McClellian E. "Smitty" Smith
Former Centerville,
Ind., resident McClellian E. "Smitty" Smith, age 66, who resided at R.R. 2, Box
827, Lamero, Ky., died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Baptist Regional Medical
Center in Corbin, Ky. Born March 7, 1938, in Rockcastle County, Ky., he was the
son of Joe and Lucy Singleton Smith. He formerly owned and operated Smith
Appliance in Centerville. Survivors include his wife, Gale Smith; five sons,
Steve Smith, Livingston, Ky., Brian Smith, Grand Rapids, Mich., Curtis Smith,
Pittsburgh, Pa., James Smith, Petersburg, Ind., and Jason Smith, Centerville,
Ind.; one stepson, Darren Elgin, London, Ky.; three brothers, Russell Smith,
London, Ky., Jesse Smith, Richmond, Ind., and Bennett Smith, Centerville, Ind.;
two sisters, Ruth Sams, Franklin, Ohio, and Dorothy Chasteen, Centerville, Ind.;
seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by his parents and one brother, John Smith. Funeral services for
McClellian E. "Smitty" Smith will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2004,
at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road W., Richmond, with Jerry Day
officiating. Burial will be in Abington Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m.
Friday, April 16, 2004, at the funeral home. |
