Seiger, Pauline & Hershell Jackson

Seiger-Jackson Wedding. Miss Pauline Seiger, of Cherry Hill, and Mr. Hershell Jackson, this city, were united in marriage Saturday, December 2nd, at the home of Willie Vaught. Miss Jackson is the daughter of Harrison Seiger of Cherry Hill. They were married in the presence of friends, Willie Vaught officiating.

Short, Carolyn & Wallace Craig Vincent

Short-Vincent Wedding Held Dec. 19. The wedding of Miss Carolyn Short, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Loyd Short, Greenville Route 1, and Mr. Wallace Craig Vincent, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wallace Vincent of Graham, took place on Dec. 19 at 7:30 at the Vernal Grove Baptist Church.

The altar was decorated with baskets of white lilies and greenery, with two seven candalabras. The Rev. Kenneth Owen Johnston officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a waltz length dress of white slipper satin, with all over lace. The fitted bodice was fashioned with a scalloped neckline, and long tapered sleeves. Her long bridal veil was of net set with tiny seed pearls. The bridal bouquet was white carnations and white streamers.

Attendants were Mrs. Loyd Loney, maid of honor, who wore a blue lace gown and matching blue lace head band. The bridemaids wre Miss Linda Short, sister of the bride, who wore a ballerina length gown of pink taffeta. Miss Peggy Vincent of Depoy wore orchid organza. Miss Wilda Bethel of Greenville wore blue taffeta.

Jeffery Stovall of Graham, cousin of the groom, was the ring bearer. Flower girls were cousins of the bride, Shelia and Patricia McDonald of Madisonville, who were dressed in white and dropped rose petals as the bride and groom came down the aisle.

The best man was his brother, Mr. Johnny Vincent, of Graham. Ushers were Bobby Winston of Madisonville, Tommy Ford, Greenville, and Edwin Todd Hill of Graham.

The organist, Mr. Wayne Johnston, played the wedding march. Miss Necia Hill sang, “I Love You Truly,” and “Seal Us O Holy Spirit.”

The bride's mother wore a royal blue dress with black accessories. Her corsage was white carnations.

The grooms's mother wore a navy blue crepe dress with black and white accessories. Her corsage was of white carnations.

A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. The table was decorated with a three-tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom. Serving at the punch bowl was Miss Nancy Noe of Graham and Mrs. Freddie Gossett of Paducah. Serving the cake was Mrs. J.B. McDonald of Madisonville.

For the wedding trip, the bride wore a black jersey dress, white feathered hat, and black accessories and white corsage.

The groom is now employed in Madisonville. They will make their home in Madisonville.

Shoulders, Margaret & William Lacefield

Shoulders-Lacefield Marriage. Miss Margaret Shoulders and Mr. William Lacefield were united in marriage last Saturday afternoon at the Christian church parsonage, the Rev. C.C. England performing the ceremony.

Mrs. Lacefield is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Shoulders and Mr. Lacefield is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Lacefield.

Shutt, Virginia Lee & Milan Bryan Parker

Miss Virginia Lee Shutt and Mr. Milan Bryan Parker were united in marriage at the Presbyterian manse, Bevier, December 24, by the Rev. J.T. Wade.

Smith, Helen Dryden & John Braumfield Neill

Smith-Neill. The handsomest wedding of the season in Central City was that of Miss Helen Dryden Smith, the beautiful daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, and John Braumfield Neill, of Russellville, which was celebrated Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the Presbyterian church. As the strains of the wedding march filled the church, the attendants, Messrs. Dan Mahoney and Will Whitaker, of Russellville, passed up the middle aisle and were immediately followed by the groom and his best man, Mr. Harvey Stroud, a brother of the bride. Little Misses Ruth Stroud and Virginie Rowe, nieces of the bride, strewd roses in the path of the bride as she entered the church on the arm of her father. The bridal party was met by the Rev. Walter E. Furr and the entire party stood in a perfect bower of cut flowers and palms and blooming plants, while the impressive ceremony was said. Immediately after the ceremony the bride and groom left for Florida, where they will spend their honeymoon.

Mr. Neill is a prominent business man of Russellville. Mr. and Mrs. Neill will be at home after June 1, in Russellville. The out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Stroud, and Misses Irene and Ruth Stroud, of Staunton, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Otto Downs, of Livermore; Mr. and Mrs. Dillas Brown, of Bevier; Miss Fanny Hammond, of Rockfield, and Messrs. Dan Mahoney, of Lewisburg, and Mr. Will Whittaker, of Russellville. - Central City Republican.

The bride has many relatives in this country who will be pleased to learn of her happy marriage.

Son, Anna Lou & Frank A. Boswell

Announcement of Son and Boswell Marriage. Mr. P.B. Son, of Central City, announces the marriage of his daughter, Miss Anna Lou Son, to Mr. Frank A. Boswell, of Cannelton, Ind. The ceremony was performed at 8 o'clock Thursday morning, April 27, at the St. Michael's Church in Cannelton.

Mrs. Boswell is a graduate of the Central City High School and has been employed at Owensboro. Mr. Boswell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Boswell, of Cannelton, Ind.

The young couple will reside at Cannelton.

Mr. and Mrs. Boswell, before their marriage, were in the city the first of the week. Mrs. Boswell's friends wish the couple much happiness.

Stewart, Anna Marjorier & Harry Kell Jr.

Stewart-Kell Marriage. Miss Anna Marjorie Stewart and Mr. Harry Kell, Jr., both of this city, were united in marriage Monday morning at Greenville.

Mrs. Kell is the daughter of Mr. T.E. Stewart and Mr. Kell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kell.

Stovall, Vernell & Gerald Vincent

Local Happenings. Stovall-Vincent Wedding. Miss Vernell Stovall and Mr. Gerald Vincent were united in marriage Saturday, March 5, at Rockport, Ind.

Mrs. Vincent is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Stovall, Greenville, and Mr. Vincent is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Vincent of this city and is employed at the Sinclair Service Station. They were accompanied by Miss Inez Blackwell and Mr. William Henry.

Mr. and Mrs. Vincent will reside in this city.

Stroud, Eliza & R.L. Vick

Stroud-Vick. Mr. R.L. Vick and Miss Eliza Stroud were married by Rev. G.B. McDonald, who performed the ceremony at his home at 1.30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, a few friends being present. Mr. Vick is engaged in business here, and the bride is a popular girl who lives at Moorman. Their many friends wish them long, useful lives.

Married at the Northington House in this city on Sunday night, April 17th, by Rev. D.A. Brigham, Mr. E.A. Sullivan and Miss Mary Stanley, both of Muhlenberg county, Ky.

Swain, Lanelda June & Milton Robert Wortham

Swain-Wortham Wedding. Miss Lanelda June Swain and Mrs. Milton Robert Wortham, of this city, were united in marriage at 8 o'clock Saturday, January 14, at Louisville, the Rev. D.H. Friend performing the ceremony.

Mrs. Wortham is the attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.I. Swain of this city. She is a graduate of the Rockport High School senior class of 1936.

Mr. Wortham is the son of Mrs. Maggie Wortham, and is a graduate of the Central City High School of 1935. He is a valued employe of Ruby Distributing Company, this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Wortham are at home at the groom's mother on South Eighth Street.

Swann, Mary Magdalene & Marcellus Brizendine Wynne

Swann-Wynne Wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Swann, 810 Broad Street, announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Mary Magdalene Swann, to Mr. Marcellus Brizendine Wynne, son of Mr. and Mrs. S.B. Wynne, Greenville. The wedding was solemenized at 5:30 p.m. Thanksgiving day at the home of the bride's parents, the Rev. Wade Weldon officiating, the ceremony being read before a white alter banked with ferns and lighted with candles. Attendants were Miss Retha Mae Eades and Miss Cara Sue Wynne.

Before the entrance of the bride, “I Love You Truly” was played by Miss Alma Frances Crabtree at the piano and Mr. James Howard Elkins, violin. As the bridal party entered, the wedding march by Lohengrin was rendered, and during the ceremony, “Oh Promise Me” was softly played.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was gowned in royal blue velvet, made princess style, and wore a shoulder bouquet of sweet heart roses. She also wore a yellow gold necklace that her mother wore on her wedding day. Miss Eades was dressed in black velvet and wore a shoulder bouquet of talisman roses; Miss Wynne wore wine crepe with yellow roses. The bride's mother was attired in rose beige crepe with yellow roses and the groom's mother was dressed in black crepe with yellow roses.

Following the ceremony a reception was given at the home of the bride's parents.

At the conclusion of a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Wynne will be at home in Greenville.

Swinney, Glennie Mae & David Hugh Mefford

Swinney-Mefford. Kirkmansville - Miss Glennie Mae Swiney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Estille W. Swinney, Kirkmansville, and David Hugh Mefford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Mefford, Drakesboro, were married at the First Baptist Church, Bowling Green, at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 14. Dr. Joseph R. Estes performed the ceremony.

The attendants were: Mrs. Bruce N. Catlett, Lexington, Ky., matron of honor; Misses Nelda Mefford and Miss Jane Stewart, bridesmaids; Misses Belinda Mae Swinney and Brenda Faye Swinney junior bridesmaids; C.W. Mefford, Drakesboro, brother of the groom, best man; little Miss Connie Swinney, flower girl, and Master Steven Mefford, ringerbearer. Ushers were Durwood Mefford, Bill Sweeney, John Couch, David Field and Bill Rogers.

Mrs. Mefford is a graduate of Clifty High school and Western Kentucky State college.

The Rev. Mr. Mefford is a graduate of Hughes-Kirkpatrick high school, Western Kentucky State college, and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville. He is pastor of the First Baptist church, Bristol, Va.
