I fixed my black dress over the one Mom gave me so by Prase the Lord   


Friday 7, Jan. 1944 :

Well I cleaned up Stares Deloris Houge was here a  while  by    I sold 15 hens $19.80

Snowing rite down and I am Just Housed up wit a  cold


Sunday 9, Jan. 1944 :

Well I baked me a cake and made me some Float   (?)  to eat with my cake   Bertha spent the eve with  me    


 NOTE : Does anyone know what Float is?

We used to make Floats on special occasions with Ice Cream and Soda. Picking the flavor of soda was the fun part. i.e. Root Beer + Ice Cream = Root Beer Float, my personal favorite!
