Rev. Don W. Kirby

 

Funeral services for Rev. Don Wendell Kirby, 49, were held April 29, 2004 at the Stanley Funeral Home, with interment following in Northview Cemetery, both in Dublin, Georgia. Rev. Kirby died April 27 at his residence following an extended illness. Rev. Larry Richards officiated.

 

Don Kirby, was born in Calloway on Sept. 26, 1954. He had lived in Mt. Vernon, Georgia and Alabama. He was pastor of Charity Revival Center in Dublin, Georgia and employed by the Quality Assurance Department of Robins Air Force Base.

 

Survivors include his wife, Denise; his mother, Jean Mink of Brodhead; his son, Michael Kirby of Piedmont, Alabama; three daughters, Angela Kirby Riggs of Piedmont, Alabama, Whitney Bahr of Dublin, Georgia and Morgan Lightbourne of Eastman, Georgia; four brothers, Ronnie Mink and Bruce Mink both of Richmond; Keith Mink of Brodhead and Ray Harper of Milford, OH; a sister, Janie Harper of Mt. Vernon and five grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eddie and Martha Kirby of Calloway.

 

Pallbearers were Jeff Renner, Wayne Kirby, Jeffrey Palmer (all cousins), Donnie Fordham, Bob Bowlin, Terry Randolph, Tim Smith and Danny Watson.

 

Rev. Kirby's heart's desire was that his funeral service would lead someone to the acceptance of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
