Walnut Hill Farm Family Cemetery

Contributed by: Homer Mussleman

Joyce Sterne guided me and gave me information on those buried here. Cemetery is located on "Walnut Hill", property of R. Blake Tolson, a descendant of Capt. John Sterne, who married Elizabeth Samuel. John Sterne is listed in the 1800 tax list and the 1810 and 1820 census for Stafford. Mr. Tolson gave a tour of his farm showing us the barn with its original stone foundation as well as the original spring house which is still in use.

From Mountain View Road, turn North onto Rock Hill Church Rd. Turn left at house #620.  There is a chain across the  driveway. At the end of the driveway by the house, cemetery is on the left on a hill in the pasture. There is a chain link fence with three gates around it.  It is very well maintained. There are 28 grave sites (including pets), but not all have markers.
