Transcription

In the name of God Amen! I, Susan Crockett, of the county of Muhlenberg and Commonwealth of [Kentucky], knowing and believing that it is appointed for all human beings once to die and while in my proper mind, having thought proper to make this my last will and testament.

In tthe first place, my will is that all my just debts be paid by my executors hereinafter named.

Second, after the death of myself and my husband William Crockett, i give and bequeath to my friend (and if I shall live long enough, I intend to make him my adopted son by law) William Winters all of my estate both real & personal to have and to hold forever, and I hereby appoint William Crockett, my husband, as executor of this my last will and testament, revoking all former wills by me made, and declare this to be my last will and testament. Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 15th day of July 1855.

A writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Susan Crockett, deceased, was exhibited into court and proven to be the act & deed of said Susan Crockett by the oaths of B.J. Shaver and M. Lewis, subscribing witnesses thereto. Wherefore the same was ordered to be recorded and with this certificate is truly recorded in my office. Given under my hand this 16 day of July 1859 AD.
