Bill Bradley, 71, of Route 1, Mt. Vernon died Thursday, October 5 at the Rockcastle County Hospital after a short illness. He was born March 10, 1907 in Jessamine County, the son of the late William Logan and Sarah Cromer Bradley and was a retired farmer. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ollie Owens Bradley of Route 1, Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Mrs. Jean Skeen of Route 1, Mt. Vernon; one sister, Mrs. Alice Bullock of Maud, Ohio; one half-brother, Frank Bradley of Brodhead; two grandchildren, Mrs. Phyllis Jones of Corbin and Mrs. Judy Dillingham of Mt. Vernon and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Carrie Bussell and by one brother, Sam Bradley. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 7 at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Owen Edwards and Bro. Mike Mullins officiating. Burial was in the Freedom Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Charles "Tuck" Baker, Earl Noe, Tom Payne, Jr., Jackie Payne, Gene Ludlow and Bob Roe. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Jasper, Luther McKinney, Dallas Norton and James Payne.
