Transcription

I wish my property equally divided amongst my children except Richard and Sally who I wish to have a negro a piece more than the rest.

The above statement was made by Major Bennett Calvert when speaking of a division of his property amongst his children the day on which he died in my presence. His death occurred at ten o'clock p.m. November 28th 1836. November 30th, 1836.

We also state that said Bennett Calvert stated to us and declared that it was his will and desire that his property should be disposed of in the manner within named during his said last illness Jany. 30th 1837.

The foregoing nuncupative will of Bennet G. Calvert deceased was exhibited in to court & proved to be the last will of the said Calvert by the oaths of Dr[?] John M. Johnson & John Huston, two of the subscribing witnesses thereto, & ordered to be recorded.
