Beadnell, George

Greenville - George Beadnell, 90, of Route 4, Greenville, died Friday at Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Muhlenberg County on May 31, 1884, he was a retired coal miner and farmer.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Beadnell; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Sampson, Route 4, Greenville, and Mrs. Delna Farmer, Vienna, Ill.; three sons, Dotson Beadnell, Route 4, Greenville, and George Beadnell Jr. and Klyndal Beadnell, both of Owensboro; a sister, Mrs. Josie Brumley of Drakesboro; a brother, Grover Beadnell of Greenville; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. Moriah Church of Christ with Mr. Jerry Barber officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Gary Funeral Home in Greenville after 5 p.m. today.

Beafley, Laura

Bremen - Mrs. Laura Beafley, 70, died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at her home.

Born in Butler County January 3, 1899, she was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include her husband, Carl; two sons, Paul Beafley of Georgetown, Ky., and Billy Beafley of Chicago; two daughters, Mrs. Jeannette Jones of Bremen, and Mrs. Lockie Joines of Beech Creek; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Davis pastor of the Mercer Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pisgah Cemetery.

Bean, Della Hocker

Central City &345; Mrs. Della Hocker Bean, 82, died at Welborn Memorial Hospital in Evansville, Ind. at 6 p.m. on Thursday. She was born April 28, 1889 in Ohio County and was a member of Cleaton Baptist Church.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today at the Tucker Funeral Home by the Rev. Ernest Bean. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The body is at the funeral home in Central City.

Beard, Eula

Mrs. Eula Beard, 63, Is Buried Monday

Hardinsburg - Mrs. Eula Beard, 61, of Baltimore, Md., formerly of Greenville, died Thursday, April 14, in a Baltimore hospital after a long illness. She had worked for the Paradise TVA plant.

Surviving are a son, Marvin D. Beard of Baltimore; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hook and Mrs. Margaret Ames; three brothers, Thomas, Harold and Arthur Beard, all of Hardinsburg.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hardinsburg Baptist Church. Burial was in Ivy Hill Cemetery.

Beasley, Tina Pearl

Central City, Ky. - Tina Pearl Beasley, 14 died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Beasley, South 3rd and Jefferson Sts., at 4:30 a.m. today.

Surviving, besides the parents, are one brother, Clarence Jr., U. S. Navy in Japan; six sisters, Zona Mae, Geraldine, Marie, Betty, Martha and Carolyn.

Funeral services will be held at the Harrison Avenue Church of God at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.

The body is at the Tucker Funeral Home, Central City.

Bell, Margaret

Mrs. W.H. Bell Dead.

Mrs. Margaret Bell, wife of Rev. W.H. Bell of this place, died last night at eleven o'clock at her home on Broad street, this city of abscess of the lungs, after an illness of over three months. She leaves a husband and four children to mourn her death. She was forty-eight years of age and had lived a consistent christian life. The remains will be interred in Fair Mount Cemetery this city at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of the entire community.

Bennett, Arthur

Central City - Arthur Bennett, 73, died at his residence in Central City at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday from a heart ailment. He was a native of Bremen and was a salesman for the Zinsmeister Co. of Greenville. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Central City and a member of the board of stewards of the church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Blanche Bennett; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Margaret Owen, Garden Grove, Calif., and Mrs. Zelma Penrod of Detroit; a sister, Mrs. Annie Vincent, Route 4, Greenville, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Methodist Church, Central City, with the Rev. Bennett Hulse, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. C. W. Devine, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The body is at the Tucker Funeral Home.

Bennett, Benson

Rockport, Ind., March 10. - Funeral services for Mrs. Benson Bennett were held at the Baptist church on Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. J. C. Wyatt, of Owensboro. Mrs. Bennett died Tuesday at her home in Greenville, Ky. She was the widow of William Bennett, formerly of Rockport. The body was interred at Sunset Hill cemetery.

Bennett, Blanch E.

Central City - Mrs. Blanch E. Bennett, 87, died at 11:15 p.m. Monday at Sparks Rest Home in Central City.

She was born in Muhlenberg County on June 23, 1883, and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rex Penrod, Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Mary Margaret Owens [sic - Owen], Central City; three sisters, Mrs. Delia Stirsman, Central City, Mrs. Flora Settle, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Sally Quinn [sic - Guynn], Central City; one brother, James Fentress, Indianapolis, Ind., and three grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Tucker Funeral Home at Central City, with the Rev. W.R. Cook, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Bennett, Clarence A.

Central City, Ky. - Clarence A. Bennett, 66, died at the Greenville hospital at 2:55 a.m. today. For the past two years he was an employe of the Livingston Wholesale company. Prior to that time he was an employe of the Nehi Bottling company. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church.

Surviving are the widow; three daughters, Mrs. W.C. Hillhouse, Kingsport, Tenn.; Mrs. V.B. Stringer, Mrs. E.G. Benson, both of Central City; three grandchildren; two brothers, James Bennett, Bremen, Arthur Bennett, Central City; two sisters, Mrs. J.A. Vincent, Rosewood community, Mrs. T. A. Wilkins, Graham.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Cumberland Presbyterian church, the Rev. Miller Cook officiating, assisted by the Rev. W.E. James. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery, Central City.

The body is at the late residence in the Benson-Lawton apartments, Central City, and will be taken to the church one hour before services.

Bennett, Louis

Bennett, Lydia Caroline

Greenville, Ky., Sept. 5. - Mrs. Lydia Caroline Bennett, a member of a prominent family of Muhlenberg county, died Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Vincent, in Rosewood, following several weeks' illness.

Mrs. Bennett, a daughter of Joseph Hendricks and Susan Shaver Hendricks, was born on January 31, 1854, in Muhlenberg county. She was married to Amos Bennett who preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Arthur Bennett and Clarence Bennett, of Central City, Jo Bennett, of Bremen, Mrs. Tom Wilkins, of Graham, and Mrs. Jim Vincent, of Rosewood.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at Shaver's chapel, the Rev. Mr. Hardesty having charge. Burial was in the Shaver's chapel cemetery.

Bennett, Robert Lee

Bennett, Stella

Mrs. Stella Bennett, 67, of 206 W. 25th St. [Owensboro], died Monday at 6:20 p.m. at the Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital after an illness of one year. For 13 years, she was employed as a pastry cook at Newberry's and Cornell's Restaurant.

Born in Muhlenberg County on Nov. 20, 1892, she had lived in Owensboro for the past 30 years. She was a member of the Settle Memorial Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Aileen Logsdon, Owensboro; two sons, Alvis and Ronald, both of Utica Route 1; one stepson, Carl Bennett, Owensboro; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Hilda Rhoades, Owensboro; 17 stepgrandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the James H. Davis Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Carmen Albrigh, Franklin, Ind., assisted by the Rev. W. O. Spencer, pastor of the Hall Street Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers: James Foster, Troy Cornell, Jack Sallwachter, Edward L. Payne, Sgt. Homer Stephens and Haskell Rhoades.

The body is at the funeral home.

Bennett, Wesley

Benson, Hubert O.

Central City - Hubert O. “Rocky” Benson, 31, of Central City, died Saturday, March 14, 1987, from injuries received in a one-car accident on Kentucky 181 south of Greenville. He was born in Muhlenberg County and was a student at Madisonville Community College.

Survivors include a son, Jacob Benson of Central City; his mother, Dianne Isaacson of New Brunswick, Canada; his father and stepmother, Hubert Benson Sr. and Edna Benson of Route 2, Central City#59; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Estil Payne and Mr and Mrs. John Benson, all of Central City; a sister, Karen McRoy of Central City#59; two half brothers, Shane and Shawn Benson, and a half sister, Shannon Benson, all of Central City.

Services are at 2 p.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Central City. Visitation at the funeral home.

Benson, Hubert Othel

Central City - Hubert Othel Benson, 63, of Central City died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born in Muhlenberg County and was a retired coal miner.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Allen Benson; two sons, Hubert Shane Benson and Geoffrey Shawn Benson, both of Central City; two daughters, Shannon Renee Benson and Karen Roxanne McRoy, both of Central City; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in South Carrollton. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dean's Sister, 55, Dies

Livermore - Mrs. Helen V. Bents, 55, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Livermore, died Tuesday, Aug. 19 in Resurrection Hospital, Chicago. She was born in Ohio County

Survivors include her husband, Charles Bents; son, Michael W. Kassinger of Livermore; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald Leiser of Carpentersville, Ill. and Mrs. Frank Smith of Evansville, Ind.; three brothers, Dan Davis of Carpentersville, John Davis of Evansville, Ind., and Robert Davis of Livermore; sister, Mamie Dean of South Carrollton.
