CENTERVILLE, Ind. - Verla M. Scott, age 70, died Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Reid Hospital. She was born Jan. 4, 1934, in Rockcastle County, Ky., to Sylvanus Durham and Gemima A. Baker Durham and had lived in this area most of her life. Mrs. Scott was a former employee of Dilly McGuire, Motor Mower, Huffy, and retired in 1991 from MEG in Cambridge City. Survivors include three sons, Dennis K. Scott of Richmond, Richard B. Scott and his wife Cindie of Centerville and Mark A. Scott of San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren, Lora Scott and Sarah Scott; one great-grandchild, Owen Mathews; two brothers, Jackson Durham of Richmond and James Durham of Liberty; six sisters, Gladys McVay of Richmond, Edna Turner of New Richmond, Ohio, Hazel Marie Wright of Amelia, Ohio, Minnie Croley of Richmond, Geneva Pitcher of Connersville and Betty Jean Riley of Centerville; nieces, nephews and loving friends; two special friends, Opal Abner and Sharon Sheets. Her parents and two brothers, Oliver and Harold, have preceded her in death. Funeral service for Verla M. Scott will at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 E.
Main St., Centerville, Ind. Rev. Lester Maples will officiate. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday at Mills Funeral Home.
