, Helen Brown, Butler, Ky.
Services were held on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 under the direction of Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton, Ky.
Interment took place in the Falmouth Riverside Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Crittenden Christian Church 106 North Main Street, Crittenden, KY 41030 or Walton Christian Church.
