Mr. J.M. Prewitt age 75, of Rt.#1 Mt.Vernon died Friday July 2, 2004 at the Rockcastle Hospital. He was born on August 31, 1928 in Rockcastle County the son of the late Logan and Mary Bullock Prewitt. He was a retired farmer, a former Ky. Stone Co. employee, and a member of the Northside Baptist Church.

 

Survivors are: his wife of fifty-three years; Mrs. Mabel Cromer Prewitt of Mt.Vernon. Nine sons; Jimmy Prewitt, and wife Debra, Gary Prewitt and wife Teresa, and Justin Prewitt all of Mt.Vernon. Joe, and Doug Prewitt both of Brodhead. Larry Prewitt and wife Debbie of Ferguson. Lloyd Prewitt of Crab Orchard. Jerry Prewitt of Easley, S.C., and Jeff Prewitt of Akron, Oh.. Eight daughters; Mrs. Nancy Silvers and husband Jimmie, Mrs. Anita McFerron, Miss Sherri Prewitt, Mrs. Sonya Parker and husband Tommy, Mrs. Amy McKinney and husband Marvin all of Mt.Vernon. Mrs. Sharon Crowinshield of Rayville, La.. Mrs. Sheila McGuire and husband Stoney of Brodhead, and Mrs. Kay Maupin and husband Whitney of Berea. One brother; James Prewitt of Mt.Vernon. Six sisters; Mrs. Cordia Harper of Mt.Healthy, Oh.. Mrs. Bonita Mink of Somerset. Mrs. Irene Reynolds, Mrs. Charlene Reynolds, Mrs. Rissie Kidwell, and Mrs.

Rosie Cromer all of Mt.Vernon. Thirty-four grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by two infant children; David Ray and Nina Ellen Prewitt, by; one brother; Gilmer Prewitt, and by one sister; Lola Prewitt.
