Marinda Carver Will

Transcription

I, Marinda Carver, of Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, 48 years of age, of sound mind and disposing memory, intending hereby to direct the succession of all the property I may own or entitled to at my death, do declare this to be my last will and testament.

1st, I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.

2nd, I give and devise to my son N.A. Carver and his wife Melissa Carver all of my personal and real estate property, consisting of one half interest in an undivided tract of land, being the same conveyed to myself and N.A. Carver by E.W. Jenkins and better known as the Isaac Farris tract land and on the waters of Bateast Creek and bounded east and west by E.W. Jenkins, on north by the heirs of L.H. Jenkins, on south by Robert Jenkins & southwest by T.J. Strader, containing about 150 acres more or less, and further give and bequeath to aforesaid parties, my mule, being a red mare mule about seven years old, also one cow and calf and all household and kitchen furniture, consiting of beds, bed clothing, chairs, tables, one clock, all of the tableware &c.

In case that the said N.A. Carver and his wife shall raise a female heir, the sewing machine shall fall to said heir, otherwise to belong to said N.A. Carver and his wife.

I constitute and appoint R.H. Pearson executor of this my last will and testament whereof I subscribe my name this 3” day of Dec 1888.

The foregoing last will and testament of Marinda Carver, deceased, was produced to court on the date aforesaid and proved to be the act and deed of said decdent by the oath of T.J. Strader, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, who also proved the attestation of O.W. Hooper, the other subscribing witness. Whereupon the same was ordered to be recorded, which is now done accordingly.
