Kenneth E. Nicholas

 

Kenneth E. Nicholas, 58, of 642 Mt. Vernon Road, Berea, died Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at Samaritan Hospital in Lexington following a short illness.

 

He was a Rockcastle County native, born October 25, 1944, the son of Gilbert and Mary Bradley Nicholas. He was an employee of Tokico, member of Liberty Avenue Baptist Church and a resident of Madison County most of his life.

 

Survivors include his wife, Jean Smith Nicholas of Berea; five children, Phillip Nicholas (Sharon) of Paint Lick, Rodney Nicholas (Paula) Nicholas of London, Sheila Hart of Corbin, Linda Gregory (Roger) of Corbin; Brenda Thompson (Joey) of London; two step daughters, Gloria Smallwood and Betty Smallwood Dooley (Jimmy), both of Berea; four brothers and sisters, Billy Nicholas of Mt. Vernon, Jerry Nicholas of Florida, Judy Howard of Richmond and Rita Adams of Berea; a granddaughter that he raised, Krystal Thompson of Berea; 14 grandchildren, two step grandchildren; a great grandchild and two step great grandchildren.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Nicholas and a brother, James Nicholas.

 

Funeral services were held Friday, September 12 at Reppert Funeral Home with Kenny Davis and Greg Lakes officiating. Burial followed in the Berea Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers ere Jimmy Dooley, Gary Reed, Jerry Eversole, Howard Smith, Ray Smith and Jim Irvin.
