Eleanor Rhoads, 1832

In the name of God Amen. I Eleanor Rhoads being feeble in body but of sound mind & perfect understanding, do make this my last will & testament. As it is my wish & desire that my husband shall have all my estate, I therefore give unto my beloved husband Christopher V. Rhoads, my land which is a part of my father's tract lying on Pond River, Hopkins County. This land has never been divided, it is the land which belong to my father Elias Smith, who is now dead. Also my part of a negro boy by the name of Frederick. He being my nearest earthly friend, I make this to secure to him the said Rhoads all of my estate which may be coming to me from my father's estate or from any other source. Signed, sealed &c. in presents of
