Wright, Frederick Parker

F.P. Wright's death came as shock to county
Prominent coal operator dies at Bevier Saturday morning.

One of the most distinct losses ever sustained by Muhlenberg county and Western Kentucky was the death last Saturday morning of Frederick Parker Wright, for twenty-six years general manager of the Crescent Coal Company at Bevier and prominent among coal operators of the country.

He had been ill only a week and his death was due to endocarditis. Although he had reached the advanced age of 75 years, one month and four days, he had been very active until a few days previous to his death. He had served eight years as president and vice president of the Western Kentucky Coal Operators Association. He was a devout member of the Episcopal church. A biographical sketch and tribute will be found elsewhere in today]s issue of The Argus.

The body was transported to Nashville, Tennessee, Monday morning by a special train, where the burial occurred that afternoon at Mt. Olivet cemetery. In addition to E.J. Anderson, funeral director of this city, who had charge of all funeral arrangements, those who accompanied the body to Nashville were: Mrs. J.A. Smith, Central City, and the pall bearers, J.A. Smith, Ed W. Holt, and Charles Rodman, Central City; C.W. Taylor, W.G. Duncan and C.M. Martin, Greenville; D.D. Duncan and Wick Graham, Bevier.
