Carrie Bell Gilliam Reed

Carrie Bell Gilliam Reed age 79 of Mt. Vernon passed away Wednesday Nov. 26, 2003 at her home. She was born in Greenup county KY to the late William and Nola Lewis Gilliam. Carrie was a business owner and had been employed by Dresser and Westinghouse industries. Carrie was also a charter member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Carrie was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Sam Reed, her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters, a son Paul Estill Reed, and a granddaughter Paula Reed Scott.

Carrie is survived by her sons: Arnold (Sherlene) Reed of Cedar Park TX. Jerry (Kathy) Reed of Mt. Vernon and her daughter Janet (Mike) Palmer of Mt. Vernon, and Crystal Isaacs of Mt. Vernon. Three sisters Edith Reed, Edna (Mike) Biko of Greenup Co., and Ethel (Perry) Cornette of Berea, and a brother Dave (Vi) Gilliam of Greenup Co. 8 grandchildren: Katrina (Ben) Beadman, Michael Reed, Juanita (Matt) Walker, Michelle (Greg) Betsworth, Shawn (Mary) Reed, Adam Reed, Samantha (Kevin) Thacker and JaDawn Isaacs and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday Nov. 29, 2003 at 1:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Davis and Rev. Randy McPheron officiating. Burial will be in the Madison Co. Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday Nov. 28, 2003 after 5:00 PM at the Lakes Funeral Home.
