Mrs. Emily Tapp Trice Dead
Mrs. Emily Tapp Trice, one of the old and respected citizens of Madisonville, died last Friday morning. Mrs. Trice was born 74 years ago and has most, if not all her life, lived in Hopkins County, and in Madisonville for perhaps 15 years. She had been married twice. Her first husband was a Mr. Tapp and after his death she was married to Mr. Trice. She has been a widow for many years. Mr. Robert Tapp, who was at one time sheriff of Hopkins county was her son. He died a few years ago. She has one daughter who still survives, Mrs. Webb Brown, of the Hanson country. Willis and Jack Tapp who are engaged in the confectionery business in Madisonville are grandsons of the deceased. Mrs. Trice had for many years been a member of the Baptist church. She was well and favorably known and had many friends. The funeral took place at Olive Brach church Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock, after which the body was interred in the nearby cemetery.
