Charles F. Robertson, 1874

I, C.F. Robertson of the County of Muhlenberg & State of Kentucky, make this my last will. I give devise and bequeath my Estate and property real and personal as follows

1st I give to my wife Araminta Robertson the farm on which I reside, supposed to be Three hundred & fifty acres, and the following farming utensils towit, The Mower & Rake, Waggon & bed, two plows, two scythes & cradle and the following Stock towit, two choice mules & gearing, five head of Sheep, five hogs & one Sow & pigs & one Cow & calf & all the household & Kitchen furniture and at her death to be equally divided between my two sons Randolph & Roger Robertson.

I give to my son Henry Robertson one Thousand Dollars in McLean County Bonds, which is all that he is to have of my Estate, the aforesaid Bonds to be held by my son James N. Robertson, who will collect the interest on the same & pay to Henry until the bonds are due & then invest the same in a piece of land for him.

I give to James N. Robertson & Charles A. Robertson my undivided tract of land Known as the Kirtley land supposed to contain Three hundred & thirty acres which I value to them at Fifteen hundred Dollars Each. I have advanced my son Charles A. Robertson Three Hundred Dollars I desire that he pay back to the Estate Two Hundred Dollars of the same.

I will & have advanced to my son W. P. Robertson One Thousand Dollars the balance of my property not willed to be sold & the proceeds after paying my just debts to be Equally divided between my three sons towit, James N. Robertson, W.P. Robertson & Charles A. Robertson.

I appoint James N. Robertson Executor of this my will.

In witness whereof I have signed and sealed and published and declared this instrument as my will this the 3rd day of April 1874.

The said C.F. Robertson on the 3rd day of April signed and sealed this instrument and published & declared the same as and for his last will and we at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto written our names as subscribing witnesses.

I Chas. F. Robertson do this day make and publish this as a codicil to the will heretofore made by me on the 3d day of April 1874. In said will I gave to my son Henry Robertson “One Thousand Dollars in McLean County Bonds which is all he is to have of my Estate, the aforesaid bonds to be held by my son James N. Robertson who will collect the interest on the same and pay to Henry until the bonds are due & then invest the same in a piece of land for him.” Since said will was written and signed by me my said son Henry Robertson has died leaving no heirs. I hereby revoke that part of my will in which the bequest to him was made and will and bequeath said bonds of McLean County together with the interest collected on them to my other children to be equally divided among them and all bequests made in said will of date April 3d 1874 in regard to my son Henry are hereby revoked.

The foregoing last will and Testament of C.F. Robertson Decd. was produced to Court and proved to be the act and deed of the said C.F. Robertson Decd. by the oaths of J.C. Moorman & Geo. W. Townes, the two subscribing witnesses thereto, who also proved the codicil to said Will to be his act and deed and the same together with the codicil is ordered to be recorded which is now done accordingly.
