Joshua Tetterton Will

Transcription

In the name of God Amen. I, Joshua Tetterton, being sick but of sound mind and disposing memory, do make this my last will and testament, revoking all former wills by me made.

In the first place I want all just debts and my funeral expenses to be paid out of my estate.

Second, I give Mahala Gibbs two third of all my lands there being several tracts.

Second [sic], I give George Tetterton the balance of my lands, all my cash and cash notes, goods and chattels of every kind, giving him the whole of my estate, except the two thirds of the lands owned by me which I have given Mahala Gibbs.

I hereby appoint J.H. Reno executor of this my last will and testament.

Witness my hand this 21st of October 1873.

The foregoing last will and testament of Joshua Tetterton deceased was produced to court and proved to be the act and deed of the said Joshua Tetterton decd. by the oaths of Jesse Keith, John A. McPherson and J.H. Reno, the three subscribing witnesses thereto, and the same is ordered to be recorded which is done accordingly.
