In the name of God Amen. I, John Gish of the county of Muhlenberg and state of Kentucky, remembering that it is appointed once to all men to die and being of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament.

First, my will is that all my just debts be paid.

Secondly, I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Elizabeth Gish all my estate both real and personal so long as she may continue a widow to be expended and used as she may think best in the support and education of my children and to be divided amongst them as my said wife may think proper but should my wife ever marry she is to lose the provision made for her in this will and my desire is that my executors hereafter named sell all my personal property which may remain and distribute the proceeds thereof equally amongst my children as they shall come of age.

It is also my will if my wife shall marry that my executors rent out my land until my youngest child shall come of age and then divide the land and the proceeds thereof equally amongst my children in the event of my wife's marrying.

I do appoint my exor. guardians to my children and request them to bind my children out to learn some useful trade and to receive a common English education.

I do hereby appoint Martin Kittinger, Peter Shaver and Jacob Noftsinger executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 7~ day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and twenty one.
