Jubel Vincent Will

Transcription

I, Jubel Vincent, of the county of Muhlenberg and state of Kentucky and by occupation a farmer, being of sound mind and disposing memory for which I thank God, make this my last will and testament. I give, devise and bequeath my estate and property, personal & real, as follows, that is to say.

I nominate and appoint my wife Elizabeth Vincent as my executrix to carry into effect the several provisions of this my last will. And I request the court not to require her to give security on her bond as executrix.

I have given to my five oldest children viz. W.J. Vincent, R.D. Vincent, J.H. Vincent, F.M. Vincent & J.J. Vincent, in money and personal property each five hundred dollars as their distributable share of my estate.

I give to my beloved wife all the estate that I now possess, after paying all of my just debts, to have and to hold the same for her use and benefit during her lifetime and at her death I want it all sold and the proceeds equally divided among my eleven youngest children, viz: Andrew Vincent, Lucy Vincent, Felix Vincent, Thomas Q. Vincent, Sarah A. Vincent, Charlie A. Vincent, William H. Vincent, N.E. Vincent, Daten Vincent, Milton Vincent, & W.A. Vincent.

I hereby give to my wife power to sell privately or publicly any personal property hereby bequeathed to her and her children & use the proceeds as she may see proper.

In witness whereof I have signed and sealed, pbulished, declared this instrument as my will at my residence on the 5th day of February 1876.

The said Jubel Vincent at his residence on said day signed and sealed this instrument and published and declared the same as and for his last will. And we at his request & in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto written our names as subscribing witnesses.

March Term 1887
The foregoing last will and testament of Jubel Vincent, deceased, was produced to Court on the date aforesaid and proved to be the act and deed of said decedent by the oaths of T.J. Eades and S.M. Eaton, two of the subscribing witnesses thereto, who also proved the attestation of R.D. Tudor, the other subscribing witness thereto. Whereupon the same was ordered to be recorded which is now done accordingly.
