Wayne Taylor

 

Wayne Taylor, 62, of Quail, well-known manager of Cook Brothers Auto Parts in Mt. Vernon, died Monday.

 

He was born February 22, 1941 in Rockcastle County, the son of Edd and Zula Mae Taylor.

 

Mr. Taylor was a deacon for several years at the Providence Church of Christ and an avid supporter of Rockcastle County sports.

 

Besides his father, Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 44 years, Christine Brown Taylor; three children, Jeff Taylor (Brenda), of Frankfort, Cindy Taylor Anderkin, of Berea and Troy Taylor (Natalie), of Mt. Vernon and two brothers, William Taylor of Brodhead and Kenny Taylor of Mt. Vernon. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Aaron Anderkin, Megan Anderkin, Jacob Taylor, Logan Taylor, Zachery Taylor, Gencie Taylor, Lauren Taylor, and Karie Beth Taylor.

 

He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Flora Mae Brown.

 

Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Earl Taylor.

 

Visitation for Mr. Taylor will be Wednesday night beginning at 6 p.m. at Marvin E. Owens, Home for Funerals in Brodhead.

 

Funeral services will be held Thanksgiving Day (Thursday) at Providence Church of Christ. Visitation will from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. and services will begin thereafter.

 

Casketbearers are Corey Craig, Josh McKibben, Pat Craig, Chris Craig, James Allen Bradley and Randy Renner.

 

Honorary casketbearers are:  Billy Long, Paul Hansel, Bobby Lawrence, Herbert Ray Adams, Barry Todd, Gatliff Craig, Clinton Brown and James Bradley.

 

Services will be conducted by Dan McKibben, with a special message from Aaron Anderkin.
