County of Muhlenberg, State of Kentucky

This March 7, 1898

Be it known that I, Martin Kittinger, being of sound mind and disposing memory do make and constitute this my last will and testament.

First, I will my soul to God and my body to the grave.

2nd, I will that all my just debts be paid.

3rd, I will to my wife Mary E. Kittinger the farm I now live on to have and to hold during her lifetime to will or dispose of in any way she wants to.

4th, I will that this said farm shall be subjected to a mortgage on file in the office in Greenville, Muhlenberg County and state of Kentucky. There is a note given by Jonathan Kittinger, deceased, given to me, Martin Kittinger, that is now in the hands of Wickliffe and Johnson, attys. at Greenville, the above county and state herein named. Said note shall be collected and paid on said mortgage on said farm.

6th [sic], All personal property, household and kitchen furniture, I will that my wife Mary E. Kittinger have and to hold as she sees proper to dispose of for any case of necessity during her life.

7th, I will that all my claims and accounts now due me shall be placed in the hands of my wife Mary E. Kittinger for collection and for her disposal as she sees proper.

Given under my hand this day and date above given. This March 7” 1898.

The foregoing last will and testament of Martin Kittinger, deceased, was produced in open court on the date above written and proven to be the act and deed of said decedent by the oaths of Willis Kittinger and S.N. Patterson, the two subscribing witnesses thereto. Whereupon the same is adjudged to be the last will and testament of said decedent and ordered to be recorded, which is now done accordingly.
