Carver Burying Ground

Contributed by: Homer Musselman
This burying ground is known by many names to the residents of Stafford County. The Marine Corps calls it the Carver Burying Ground and I have followed their lead. It is located on the right side of Garrisonville Road (Route #610) near the Stafford County/Fauquier County line. It is located on the Quantico Marine Corps Base. This was a large burying ground and contains 62 grave sites, but only a few (16) graves are marked. The names of those in unmarked graves was obtained from Ken Oliver, Community Planning Officer at Quantico Marine Base.

Photos of this cemetery were taken by David E. Cann
