Transcription

In the name of God, Amen. I, John Girvin, of the county of Muhlenberg and Commonwealth of Kentucky, being weak in body and being also in my perfect mind and memory, taking to mind the mortality of my body and knowing and believing that it is appointed for all mankind once to die, I have thought proper while in my perfect mind to make this my last will & testament.

In the first place, my will is that all of my just debts be paid.

Secondly, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Girvin all of my estate both real and personal.

I do hereby appoint my wife Elizabeth Girvin executor to this my last will and testament. I do hereby revoke and make void all former wills by me made and declare this to be my last will and testament.

In testimoney I have hereunto set my hand & seal this the 1” day of November in the year of our Lord 1848.

The foregoing writing purporting to be the last will and testament of John Girvin, deceased, was exhibited into Court & proved to be the act and deed fo the said John Girvin by the oaths of Charlres Morehead and John Stroud, two of the subscribing witnesses thereo, and thereupon ordered to be recorded.
