Mrs. Ruby Loraine Mahaffey age 83, of Rt.#2 Livingston, Ky. died Tuesday January 6, 2004 at her home. She was born on March 29, 1920 in Rockcastle County the daughter of the late Frank and Virgie Summers Ponder. She was a homemaker, former member of the Eastern Star, enjoyed gardening, bird watching, country & gospel music, and was a member of the Pleasant Run Baptist Church.

Survivors are: One son; Eddie Mahaffey, and wife Donna of Rt. #6 Mt. Vernon. Three daughters; Mrs. Rita Mize of Rt.#2 Livingston, Mrs. Peggy Hurley, and husband Ronnie of Livingston, and Mrs. Caroline Kunkel, and husband Richard of Spencer, South Dakota. Three brothers; Dell Ponder of Livingston, Kenneth Ponder of Florence, Ky., and Paul Ponder of Berea, Ky.. Two sisters; Mrs. Evelyn Amburgy of Lebanon, Ohio, and Mrs. Tevis Bryant of Livingston, Ky. 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by: her husband; Jessie “Buddy” Mahaffey, one son; Benjamin Cleo Mahaffey, two sisters; Nannie Ruth Durham, and Jessie Richardson, and by two brothers; Fred Ponder, and M.S. Ponder.
