Thomas M. Penick, 1889

Know all men by these presents that I Thomas M. Penick of the county of Muhlenberg state of Kentucky being now of good mind but of feeble health and knowing the uncertaintly of life and the absolute certainty of death do ordain and make this my last will and testament, being seized and possessed of a dwelling house and two lots in the town of South Carrollton, Ky., and the same on which I now live I will and bequeath the same together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging and all the personal property I own unto my wife Josephine E. Penick, to have, hold and enjoy the same during her natural life, and after her death to be sold and equally divided between all my children.

I hereby appoint my wife Josephine E. Penick my executrix to carry into effect the provisions of this will. All of whcih is done in the same of my Heavenly Master Amen.

The foregoing last will and testament of Thomas M. Penick deceased was produced to Court on the date aforesaid and proved to be the act and deed of said decedent by the oath of Q.B. Coleman one of the subscribing witnesses thereto who also proved the attestation of John J. McIntire the other subscribing witness thereto. Whereupon the same was ordered to be recorded which is now done accordingly.
