Ray Howard, 73, Falmouth

Ray Howard, 73, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital South. Ray was born in Hazard, Ky., on October 10, 1931. He was the son of the late William and Lillie Howard. He was a member of the Community Pente-costal Church of God-Taylor Mill, Ky. He married Josephine Smith Howard, and his dear wife survives his passing. They had been married for 56 years.
Additional survivors include his sons, Don Howard, Inde-pendence, Ky., John Howard, Phoenix, Arizona, Jim Howard, Butler, Ky., Gary Howard, Bowling Green, Ky., Talmadge Howard, Butler, Ky., brothers, Ray Howard, Florida, John R. Howard, Butler, Ky., David Howard, Hazard, Ky., ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Monday, June 27, 2005 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Butler, Ky.
Interment took place in the Riverside Cemetery.

 

Lily Booher, 92, Walnut Creek

Lily Lee Booher, 92, recently of Walnut Creek, Ohio and formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, and Falmouth, passed away on November 23, 2004 in Walnut Creek. She was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Ida Mae Ellis Yelton and the widow of the late Benjamin C. Booher who preceded her in death in 1983.
Mrs. Booher was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star Ellbrook Chapter No. 408. Formerly, she was an active member of the Falmouth United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Ann Richards, Sherrodsville, Ohio, Alice Sue Wells, California, son, John W. Booher, Weston, Fla., grandchildren, Jeffery Richards, Tracy Ramos, Kimbra Treadwell, and Amanda, Rachel, Elizabeth, and Rebecca Booher, great grandchildren, Heather Schweiger, Jeffery and Chad Richards, Eric and Tiffany Ramos, Kathleena and Zachary Treadwell, and the late Tabitha Ramos, great great grandchild, Shaine Schweiger, siblings, Mary Austin, Glen Yelton, the late Esther Record, the late Kenneth Yelton, the late Ballard Yelton, the late Albert Yelton, the late John Yelton, and the late Hope Fanning.
A graveside memorial service will be held on July 2, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth. Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, is serving the family.

 

Marie Bowling, 89, Crittenden

Marie Turner Bowling, 89, of Crittenden, Ky., passed away on Monday, June 20, 2005 at the St. Luke Hospital, West, Flor-ence, Ky. She was born in Grant County, Ky., on December 22, 1915, the daughter of the the late Leonard and Una Caldwell Turner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Bowling on September 23, 1982, they had been married for 41 years, and her daughter Dolly West who passed away on April 16, 1988. She was a member of the Gardnersville Christ-ian Church, Pendleton County, Ky., a former S.S. teacher and Bible school teacher, she was also an avid gardener.
Survivors include her son, Gerald “Butch” Bowling, Critt-enden, Ky., daughters, Peggy Jent, Crittenden, Ky., Lois Rich, Walton, Ky., Sandra Wolfe, Morningview, Ky., nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Crittenden, Ky., under the direction of Rev. Dave Huddleston and Rev. Paul Stamper.
Interment took place in the Gardnersville Cemetery, Gard-nersville, Ky.

Paul Wilbur Gerhard, 89, Augusta

Paul Wilbur Gerhard, 89, Brooksville, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2005 at the Augusta Health Care Facility in Augusta, Ky. Paul was born in Augusta, Ky. on October 31, 1915. He was preceded in death by his wife Lelia Cordrey Gerhard.
Paul was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ky. and American Pollen Hereford Assoc., Lifelong Polled Hereford Breeder, was a prominent farmer/landowner in Bracken and Mason County, and a partner in Augusta Farm Supply.
Survivors include his children, Judith Ann (Harold) Foster, Augusta, Ky., Edward E. (Joyce Ann) Gerhard, Brooksville, Ky., Joyce D. (Steve) Arthur, Brooksville, Ky., grandchildren, Mary E. Montgomery, Ron Foster, Ed Foster, Tara G. Boling, Gregory A. Gerhard, Nathan D. Gerhard, 9 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Interment will take place in the Brooksville Cemetery, Brooksville, Ky.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Paul Lutheran Church or Hospice of Hope or Charity of Choice.

Raymond Moreland, 78, Owenton

Raymond Moreland, 78, of Owenton, Ky., formerly of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital South. Raymond was born in Cynthiana, Ky., on April 27, 1927, the son of the late John and Daisy Frances Moore. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and also served in the U.S. Army. He was a WW2 Veteran serving in Germany from November 1945 to September 1946. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marjorie Moreland, brother, Melvin Moreland and sisters, Mildred Harper and Doris Miles.
Survivors include his wife of thirteen years, Wanda Moreland, Owenton, Ky., daughter, Glenda Harmon, Jonesville, Ky., sisters, Jane Beadle, Illinois, Judy Magee, Cynthiana, Ky., Joyce Stewart, Bryan Station, Texas, one grandson, Terry Lee Deskin and six step-grandchildren.
Services were held on Saturday, July 2, 2005 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Fal-mouth, Ky.
Interment took place in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pen-dleton County.

Minnie Wainscott, 86, Berry

Minnie Mae Tomlin Wain-scott, 86, of Berry, Ky., passed away on Monday, June 27, 2005 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Williamstown, Ky. Born on April 21, 1919 in Grant County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Esom and Geneva Chipman Tomlin, she married Victor Wainscott and he preceded her in death on September 14, 1994 after 59 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Earnest Tomlin. She was a farmer and homemaker, a member of the Salem Methodist Church, Williamstown, Ky.
Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Brenda Wolfe, Falmouth, Ky., Betty Martin, Florence, Ky., Sue Wolfe, Florence, Ky., Judy Schroeder, Williamstown, Ky., Candy Brun, Melbourne, Ky., sons, Gayle Wainscott, Berry, Ky., Richard Wainscott, Morgan, Ky., Robert Wainscott, Falmouth, Ky., sister, Geneva Dunn, Cedar Creek, CA., twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Thurs-day, June 30, 2005 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, Ky.
Interment took place in the Williamstown Cemetery, Williamstown, Ky.

Ruth Perkins, 77, Cynthiana

Ruth Perkins, 77, of Cynthi-ana, Ky., formerly of Falmouth, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at her home. She was the widow of Roy Perkins.

Ruth Perkins, 77, Cynthiana

Ruth Perkins, 77, of Cynthiana, Ky., formerly of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at her residence. Born on December 8, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Green Clay and Rosie Hurst Golden. On August 16, 1981, she married Roy Perkins, and her husband preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Jackie Eugene Hensley, three brothers, Jim, Henry, and Crit Golden, and two sisters, Nora Hensley and Zella Mae Golden.
Survivors include her children, Rose Colligan, Cynthiana, Ky., Opal Jean (David) Pike, Cocoa, Fla., Shellie (Patty) Hensley, Jr., Corinth, Ky., Ralph (Ruth) Hensley, Berry, Ky., eighteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and one brother, Ben Golden. She was honorary grandmother to the Corral Trailer Park in Falmouth, Ky. Services were held on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at the Wood-head Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky. Interment took place in the Camp Nelson Cemetery in Danville, Ky. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Harrison Memorial Hospital, 1210 Ky., Hwy 36E, Cynthiana, KY 41031.

 

Tony Taylor, 59, Augusta

Tony Taylor, 59, of Augusta, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at St. Elizabeth Hospital North, Covington. He was the son of the late Glenn and Neppie Dennis Taylor. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Taylor Riley in 1985 and a sister, Joan Kelly. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Augusta, Ky.
Survivors include his grandson, Brandon Keith Riley, brothers, Wes and Dennis England, both of Cincinnati, Bonnie Newby, Hamlet, N.C., Linda Williams, Falmouth, Ky., Diana French, Maysville, Ky.
Services were held on Saturday, July 2, 2005 at Moore & Parker Funeral Home, Augusta, Ky.
Interment took place in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Germantown.

Frank Schof Jr., 77, California

Frank “Chris” Schof, Jr., of California, Ky., passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at the University Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a construction worker for The Walter Con-struction Company, Cincinnati, Ohio, and a member of the Oakland Methodist Church, Melbourne, Ky. Survivors include his wife, Rosella Schof, daughters, Ella Fuller, Ridge-land, South Carolina, Wanda Manahan, Mississippi, Tina DiPaoleaux, California, Ky., son, Richard Schof, California, Ky., brothers, Ervin Schof, California, Ky., Jacob Schof, Cold Spring, Ky., Charley Schof, Florida, sisters, Anna Bythewood, Union, Ky., Shirley Studer, California, Ky., six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Saturday, July 2, 2005 at the Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, Ky.
Interment took place in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Carthage, Ky. 8.

 

Frances Parks, 82, Nicholasville

Frances Sponcil Parks, 82, of Nicholasville, Ky., formerly of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2005. Born on June 5, 1923 in Jessamine County to the parents of France and Minnie Ogden Sponcil. She was a member of the Nicholas-ville Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Alma Sponcil Dempsey and brothers, Willard and Billy Sponcil. Survivors include her son Keith (Kim) Messmer, Garrad County, daughters, Elaine Foster (Joe) Phelan, Lexington, Ky., Brenda Parks (Billy) Jasper, Nicholasville, Ky., grandchildren, Jim and Jason Jasper, Stephanie Foster, Coulter and Elujah Messmer and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held on June 11, 2005 at Betts & West Funeral Home, Nicholasville, Ky., officiated by Rev. Mike Snider, Rev. Jim Dempsey and Kathy Miller. Pallbearers were Jerry and Wayne Sponcil, Bob Browning, Gerald Cobb, Lewis Travis and Victor Robinson. Interment took place in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

Henry Nickels, 55, Dry Ridge

Henry Wayne Nickels, 55, of Dry Ridge, Ky., passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2005 at his home. He was a member of the Wilmington Baptist Church, he was employed at Aristech Acrylics in Florence, Ky., as a leadman. He was the son of the late Charles Nickels and Lou Nickels.

Marcella Mockbee, 77, Arizona

Marcella Ray Mockbee, 77, of Arizona, formerly of Falmouth., passed away peacefully on June 7, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Lt. Col. James R. “Bob” Mockbee, son, Mont-gomery and parents, Julia and Charles Reeves. She was born in Butler and grew up in rural Kentucky. She attended high school in Cincinnati and then returned to Falmouth, where she met Bob. After marrying Bob, they lived in many different places, including Alaska and Germany, prior to retiring to Tucson, Arizona. Falmouth always remained their “home” and they returned frequently to see family and friends. Marcella enjoyed golfing, entertaining, doing crafts and spending time with loved ones. She was devoted to her family and was an outstanding homemaker.
Survivors include her daughters, Melody and Joy, sister, Kathy Brown, brother, Paul Reeves, grandchild, Melody, and two-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth, Ky. Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky., is serving the family.

 

Norma Burleson, 73, Florida

Norma Burleson, 73, of Daytona Beach, Florida passed away on July 1, 2005 at The Horizon Convalescent Home, Daytona Beach, Florida. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Burleson, daughter, Marquetta Liddle, Astor, Florida, sons, Matthew Burleson, New Smyrna, Florida, Randall Burleson, Edgewater, Florida, sister, Nora Cooper, Grants Lick, Ky., six grandchildren. Services were held on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at The Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, Ky.
Interment took place in the Arlington Memorial Gardens, Mt. Healthy, Ohio.

Gladys Price Flynn, 88, Covington

Gladys M. Price Flynn, 88, of Covington, Ky., passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2005 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, South, Edgewood, Ky. She was a retired cook for Nicener’s, Cincinnati, Ohio, I.R.S. Center, Covington, Ky., and Wendy’s Restaurant. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Covington, Ky. She was preceded in death by her husband Covie Flynn.
Survivors include her brother, Kenneth Price, Covington, Ky., sister, Doris Vanlandingham, Florence, Ky., and several nieces and nephews. Services were held on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at Allison & Rose Funeral Home, Covington, Ky. Interment took place in the Oakland Christian Church Cemetery, Pendleton County, Ky.

Cliston Blaine Fardo, Grants Lick

Cliston Blaine Fardo of Grants Lick, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at the Florence Park Nursing Center in Florence, Ky. He was a retired truck driver, a member of the Teamsters Union Cincinnati Local, 32 Degree Mason and a member of the Aspen Grove Lodge #397 in Alexandria. A WW2 Veteran and a past member of the Board of Directors of the Butler Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Fardo and stepdaughter, Patricia Garrison.
Survivors include his stepdaughter, Lynda Martinelli, Edgewood, Ky.
Graveside services were held on Friday, July 8, 2005 at the Flour Creek Cemetery.
Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, Ky., handled the arrangements for the family.

 

Larry Hearld, 62, Newport

Larry David Hearld, 62, of Newport, Ky., passed away on June 17, 2005 at his residence. He was an employee of the Warmans Foundry in Cincinnati. Survivors include his wife, Vivian Hearld, Newport, sons, Alvin Glover, Brown County, Ohio, Ray Glover, Newport, Ky., Sammy Glover, Newport, Ky., daughter, Annette Gendryski, Covington, Ky., brother, Clarence Hearld, Newport, Ky., stepsister, Carolyn Hoskins, Newport, Ky., thirteen grandchildren.
Services were held at the Keturah St. Church of God last week. Interment took place in the Persimmon Grove Cemetery. Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, handled the arrangements for the family.

Edna Larkin, 89, Falmouth

Miss Edna Veronica Larkin, 89, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at the Grand Haven Nursing Home in Cynthiana, Ky. Born on July 24, 1915 in Falmouth, Ky., she was the daughter fo the late John and Alice Malloy Larkin. She was a life long resident of Falmouth and a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Falmouth. She was a member of the Pendleton County Senior Citizens and for the past 20 years, she was the coordinator for senior transportation for Pendleton County. She is survived by her best friend and cousin, Robert Malloy, her cousins, Virginia “Jean” Showalter, Pat Malloy and JoAnn Brann, and a host of dear friends.
A mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Falmouth, Ky., with the Rev. Gary Bach officiating. Casket bearers were Phil Showalter, Joe Showalter, Rick Showalter, Leonard Schroer and Andrew Schroer. Interment took place in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Falmouth.
Memorials are suggested to Pendleton County Senior Citizens, 1111 Chipman Street, Falmouth, KY 41040, St. Francis Xavier Church 202 2nd Street, Falmouth, KY 41040 or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 506 E. Pike Street, Cynthiana, Ky.

Leola Wright, 99, Falmouth

Leola Fern Bradford Wright, 99, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Friday, July 15, 2005 at her home. Mrs. Wright was born in Pendleton County on December 13, 1905, the daughter of the late John Luther and Maude Bradford Wright. She was a longtime member of the Falmouth Methodist Church, and was well known by friends and relatives, church familes, and a member of the Pendleton County Senior Citizens. She married R. Colvin Wright on June 2, 1931 and he passed away on July 15, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Gladys Taliafero, Ruth Evelyn Tucker. Survivors include her sons, Edwin Larue Wright, Batavia, Ohio, Richard J. Wright, Orlando, Fla., four grandchildren, Elizabeth Boos, Orlando, Susan Walsh, Columbia, South Carolina, Kimberly Troxell and Steven Wright, both of Ohio, and ten great-grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2005 at the Falmouth Methodist Church. Interment took place in the Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.

 

Larry Minton, 56, Georgetown

Larry F. Minton, 56, of Georgetown, Ky., formerly of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky. Larry was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 1, 1949, the son of Charles Minton and Gloria Robbins. He was a member of the American Legion Post #14 in Georgetown, Ky., a veteran in the United States Army, Airborne division and he also worked in the maintenance department at Toyota in Georgetown, Ky. He was united in marriage to Patsy Grady Minton on May 30, 1971 and his dear wife survives his passing. He was preceded in death by his brother Frank Minton. In addition to his wife, Patsy Minton, Georgetown, Ky., he is survived by his father, Charles Minton, Michigan, mother, Gloria Robbins, Falmouth, Ky., daughters, Alice Tobergta, and Brenda Minton, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, Bess Ann Minton, Georgetown, Ky., brothers, Charles Minton, Pen-nsylvania, Mark and Scott Minton, both of Michigan, sisters, Paula and Barbara Minton both of Michigan, and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky., with services the same day following the visitation.
Interment will take place in the Peach Grove Cemetery, Pendleton County.

 

Robert Middleton, 88, Williamstown

Robert Lee “Boone” Middleton, 88, of Williamstown, Ky., passed away on Thurs-day, July 14, 2005. He was a lifelong farmer and a World War II Army Veteran. He ws preceded in death by his brothers, Richard “Dick” and Charles Middleton, sister, Dorothy Middleton. Survivors include his sister-in-law, Irene Middleton, Cull-man, Ala., several cousins and friends. Services were held on Sunday, July 17, 2005 at the Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home.
Interment took place in the Hill Crest Cemetery. VA Service was provided by the American Legion Hardin-Browning Post #109, Falmouth, Ky.

 

Judith Schalk, 67, California

Judith Rae Schalk, 67, of California, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at her residence. She was the wife of Thomas Schalk. Raised in Dayton, Ky., Judy made her home there and served as the Lincoln Elementary School secretary for 33 years. She was a longtime member of the Bellvue Baptist Church until she relocated to California, Ky., and became a member of the Persimmon Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her husband she is survived by her sons, Gregory Schalk, Newport, Ky., Brian Schalk, Elsmere, daughter, Jane Batsche, Alexandria, Ky., and six grandchildren. Services were held on Firday, July 15, 2005 at the Persimmon Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, Ky. Interment took place in the Persimmon Grove Cemetery.

 

Galen Jarvis, 78, Illinois

Galen Jarvis, 78, of Illinois passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at his home in Des Plaines, Illinois from cirrhosis of the liver. Born in Bremen, Ky., where his father worked in the coal mines. Mr. Jarvis and his family moved at the start of World War II to Detroit where he graduated from high school. In 1945, he entered the Army and served for two years. He was a natural educator who also loved learning. He knew how important education was in an individual’s life and he wanted to be a part of that process. He married Martha DeHart in 1949, she was from Butler, Ky. In 1953, with a 5 month-old baby, the couple moved to Panama, where he taught high school, then returned to Illinois where he earned a doctorate degree in 1964. Survivors include his son, Jan, daughter, Jennifer Richter, brother, Charles Auburn Jarvis and three granddaughters. A Memorial service was held on Saturday, July 9, in the First Congregational Church of Des Plaines, Illinois.

Kenneth McDowell, 48, Falmouth

Kenneth Wayne McDowell, 48, of Fal-mouth, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2005, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. Born on April 7, 1957 in Campbell County, Ky., he was the son of Shelby McDowell and the late Mabel Austin McDowell. He was a 1976 graduate of Pendleton High School. He married Mary Dunckley McDowell on February 3, 1976, and his dear wife survives his passing. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served from 1978-1983, and he was a member of the Florence Nazarene Church and the Falmouth Volunteer Fire Department. He had been an employee of the Kroger Company, Cold Spring, Ky.
In addition to his wife of 29 years, Mary Dunckley McDo-well, he leaves six children, Howard Lee Kraus, Falmouth, Mary Elizabeth Brearton, Falmouth, Jessica Teegarden, Berry, Harry Losey, Falmouth, Susandawn McDowell, Fal-mouth, Kelley Mabel Brill, Falmouth, his father and stepmother, Shelby and Norma McDowell, Falmouth, sister, Vivian Marquardt, Falmouth, brothers, Thomas McDowell, Erlanger, Michael McDowell, Falmouth, fifteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his mother-in-law, Sarah Dunckley, Falmouth.
Services were held on Saturday, July 23, 2005 at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with Rev. William Dorgan officiating. Music was shared by Matt Sorrell and Theresa Mullins. The pallbearers were Tom McDowell, Mike McDowell, Bruce Sorrell, James Brearton, Mel Reynolds, and James Brearton, III. The honorary pallbearers were his grandsons and the members of the Falmouth Volunteer Fire Department.
Interment took place in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Pendle-ton County, with full military honors by the Hardin-Browning Post #109. The funeral procession was led by a Falmouth Fire Truck in honor of his service to the Falmouth Volunteer Fire Department. Lillian Alene Thomas, 85, of Falmouth, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2005 at her residence. Born on March 5, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Azro and Hila Rose Sevier. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ottie Murray. On Nov-ember 24, 1943, she married William E. Thomas, and her husband survives her passing. She was a 30 year employee of the Federal Reserve Bank in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to her husband she is survived by three nieces, Carla Farrar, Jane Horstman, Rose Carter, four nephews, Rev. Jim Murray, Bill Sevier, Ken Sevier, Jerry Sevier, brother, Kenneth Sevier, Burnside, Ky., several grand nieces and nephews, and her beloved church family. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26 at Turner Ridge Baptist Church, Pendleton County. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Turner Ridge Baptist Church with Bro. Fred Work-man and Bro. Jim Murray officiating. Music will be shared by Robin Koettel. Richard Andrew Anderson, 61, of Fal-mouth, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at the St. Luke Hospital West in Florence, Ky. Born on Dec-ember 21, 1943, he was the oldest son of the late Warren and Annah Calder Anderson. On October 7, 1966, he married Jeannie Dwyer and his dear wife survives his passing. He was a retired Field Service Engineer for Computer Identies and a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his wife Jeannie he is survived by two children, Matthew Andrew (Lesa) Anderson, Hebron, Ky., Erica Louise (Steve) Jones, Alpharetta, Ga., four grandchildren, Jake Anderson, Haley Anderson, Riley Jones, Owen Jones, and one brother, Robert Anderson, North Smithfield, R.I.

Miss Edna Veronica Larkin, 89, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at the Grand Haven Nursing Home in Cynthiana, Ky. Born on July 24, 1915 in Falmouth, Ky., she was the daughter of the late John and Alice Malloy Larkin. She was a life long resident of Falmouth and a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Falmouth. She was a member of the Pendleton County Senior Citizens and for the past 20 years, she was the coordinator for senior transportation for Pendleton County. She is survived by her best friend and cousin, Robert Malloy, her cousins, Virginia “Jean” Showalter, Pat Malloy and JoAnn Brann, and a host of dear friends.
A mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Falmouth, Ky., with the Rev. Gregory Bach officiating. Music was provided by Martha Lynn and Darryl Ammerman. Casket bearers were Phil Showalter, Joe Showalter, Rick Showalter, Leonard Schroer and Andrew Schroer.

Ralph Edward Schlueter, 77, of Peach Grove, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas, Ky. Born on September 18, 1927 in Demossville, Ky., he was the son of the late Alex and Cora Belew Schlueter. Ralph was united in marriage on March 10, 1951 to Betty Barnard. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sue Layne Schlueter, brother, Winston and sister, Wilma Schlueter. He worked for Thiemann Bros. in Cincinnati Ohio and retired from Reis Concrete in December of 1990 and has resided on Hwy 154, for the past 45 years, on a farm well known as “Ralph’s Ranch”. A faithful member, Sunday School Teacher, Deacon past Sunday School Superintendent, plus assistant softball coach of 2nd Twelve Mile Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Betty Barnard Schlueter, Peach Grove, Ky., daughter, Pam Mains, Alexandria, Ky., brother, Randall Schlueter, Butler, Ky., sister, Beulah Elrod, Foster, Ky., two grandchildren, Mike Mains, Taylor Mill, Ky., and Bridget (Chris) Yelton, Butler, Ky. Born on November 30, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Julius Dugger and Lillie Mae Taylor. On June 17, 1949 she married John Taylor Jr. and her husband preceded her in death on July 30, 1982. She was employed by River Valley Nursing Home for 11 years and a member of the Falmouth Baptist Church.

Mr. Allen was born in Falmouth, Ky., on February 26, 1926, the son of the late Isham and Anna Mae Hand Allen. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, and served in World War II. Ordained deacon at the First Baptist Church in Falmouth, Ky., he was also a member of the V.F.W. and a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Elizabeth Crozier Allen, daughter, Carrie Davis, brothers, Joe Thomas Allen, Charles Luther Allen, Frank Edward Allen, and John Wesley Allen, sisters, Bertha Crozier, Loraine Gross, Mary Hampton, Edith Freeman, Ruth Ann Allen, and Helen Allen.

Morrison “Jack” Young, 74, Florida

Morrison C. “Jack” Young, 74, of Florida, passed away on July 4, 2005 at the Florida Hospital Deland, in Deland, Florida. He was born on December 12, 1930 to the late Marcus and Mary (Bradley) Young, the youngest of seven children and the last surviving member of his family. Preceding him in death was a son, James Kevin Young, three brothers, O.H., Ames and Marcus Jr. Young and three sisters, Dolly Green, Ada Green and Geneva Tyler. He enlisted in the U.S.Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War Conflict. After returning from the service in 1952 he became an employee of C.G.& E. and U.L.H.P. Co., as a lineman for 15 years. He was a former member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Loyal Order of the Moose, and Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Ormond Beach, Florida. “Jack” was loved and respected by everyone who knew him and he will be sadly missed by all. Especially his faithful companion, “Mitzi Monique” his 11 year old Bishon Friese. If she couldn’t go, he wouldn’t go.

Rosella Wilson, 69, of Newport, Ky., passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2005 at The St. Elizabeth South Hospital, Edgewood, Ky., she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Piper in 2000 and her daughter Teresa Comer in 2001.
Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Burrows, and Angela Compton, both of Newport, Ky., Rose Marie Wilson, Covington, Ky., sons, Joseph Krebs, Erlanger, Ky., Ronnie Becker, and Samuel Wilson, Newport, Ky., brothers, Bernard Piper, Florence, Ky., Charles Frazier, Fort Wright, Ky., sisters, Mary Ann Dunn, Taylor Mill, Ky., Beverly Ligon, Nashville, Tenn., sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Monday, August 8, 2005 at The New Macedonia Old Regular Baptist Church in Newport, Ky.
Interment took place in the Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, Ky.
Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, Ky., served the family.

 

Timothy Hall, 45, Falmouth

Timothy Bruce Hall, 45, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2005 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Williamstown, Ky. Born on January 7, 1960 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of William Hall and Connie Hicks. He was a laboror for Prue Construction, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Survivors include his father, William Hall, Falmouth, Ky., mother, Connie (Lowery) Hicks, Sparta, Ky., wife Connie Bowen, sons, Chris and Brian Hall, both of Dry Ridge, Ky., Brandon Hall, Cincinnati, Ohio, step-daughters, Kim (Hall) Threlkeld, Williamstown, Ky., Christian (Hall) Cooper, Walton, Ky., brother, Kim Hall, Ghent, Ky., sisters, Darlene Kinman, Falmouth, Ky., Dinah Gibson, Crown Point, Ind., half sister, Crystal Miller, Crittenden, Ky., two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Services were held on Thursday, August 4, 2005 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, Ky., under the direction of Rev. Ronald Angell.
Interment took place in the Williamstown, Cemetery.
