In the name of God Amen.    I James Sudduth Sen of Stafford County Virginia being in dispose in body but of sound & perfect memory & judgement knowing the uncertainty of Human things, settle my worldy affairs after the following manner.  Imprimis I leave and bequeath unto my son William Sudduth one feather bed & Furniture that which was commonly called his bed also one cow & calf all those I leave to him and his heirs forever.  Item I leave & bequeath to my son James Sudduth &
his heirs forever one feather bed & furniture which he now uses and also  two cows & calves and a pot incase he leaves his mother, Item I leave & bequeath to my Loving wife Mary during her life or widowhood all my Estate & Goods whatsoever now above mentioned in case of her dying I leave all to my grandson Lawrence Sudduth with direction that it may be  appraised or turned into money for him until he comes of age to be delivered to him at that time.  Incaes of my grandson Lawrence Death I
bequeath all to my son James and heirs forever.  Also I leave to my loving wife, Mary Sudduth one mulatto boy Mason todo with him as she  thinks is proper.  Lastly I appoint my loving wife Mary Sudduth whole &  sole ExTr. of this my last will & Testament.  In witness whereof I have set my hand & seal this Jan 24th 1753.

At Court held for Stafford County 13th March 1753  This last will &  Testament of James Sudduth deced presented by Mary Sudduth the ExTr therein named.. Certificate granted her for obtaing probate.."

"In Obedience to an Order Stafford County Court to us directed 13th March 1753 to appraise all Estate of Mr. James Sudduth deced We the Subscribers first sworn before Peter Daniel, one of his Majesties Justices..did meet at the said Sudduth's late Plantation and proceeded  as followeth..items listed and valued Total 126.4.9 pounds to crop To be - 149 1/2    Thomas Monroe, Thomas Hay, Wm. Mills.  At court held for Stafford County 14th August 1753 This Inventory & Appraisement Estate

 I James Mann of Overwharton Parish of Stafford County in the Colony of Virga. being sick & weak of body .... do hereby devise and bequeath all and singular my Estate to be equally divided between my wife & children & to the heirs of MARGARET & URSULA MANN and to the performance of that devise touching all my Tenements & hereditamt. I freely devise & bequeath the same to them .. to the proper use benefit & behoof of the said Margt. & Ursula Mann in as full large & ample manner as Joint Tenants by the Laws of England ought to have hold & enjoy the same and I do hereby make my loving wife Mary my sole Executrx.
