Ruth Richardson was born in 1901 on Briar Creek. Her father was Tommy Richardson and her mother was Susie Adkins. She attended school at Bon and married Tom Smith, a railroad engineer. They spent most of their life in Corbin. Ruth and Tom had two sons: Charles and Paul.
